  1. 100% certain that it's meant to come on when you open the boot regardless of any other factor :)
  2. Yeah you can recondition them and even buy reconditioned callipers from eBay for about £100 a piece. I just don't trust them personally but most members to be fair recommend them. I put a brand new one on the drivers side when it stuck so will do the same now to the passenger. One good thing about all this, It should solve my on going problem of a severe brake imbalance. Since fitting the new calliper on the drivers side, if I brake hard it pulls awful to the right! Always look on the bright side Lol
  3. Ray, The lights behind the A/C controls can be can be changed my mate says but are a complete pain to do. Prob a 5 min job for a man of your expertise! Not sure about the stereo. Their the only bulbs still standard on his altezza and if he successfully does his he'll do mine :) agree about the Audi DRL's not a fan sorry Lovin all the other mods especially the callipers. My mate put LED DRL'S in his fog lights. Looks brilliant!
  4. Loving the blue lights on the dials. A friend of mine is doing this to mine as I'm rubbish at electrics for tenner! He's fitted rainbow ones to his Altezza :)
  5. It's pretty bad I'd say off such a small engine. Some consolation for me is that I had a 740i before (BMW E38 7-Series 4.4L) and that was bad on fuel. I have no sympathy for you that was 32 valve V8 monster its designed to drink a lot of fuel :) .. i bet it had some go aswell when u planted the pedal !!Chris looks like the 3 litre IS is the way forward if they both return the same mpg... Can't argue with that Noby! I do wish I'd looked at some more 300's! I think I will end up owning one one day :)
  6. If my boot is open then my door open light is on on the dash. If I open it with the key fob keeping the rest of the car locked and I look inside then the door open light is on on the dash. My boot light also comes on whenever the boot is open, even if the rest of the car is still locked :)
  7. Their about the same Noby. I Drove in tandem with my mate who has an IS300 from Brighton to Bristol. We filled up in Brighton and both had pretty much the exact same fuel left according to the gauges when we arrived at Bristol! :)
  8. Posted in the wrong section sorry. Mods can u move thread to appropriate place. Thanks :)
  9. Toyota, they'll never learn about the sticking accelerator! Lol.... :)
  10. My IS is thirstier than any car I've ever owned including a 2.5 litre 3 series BMW, 2.0L Honda Accord, 2.0L Primera EGTE, and to top it off I think it's thirstier than my dad's old Nissan 300ZX twin turbo pushing 350BHP! Driving steady in the 300ZX I could average 26-28mpg. Foot down was about 5mpg to be fair tho :)
  11. Yeah mines the same ray. The light doesn't come back on until I open the door. Our old one did this as well. Pretty sure it's normal :)
  12. Hey guys, I'm so wound up right now. The sticky calliper had struck again. Noticed my car struggled to pull in 6th at 60mph tonight. Got home and the car stunk of brakes! Also the passenger side front wheel was red hot and was kicking out some intense heat! Also it was covered in brake dust! So 99.9% certain that the calliper has seized again! I Had the drivers side stuck on about 5 months ago. I know I should have replaced them in pairs but I really couldn't afford it at the time and now I'm paying for it! I love this car but why couldn't they fit it with decent brakes? I drove my Honda for 80k miles and those callipers were fine. Within 5000 miles I've had both front ones stick! Not Happy! :(
  13. I used to do the same, brim it on pay day! Until someone pointed out to me that I was then carrying around a hell of a lot more wait so using more fuel! I put £30-40 in at a time now. Can't say I've really seen a difference in my pocket but every little helps. Lol :)
  14. Yeah it's a shocker mate. The only way I can get decent MPG is to sit at 60mph in 6th gear on the motorway! But I hardly ever use the motorway! Lol..
  15. Sorry to hear your troubles with car. I see you IS220d experience has put you off owning another Lexus. It really shouldn't. Lexus made a mistake with the diesel and your not the first person I've heard say that they've lost faith in Lexus as a brand because of it. There's a reason why Lexus don't offer a diesel in the range anymore, their rubbish at making them! Petrol engines however are their strong point. They also seem to be using hybrid technology to its full effect and are a market leader in this technology. I wish Lexus had never attempted making a diesel. It's done untold harm to the company and brands reputation as solid, bulletproof reliable cars. I hate to say it but if you had bought a 250 instead of a 220 I think you would have a different opinion :)
  16. I did a little expirent and put in £30 from light on a few days ago. Just got home and the Lights just come back on and I'm on 144 miles and that has been all town and country driving. No motorway or fast A roads. You can add another 7 miles onto that as I'm just under 7 miles from the petrol garage. I'll fill up tomorrow :)
  17. You'll still be driving the IS in 10 years then... It's not gonna break! :)
  18. Nah they were stainless steel. Mines still on the original from the factory nearly 12 years on. Your exhaust is not gonna be shiny silver after a few years. It will discolour and can even get rust spots on the surface which will clean off and not corrode the exhaust :)
  19. Yeah had tensioner and idler done with mine. I found that if you use a main dealer then the first quote they give you is ridiculous and you have to use the term "is that the best you can do" lol :)
  20. Fair enough. I wish I had the know how but I am learning. Changed my own brake pads a few months ago! Lol :) I only took it to Lexus as my dad paid for the service as a wedding present :) Got ripped off for cambelt lol, I had the same done at Lexus for £390. You could get styling kits as optional extras as i understand it. TTE or TRD are the ones I know of. Don't know if there were more. Mine had the TTE kit fitted and I have TTE badge on my rear spoiler There's nothing different under the bonnet. I have the same engine as you and the same level of trim inside as a Sport. Yours looks like TRD bumpers at the front and side skirts. Not seen many with that spoiler. Gotta be honest, not a fan Mine also came with 18" aero wheels which were an optional extra. :)
  21. Really? They blow like mad in the cold. Bet you notice now lol :) Why don't you think you have a stainless steel exhaust? They were standard.
  22. Honestly Ray, no idea. Sorry bit mis leading, what I should have said was I paid Lexus to do it for me. Had the 10 year/100k service done in October. Lexus were only a few £ dearer than an independent and they changed 3 bulbs for free (2 inside and a number plate light) and threw in a free air filter (£30 normally from Lexus) as they don't do this on the 100k? But I asked nicely and I'd put a bit of buisness their way with new keys and aux belts. it also came back spotless inside and out and even the boot as I got some mud in there from my footy boots. I was very happy and it was like getting a new car :)
