  1. Glad to hear it Stuart. I agree, very friendly, polite people on here. I was welcomed very warmly when I joined so I have tried to do the same with other new members. I joined 2 different Lexus forums before the LOC and to be honest they were full of foul mouthed, rude people who want to argue (not discuss or debate) every point you make! There are a couple like that on here but they are very much in the minority :) lol...
  2. Absolutely Ian. I have quite a good relationship with Lexus Bristol so I'm gonna give them a ring and try and book it :) Well after a couple of hours, I have to say I really like it. I think it looks great. And I really really like the back end. I honestly think its a fantastic looking car!
  3. Hello Paul, welcome to LOC :)
  4. The front looks like a new GS to me Ian! I'm loving that back end tho. Can't wait till they arrive at the dealers. I have no intention of buying one but I think I'll book myself a test drive :)
  5. That's fair enough your absolutely right. The IS eats tyres, drinks petrol and you need the geometry doing every couple of years or so or you get the infamous inner tyre wear!
  6. Here it is guys first official pic of the next generation IS So what do we all think then?
  7. I have to disagree with the 'plenty to go wrong' comment. Aside from brake callipers seizing up and the CD players packing in what other notorious faults does this car have? And when I say notorious faults I mean something that is 99% gauranteed to go wrong on every IS such as callipers and CD player! Also you say it looks dated inside and out, why do you want one? I don't think it looks dated that much. Put it next to a 99 Honda accord and see which looks dated. When mine comes back valeted it looks just a few years old as opposed to 12 years old. People also think my car cost me about 5k but it was half that! Personally I think the mk1 IS is still a very pretty car and still turns heads (well mine does anyway) I also think the design was ahead of its time with the light clusters etc.. As for the interior it's still a very nice place to be. I prefer my interior to my sisters 12 plate Kia!
  8. You could have just bought an AUX out cable and plugged it in to the back of the headinit then had the iPod connector coming out in the glovebox or under the heated seats buttons. Thought of that but i wanted more control from the head unit. Plus it looks cool when the song title scrolls along the screen! Fair play mate, yeah much better to have total control from the head unit :)

  10. My mate has angel eyes on his Altezza. Post pics up when your done. I think they look brilliant :)
  11. Why would you want to go to the hassle of removing 4 CATS only to have to put them back on again for the MOT just to save a bit on MPG? If MPG is that important that you'll take your cars exhaust system apart to gain a few more miles per tank then maybe the IS200 isn't the right car for you, maybe a Prius? Plus your damaging the environment which isn't very responsible.
  12. Haha can't believe this has made it onto the forum. I watched this live and I have been having rather heated debates on twitter with Americans who support him lol... All he did was shout down Piers and dodge the questions with stupid answers such as there's sharks in the sea but we still swim! Lol The guy is a nut job! Would you want him with his loose temper in charge if a gun?
  13. Sounds like a stuck CD as Normski said earlier. At least you know Ian's is in perfect working order. I had some back lights off him last week, top bloke, no dodgy dealings :)
  14. Pics will go up around 5pm UK time on the Lexus UK Facebook page :)
  15. Do you get error message when you try to use the CD player. I had error 1 on mine when I first got it. My mate took it out, cleaned the lens and it's been perfect since. If you read about the error 3 message then that means its pretty much kaput!
  16. I take it your talking about the exhaust. Yes stainless steel system as standard. I have the original system still fitted to my 2001 IS with no signs of it failing :) The fat end on the backbox is just a bit of trim to make it looks sporty.
  17. Hmmm now to be honest I have no idea if that'll work sorry! Your number doesn't even match one that Normski said would work so sorry but I don't know :( As I said not all Sportscross had the externsl amp from what I've learnt on these forums. I know how to tell on a normal IS, it's by checking the parcel shelf speakers have 2 sets of wiring going to them or 1 set. Don't know how to check in a Sportscross fella
  18. Yeah your right Normski it's all to do with the external amp. The reason we say the codes must match is for 100% certainty it'll work. Pretty much the S model didn't have the external amp but the SE and Sport and Sportscross did but this isn't always the case 100% of the time. Also spot on about top/bottom loader. There's no way a bottom loader will work in an 04 IS but it's ok cos Ian's is a top loader :)
  19. So according to Lexus UK we are going to get to see pics of the new IS today as its being launched at the Detroit motor show! Can't wait.... :)
