  1. You right.... Audi is a swear word! Yuck! Sorry fella but I love the look of your Lex, hate the look of that Audi! Lol :)
  2. I don't know how easy it is but it can be done with a dual filament bulb and some re wiring as I understand it so they work as brake lights and fog lights so not an MOT fail. :) I also want to do this but haven't looked into yet in any real depth.
  3. Hi and welcome to LOC. 10 years, so with your mileage I think your ok for a bit :)
  4. Haha I watched this after you posted it this morning :) Amazing cars... Makes you want to go mad with the credit card!
  5. HID headlamp kit? Tinted headlamps and tinted rear light cluster? Yellow fog lights as on the 300? Change the puddle lights in the front doors from red to green? De badge the boot? looks cleaner. De badge the front middle grill Lexus badge and just have the sport badge to the right? Square front number plate? Carbon fibre bonnet? I've seen this on a green IS before, looks amazing! Gear knob? I got a great chrome one from fleabay. In my opinion your IS with the factory fitted kit and wheels looks great and ive never seen black Aero alloys before. change the TRD kit for TTE bumpers??.. I prefer the TTE kit, but I'm biast as thats what I've got lol :) I've seen some mad 200's on here, have a look at monster matt's, Ormi and Spatkystav's cars. They look great and you can tell a lot of money and hard work has gone into them.
  6. I also want my car as good as it can be that's why I told them to flush it. But if a Lexus mechanic (not the service manager) tells me it's not worth it then I believe him :)
  7. I've read all the same stuff as u mate that's why I asked Lexus to flush it and put the Toyota stuff in it. But they said its not worth it so I didn't. :)
  8. The IS does smoke a lot mate especially after being stood for a while and in cold weather. As long as the smoke is white your ok :) I put mine in for the MOT on a cold morning, it was bellowing white smoke out of the back but passed the emissions test no problem! If there was something wrong with one of your CAT's or exhaust system then normally this would be picked up by a sensor and send your engine managment light on or so I've been led to believe. Search this forum for white smoke IS200 and you'll see that a lot of people have been worried about this the same as you but it turned out to be normal :)
  9. Try that well known Internet auction site :) I had to replace that on my IS after cracking the plastic. Whole new light unit needed, £154 from Lexus. Got mine for £68 on fleabay, genuine Lexus part brand new :)
  10. That's brilliant thanks :) One of my pet hates of my car is how the seat belts don't go back by themselves. Thanks a lot
  11. Coil Packs are crazy money tho mate, about £100 each! Thing is if you by second from a breakers for £30, £40 or £50 then you'll prob just have to replace them again sooner rather than later. I tried to get coil packs done cheap and ended up just paying more in the long run. There may be some members in here with brand new ones knocking about but you'll be lucky. Also, use genuine Toyota/Lexus ones cos again if you buy cheaper ones then you'll end up needing to replace them sooner rather than later :)
  12. So it would appear cruiser mark that your changing your air filter and cabin filter for no reason! Lol. This is for an IS tho not an LS but I bet for filters etc there's not too much difference. I personally don't think you can change your oil and oil filter too much. I change mine every 4-5000 miles. Also gives me something to do on a boring Sunday :)
  13. The Toyota stuff is about £15 for 5litres and is red so will leave a pink residue where there is a leak. I used halfords pink stuff tho for £11 as Rigga955 did, this also leaves a pink residue where there is a leak and I asked Lexus when I had a service to flush it out and put the proper Toyota stuff in. They said there's no point, the halfords stuff is just as good so I use that all the time now :)
  14. All you guys have to do is look in the service book. It'll say in there what service schedule is and what they change on each service and at what mileage/age belts etc should be replaced at. It does in my IS service book anyway. Cambelt on my IS is 60k or every 10 years and auxiliary belts are also 60k/10 years. And for example it says air filter every 40k or 5 years, diff oil every 50k or 5 years, oil and oil filter every 10k or 5 years and so on....
  15. Hey no worries mate. Just a quick thought, do you drive with the A/C on a lot? Cos that will cause water to drip from underneath which is perfectly normal :)
  16. I totally agree! Best system I've had as standard in any car by a mile. Also mine works perfectly. Lots of reports of the CD player giving up and having the error code come up on the display. This did happen to me once, it wouldn't play and displayed error 3 but I just turned everything off and back on again and all was fine. That was 6 months ago and I've never had a problem since. I know of two types of head unit. They are pretty much identical but In very early models T, V and W Reg so 99/00 it had the CD load tray at the bottom with the tape deck on top. On Later models the CD was on top with the tape deck below as in mine. I don't know the reason for this but I noticed it when test driving a few older ones when I was looking to buy.
  17. I wish I hadn't put TTE on my name now! I only have the body kit not the supercharger so please nobody get confused and I have never claimed to have a supercharger! I only put TTE on the end of my name because chrisIS200Sport was already taken! Lol :)
  18. Jenson Interceptor IV, I never knew they made that one, heard of 1,2,3 and the FF but not a 4? Here you go....... :) The Interceptor was briefly re-introduced in the late 1980s as the Series 4 (S4), as a low-volume bespoke motor car marketed in a similar way to Bristol. Though the body remained essentially the same as the last of the main production run of series 3; the engine was a much smaller Chrysler supplied 360 cubic inch (5.9 litre) which used more modern controls to reduce emissions comparatively and still produce about 230 hp. In addition, the interior slightly re-designed with the addition of modern "sports" front seats as opposed to the armchair style of the earlier models.
  19. Let just say after following most threads on the IS200/300 forum that Matt-C and Noby76 don't see eye to eye on most things! Lol.... :) Stay out of it when they start disagreeing!! :) :)
  20. Hi and welcome. I also used to have a maxima QX. 3.0 V6. It was a great car and where I got my taste for a bit of luxury! Auto box went on mine tho. £1800 bill so I scrapped it as it was prob worth £500! The Lexus your looking at sounds like a good buy. Don't be put off by high mileage, these cars are bulletproof if maintained correctly :)
