  1. Lol I think the dealer made the colour up too! There's no IS colour called pewter metallic!! Haha :) I googled it out of curiousity and I found Kodiak sky comes up with your colour and silver the colour of my car. My car is platinum ice tho so I'm guessing yours is Kodiak sky. :)
  2. Cambelt according to my handbook is 60k and is part of the 60k service. I think it's Kodiak sky as I looked at one identical to yours when looking to buy mine and I was told it was Kodiak sky so I could be wrong.
  3. Hi there. Nice car. The colour of your Lexus is Kodiak Sky. This colour was only available 2004-2005. These were the last IS200 produced and came fully loaded with full leather seats as opposed to half leather and built in sat nav etc... Basically Lexus fully loaded them to sell them before they launched the 2nd generation IS in 2006. Also check the cambelt has been changed as this is due at 60k :) :)
  4. If its an old code then it wouldn't make the light come on and it would be stored as history on the ECU. The light only comes on when the ECU registers a current fault. Also if the fault isn't detected after turning the engine off/ on 3 times then the light goes out by itself and stores the code as history. Unfortunatly if your light is on permanently then it's still registering a fault.
  5. I always mix up fuels as well, maybe it was that and not the Bosch plugs. I've only used higher octane for the last 4 months. I also get about an extra 100 miles from a tank on higher octane.
  6. Wow it sounds like its been a nightmare! Not the experience you should get after buying a Lexus! Have you checked what spark plugs are in it? It's a long shot but I had all the symptoms you are describing after fitting a set of Bosch plugs. It did not like them and would struggle to start but was fine once going. I changed them to denso and it's never struggled since. I know this probably isn't going to be the problem but it can't hurt to check and it sounds like your running out of ideas! As for the prolonged rush of air when you undo the fuel cap, that's completely normal.
  7. Hi there. This question has been asked a few times on here and I'm afraid the answer is that it's not possiable without a lot of work and expense! It's def not just a case of plugging it in. Needs new wiring etc. There are people that have done it but they all say it's a complete arse ache and it'll cost ya! Not really worth it either as the OEM Lexus sat nav from the 200 and 300 isn't that good.
  8. Not 100% sure but I think the length of the blade is down to the year of the car not if it's a master or a valet key
  9. I don't think many people would have done this themselves as its a re call issue on the 2nd generation IS and Lexus do it for free.
  10. A lot of Lexus wheels will fit. For example my mate has a set from a GS300 on his IS200!
  11. They only came in 18" I believe. There are 2 sets up for sale right now on a well known auction web site. Not meant to post links to sales I don't think.... So search yourself :)
  12. IS200 has deadlocks. I believe these are impossible to "pop" or "pick" as the only way of unlocking them is with the remote key. You can't smash a window, reach in and unlock the car from the inside.
  13. Sounds like that's your master key. Maybe the lock on the glove box is broke that's why your key won't work in it. To check if it's a master key or not simply put it in the ignition. If the red security light on the dash goes out the instant the key is inserted into the barrel then it's a master key. If the security light stays on for 2-3 seconds it's a valet key.
  14. It's registering a fault then. You need to get a proper diagnostic done. It's your only next step option. My advice is take it to Lexus. It's £50 which is steep I know but for that they'll tell you exactly whats wrong, what code it's giving and what you need to do to resolve your problem. Your under no obligation to get them to carry out the work, you can just say thanks and walk out and get it done cheaper by an independent. Take a quote from them tho as I found them to actually be very competitive.
  15. It was a Peugot not a Lexus. Won't get far without smashing windows on an IS even old 1st generation ones.
  16. Excess brake dust and squeeling..... What a load of s@#t!! Lol..... :)
  17. How is it illegal? I thought that as well but I've been told by an MOT tester that it's not! Ive also researched on line and cant find anything concrete that it is actually illegal! Lots of people saying without headlight washers etc it's illegal but I can't find an actual law saying it is. I've even been through the MOT testers manual and in the bit about headlights it just goes on about correct dip and alignment. Absolutely nothing on HID kits being a fail! Confused as I have a HID kit fitted to mine. It is yet to go through an MOT with the kit fitted as in only did it a couple of weeks ago. But the garage I asked never fail cars with HID kits as long as the alignment is correct.
  18. Hi. Yes Steve is correct. The crack sound your hear from the dash was a re call issue with the 220d and very common. If you have full Lexus service history I would have thought that would have been noticed by the previous owner and sorted out by now! I'd call your nearest Lexus dealer, should be a free repair.
  19. Hello and welcome. You need to get a diagnostic done by plugging the car into code reader. it's just guess work until you get the fault codes. :)
  20. When my light came on I also re set the fault to get the light to go out. It came back on 2 days later. Did the same again, came back on a week later. Chances are it will come back on showing the same code so you will need to get it sorted. As Steve said, use a genuine Lexus/Toyota part. More expensive in the short term, cheaper in the long term.
  21. This is what I mean. "next" and "previous" are covered by an add for "lowest prices gauranteed"
  22. Also on the mobile version the buttons to go to the next page or previous page are covered up by an advert 95% of the time! So annoying as you can't get onto the next page! Grrrrr!!!
  23. I'm at a loss then sorry. Mine behaved a bit like that for a while, no warning lights but it wouldn't pull uphill in lower gears and sometimes felt like it was struggling to pull. It would always rev over 5000rpm tho, it could always make the red line. I cleaned the throttle body and it cured it. Hope you find the cause and get it sorted. Sorry cant be more help.
