For £1000 you can't be that picky but I think you can get better than that. As said before no reference to service history/ belt change. Don't like the fact that he's 'lost' the MOT. Also it's only a S model. So no leather, no electric heated seats, only a 6 speaker stereo not 8. I'm sure a SE with similar mileage and price will come along that has a service history :)

I had one on a 48 hour test drive from Lexus Swindon a few months ago. I came to the same conclusion as you and even wrote a post very similar to yours. It didn't go down well with the CT owners but you have to admit its more of a ford focus than it is a Lexus!

I just sit in mine playing games on my phone with everything turned on until it all clears. Lol :) Takes about 10 mins and away I go. Never scrape my windows. Too cold for that :)

Yours being a diesel will take more than double the time to warm up as a petrol car does. I don't know why but I have always found this. My petrol IS is up to full working temp within 3-4 miles! :)

If my 2001 IS has it then my money is on your 2011 IS having it :)

Just ordered a bottle after reading this. Thanks for the link :) I've got an annoying Draught that whistles when I go above 40mph coming from my drivers door. Hope this cures it.

I don't know to be honest Matt. I got a mate to fit it as I'm rubbish at that stuff. Maybe a placebo affect, maybe he did a poor job of setting it up all I know is I wasn't happy with it so I got it took off. Plus all the talk of needing headlamp washers to pass the MOT which I don't have and some members saying their illegal due to scatter etc sort of put me off. I don't want to be pulled by PC Plod at midnight on my way home from work for illegal lights. So I bought a set of those xenon looking ones last week. I like them and like I said I'm very happy with the full beam. So that's why I said its best to make your own mind up :)

Wow 353k miles! That's seriously impressive. What a good car the 5 series must be! I've never owned one, had a 3 series for a bit but I didn't like it. It had 100k on it and gave me nothing but grief! :( It looked good tho... I found that everybody thought I was a bit of a nob head just for owning a BMW, I don't have that problem with the Lex. In fact a lot of people compliment me on the car... That never happened with the Beemer! :)

Ahh gutted!! How much for the front callipers? How old are they? New/used? Reconditioned? I need a new passenger side calliper. I have a brand new one on the drivers side and the original on the passenger side resulting in a terrible brake imbalance!

What's wrong with your Beemer then? How come your breaking it into a million pieces?

I'm with esure. I'm the same as you, a little younger lol, but 10 years no claims, no accidents but I did get 3 points a couple of months ago for speeding but my insurance didn't increase strangely! :) Not sure what mine is exactly without digging out my documents but it's £38. 65 a month and I had to pay 2 months upfront :)

How is that possible?? Lol... well, one friend is paying £4000 for a 1.3 classic mini, one is paying £3000 on a 1.4 saxo, £2000 on a 1.1 saxo haha im paying £1600 :) Wow those a crazy insurance prices! They really hit young lads hard with insurance! When you get to 33 like me mate you forget what a pain getting cheap insurance can be. I pay just over £400 fully comp. :)

Unlucky fella, absolutely gutted for you. I'd be inconsolable if that happened to my Lex! Was there no warning to get your car out if the way? Hope you can get some decent money for the parts at least! I'd be interested in your spare wheel as I notice you have the 18" Aero alloys same as me. I took my HID kit off, full beam was better on halogen and as I live in the middle of nowhere and drive 80% of the time at night i wanted a good full beam. dip beam however is a million times better with HID's but it's down to what you prefer. I have the xenon look gas filled halogen bulbs in mine now. Better than standard halogen and the full beam is amazing. They look a lot better than standard halogen as well, bright white and not yellow. I really like angel eyes and am considering fitting these :)

Not that good to be honest that's why a lot of members fit HID's. If not HID kit try the xenon look gas filled bulbs. There's a bit of debate on what's best. Best to make your own mind up :)

1. No 2. Sounds like a big job, good luck with that! 3. You can fit a HID kit but in your 2001 halogen bulbs are standard. 4. No Hope this helps. :)
