  1. If tried one of these. It worked fine. Not great sound quality but still ok. I did notice that unless your music storage device they your connected too (iPod, mp3) isn't on and playing when you connect the tape to it then the tape ejects itself and switches back to the radio.
  2. Hello and welcome :) The CD players are notorious for breaking. :(
  3. I asked my wife if she wanted to come. "get up at 6am on a Sunday to go and watch a bunch of grown men drool over lumps of metal" was her reply lol! Pretty sure I'll be on my own :)
  4. I had that on my Saab Convertible. They had to be divorced and married before they would work in another car. Same on my old Primera! Lol :)
  5. Here you go. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=73307&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 I wasn't completely correct. You have to make sure their the same model number or they won't work :)
  6. Agree with Steve. I change every 60k, 6 years even tho my handbook says 100k. I also change any Auxillary belts every 60k. As Steve says change the idler and tensioner that's the expensive bit! I didn't change my water pump as it was in perfect working order with no leaks etc..
  7. I'm not 100% sure but I'm sure I've read you can't fit a standard stereo from one IS into another, won't work. I may be completely wrong tho
  8. I thought so to be honest! This makes me so angry! There's some right swines out there. Hope the code is nothing too serious. Let us know what the OBD reader says.
  9. I'm just thinking, when you turn the lights on as in Matts picture does the check engine light come on? (top right of the dash) Reason I ask is when the car does throw up a fault code then the the check engine light comes on and the trc light flashes. I'm just thinking If somebody sold you the car with a fault present and just took the bulbs out of the trc light and check engine light as it sounds like your traction control is working fine.
  10. Haha just seen your in Yorkshire! Bit far to pop round! Thanks for the offer anyway mate Lol :) Does look good tho.
  11. How long did it take you? Fancy doing mine? Lol :)
  12. I don't know why people are so scared of main dealers? Their not highway robbers you know. Sure they can be expensive but only if you just say yes to first quotations etc.. They will negotiate just like any other buisness! If I had a problem like yours with my brakes I wouldn't have gone to the monkeys at halfords! Take it to Lexus, get them to diagnose the problem correctly, get a quote from them and then go off to find it cheaper at an independent! :)
  13. Did you park next to an IS200 Sport? That's 30mm lower than an S or SE :)
  14. I have to agree, it's a little quiet on here. I guess it's because there aren't as many Lexus on the roads as there are BMW or other makes of car so less owners to join the club lol I'm a member of 2 other Lexus forums but the LOC is by far the most informative and friendly. I want to do the fog lights to brake light conversion. Or what about changing the fogs to reverse lights and putting clear lenses instead of red? Put the fogs where the reverse lights are? Just an idea but I think that would look great!
  15. I had this on my Honda. I could faintly hear it on full blast. Turned out to be a loose connection at the back of the head unit. Sorry cant be more help, I'm rubbish with electrics :(
  16. It's irrelevant to me really, the summer is sooo far away! I might even have a different job by then! Lol... Just stay away from 15th September, my wedding anniversary! :)
  17. I would appreciate it if it could be on a Sunday. My only day off of the week :)
  18. That is a quality install Ray. Enough respect fella to go to the time to do such a comprehensive right up with pics as well. I'm sure this will be invaluable to members who want to fit the same. I for 1 am glad you bought a Lex, I can see your gonna be a very valuable member to this forum :) Oh and Yeah your IS looks tiny compared to the 5!! Lol...
  19. Hi Ted welcome to LOC. The guys in the LS forum know their stuff :)
  20. Yeah but there's nothing rare about that particular 300! Except maybe the wheels are different and it's green! Lol... Now if it was a supercharged or Turbo'd 300 pushing 400 BHP that would be rare! :)
  21. It might be coincidence Chris. I'm not sure and it could be a possibility but I'm thinking if you take it round the track on a track day then the brakes get rather hot too and don't let tyres down. I had this a few times and had the rim cleaned up on the inside and been fine after. Could just be corrosion of the alloy inside. Hope you get this sorted soon! I thought that Ray might just be coincidence! But after reading threads on other forums such as Ford and Mazda it seems quite common for the affected wheel to go flat after getting up serious temperature. I mean my alloy wheel was so hot last night that I couldn't touch it with my hand! And the smell was of the scale! When the drivers side stick it got nowhere near that hot! Should all be sorted by Friday afternoon :)
  22. I'm all for second hand parts Noby but when it comes to brakes I'm not! I have to have brand new ones, it's just the way I am and nothing will ever change that lol. I had a horrific crash in 1999 in Dartford tunnel where the brakes went on me at 80 mph and I lost control and hit the wall hard! I woke up in hospital 3 days later! I'm overely paranoid with brakes since! Thanks for the offer but I've already ordered a new calliper from Lexus (£200) Ouch! It'll be here by Friday and my mate is gonna help me fit it so no car over Christmas.
  23. Oh it just gets better!! Gone out to car earlier, flat tyre on the sticking calliper wheel! Must've got so hot last night it's expanded the tyre and let the air out! There's no puncture, just come back from kwik fit after fitting the spare. they say the tyre is fine! Need this fixed ASAP! :(
  24. No it was Matt-C who posted all the bulb types. That could have done with a pin in it to be honest so we can all look them up quickly! :) I want my callipers done silver, if I were you I'd get blue to match the car like the OP :)
