  1. There's your problem I reckon, as said irridium plugs are needed not platinum. Platinum is less conductive than irridium. Therefore platinum plugs yield less spark than irridium which would explain your car having trouble starting
  2. Can you put some pics up of your DRL's in the fogs? I want to do this as I think it'll look better if their in a light housing and not just stuck on.
  3. Hi welcome to LOC. I remember there was also another case where the car leaked after having a new windscreen fitted.
  4. If you buy long life it'll last forever so it's worth paying a bit extra. I had a long life system on my Primera and my old man had one on his 300zx. Can't rate them highly enough. If I were you I'd go for the mid range. It'll give you a bit of grunt at high revs but still be smooth, quiet and refined like a Lexus low down the rev range :)
  5. I hate Vauxhalls, sorry just do. I think their designed literally in an afternoon! Their so ugly! I was offered by a work mate a 2.5 V6 Vectra for the same price as what I bought my Lex for. I gave it no consideration despite the fact it's quicker than my IS200 but looks nowhere near as good, is nowhere near as smooth and refined and had no extras such as my heated electric seats in my lex which I love. Not even A/C!
  6. Sorry yeah your right should've said check the battery not change. Jumped in as I saw the code and recognised it straight away. Advice stays the same tho, start at the battery as that what the code relates to. I had the same codes plus a couple more about 6 months ago and they were all thrown up because of the 1st one C1241 :)
  7. Not a member but my dad is. Brings his insurance down a little. He keeps on at me to go for it. I might do out of curiousity :)
  8. Hope that solves it Ian. They said to me if that didn't solve it then it could be ABS pump? Or ABS relays? I don't know what these are just glad all mine needed was a new battery. Hope it's the same for you. Ray, I can help you with that, I'm a computer genius as you know
  9. C1241... it is related to battery low voltage, showing signs of death. I would wager thats the cause for the other c code showing up. Not enough voltage being generated for the ABS to work properly hence the ABS code. Try changing the battery first of all, might solve all your probs. I had the same code and a load of other C codes relating to ABS and TRC. Changed the battery and all was good :)
  10. Exactly the same boat as I was I was in :( Was it a front calliper? If it was you'll find your car will pull horrible to the side that got replaced now when braking. Be careful!
  11. Hello Roberto. Welcome to LOC :) Love that GS! Looks great :)
  12. Good news fella, glad it was a simple fix. Might want to think about getting a new battery. If it went that flat then I think it's on it's last legs.
  13. The sports cross was a bit of a flop mate to be fair comparing it to sales of IS200/300 saloons that's prob why no estate on the mk2. :) Nice review fella, agree with everything you said except I have a 200 but your points are valid for both cars except the performance figures. :)
  14. The only time I've ever heard of a car completely dying like you said was on this forum and it was a 250. Their problem was a bad earth connection. Sorry cant be more help. Hope you get it sorted. Let us know what happens so this thread can help other people in the future with the same problem :)
  15. Agree, Wouldn't touch it! "Seems" fine. LOL
  16. If you want genuine Lexus mats with Lexus stitched into them then I'm pretty sure you'll only get them from a dealership. Unless some come up on fleabay of course or similar Internet auction sites. Not cheap tho, Lexus wanted £89.99 for a set for my car! Crazy price. I was lucky enough to get some on eBay for £40 :)
  17. No never been for Queens Day. Flights etc are always a lot more around then. I would like to go tho. Looks like a mental street party!! Yeah you don't need to be able to speak Dutch in Amsterdam but I like to learn and the people I try to speak Dutch to are always very appreciative that I've took the effort to attempt speaking their language :) We're also thinking of moving to Holland one day as we love it over there :) I'm also trying to learn Italian as my wife is Italian. But I find that a lot more difficult for some reason! I think I find Dutch easier because I lived in South Africa for 2 years where they speak Afrikaans which is pretty much Dutch and I picked a bit up there. :)
  18. Ik kan spreken een beetje Nederlands. Genoeg om "koffie" te bestellen in een Amsterdam Coffeeshop! ^I had to use google for spellings as that's the first time I've ever tried writing in Dutch :)
  19. Haha crazy Dutch! Are you Dutch Ray or did you just live there? My wife's cousin is married to a Dutch bloke and we go and visit them in Amsterdam twice a year. I've honestly never met a Dutch person I didn't like :) I also saw a few of these in Rome last summer. And yes I'm the fat bloke stood next to it :)
  20. Lexmanic. Just drive to the pub car park, get p*ssed and then I'm sure one of us will drive you to the hotel afterwards, I know I don't mind :) I'm sure your car will be safe overnight in the pub car park :)
  21. Yeah hotels give nothing for free. For example we had a classic car meet at our hotel last August. We charged them £500 to corner off half the car park so their cars were on their own and away from other guests and we charged them day delegate rate of £18 per person which included coffee, tea, cake and sandwiches :)
  22. I work in the hotel industry and I can assure you if you want to hold the meet in a hotel car park then we will be charged accordingly :(
