  1. A member fitted this to his IS. It got the thumbs down lol
  2. I'd wager you have 2 master keys so jackpot! :) :)
  3. Can't really compare the 2 cars. Not a fair comparison. LS is in a different class and from what I've read on here it is the quietest, smoothest car ever made :) Any news on your pride and joy or the crazy woman Maduggo?
  4. Totally agree Matt £100 is still too much but it's supply and demand. £100 is top whack what I'm prepared to pay hence I still don't have one as they all seem to sell for around £150! :(
  5. Yes Ray that's the going rate. If you get one for £100 consider it a bargain!
  6. Just a thought Ray make sure you have at least 1 master key with it or you'll run into all sorts of problems getting a spare. More than 1 key is preferable but if it comes with only 1 make sure the casing is black this determines the master key :)
  7. Congratulations fella, I'm sure you won't be disapointed :) Get some pics up!
  8. Sorry to hear about your mis fortune. Must have took a lot of self control not to give her a slap. Respect to you for that. If I'm in that situation I hope I can show the same level of restraint as you did. As for Messi saying the IS200 is the worst Lexus ever... I'll have some of whatever you've been smoking pal, cos your away with the fairies! Lol.... :)
  9. Your voltage readings are exactly the same as mine and my battery is only 5 months old. Mine starts pretty much instantly but I use the car every day. Last weekend I didn't use it for 2 days and it was a little slower to start than normal come Monday morning and it was very cold outside. It took about 2-3 seconds to start. Also I have had one instance where it took over 5 seconds to start. This was after parking it up for 3 days last month when we went away for the weekend. It's not done it since and it was also very cold I remember.
  10. Hi and welcome :) Same here, my wife also thinks I'm sad. lol
  11. No worries that what this club is all about :) :) Well it would appear you are capable of putting the sat nav in... Fair play to you mate. For advice seek out the members that have done it as I have no clue in this area. Sparkystav is the guy for this, he's a bit of a Guru with all things IS200 and the term Stav Navs has been used more than once lol :)
  12. Sorry, it's just I saw one on there a few days ago and it looked great but they were breaking it and I couldn't understand why or see why and they didn't say why! Sorry to mis lead you
  13. Hi well there's no known cure for the CD player as far as I know. As for fitting a OEM Sat nav.... Forget it mate unless your an expert auto electrician. It's not really possible without a lot of time and money. It's def not plug and play. If the car didn't have say nav from the factory then fitting one is a nightmare. Where did you see that it looks straight forward. Its far from it!! There are many threads on here of what an absolute pain it is to do. You have none of the wiring back there to do it etc... Here read this http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=77914&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 As for coding, no the stereo is not coded on the IS and if you wanted to swap your stereo to an aftermarket one then this is pretty easy and is plug and play.
  14. There's a blue IS200 Sport being broken on fleabay. It's been on there for a few weeks now so prob most bits gone but worth. I'm not gonna put a link up, don't want to get in trouble lol. :)
  15. Hello Ray and welcome to LOC. :) I own a Y plate 2001 IS200 Sport. Best car I've ever owned by a long way. 2 problems with the car which are very common are sticking brake callipers and the CD player not working. If its got any kind of vibration through the steering wheel especially between 50-60MPH and juddering on braking then these are the signs. This thread should help you. There's also an IS200 buyers guide on here somewhere but I can't find it right now. Good luck :) http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=69388&st=45#entry792660
  16. Yes only paid up gold members can sell on here!
  17. Lol I knew you'd be back :) :) So the Suburu not floating your boat? Can't help with the GS questions sorry. Im sure a GS owner will tell all. I think you'll be a Lexus owner once again soon tho... :) I'm still gutted I missed out on your 300... I really should have given it more serious consideration considering the ridiculously low price you sold it for! All the best, hope you get the lex you want. I'd love a 450h but still out of my price range!
  18. Yeah I think your right. Proper Xenon are HID. But you can by HB3 and HB4 bulbs labelled "xenon" but are gas filled halogen as you say. They are marketed as "xenon" and "no need for HID kit but the same result" etc... In my opinion these are nowhere near as good as a HID kit but are an improvement on standard bulbs. :)
  19. Oh right sorry I should have read the earlier posts. I thought that you thought Lexus sold an IS300 Sport. If you want to call your car an IS300 sport that's your buismess, you'd be wrong but it's still up to you what you call your car. My mrs and nephew call my car Larry, Larry the Lexus! Lol :)
  20. Yes but the debate isn't weather your car is sporty Noby or carries the sport trim that the is200 sport does, we all know it does fella. What people are trying to say is that your car was never sold by Lexus as an IS300 Sport. Its an IS300 and whoever bought yours added the styling kit and bigger 18" wheels as optional extras. On your V5 document what does it say? Mine says Lexus IS200 SPORT. I bet yours says Lexus IS300?
  21. Aux belts are so cheap! Go to main dealer. I got all 3 fitted in less than 45 mins for £55! Happy days! :)
  22. I only just looked at your photo on a proper computer not my phone. Didn't see all the pink deposit last time. Whoops. Looks like you have leak, might be the water pump on the way out. So I'd second exactly what petayV8 said :)
  23. Interesting statement... So what problems will it lead to? I had mine done 19 months ago and I havent encountered any issues whatsoever... I didn't say will cause you problems, I said could. I don't know what problems, but this is what Lexus told me when I asked why they couldn't just flash it and re set all new keys to it.They also said they 'couldn't' flash it and that you can't do that. Again this is just what I'm told and not my opinion or statement! I've also been through this problem so I'm just relaying what I've learnt and found out via Lexus, this forum and key specialists. I followed advice on here which led me on a wild goose chase and I eventually ended up back at Lexus. I had a locksmith say he could do it but he couldn't. I only had 1 valet key for our old IS200 SE, so I was scared of losing it and having no keys. In the end because it was such a headache I sold the car with just the 1 key to an unsuspecting lad. I felt bad about it but he bought with 1 key and now its his problem.
  24. Ok fair enough... But Lexus won't do this will they? No, and why not? Because 'flashing' your ECU can lead to more problems..
