  1. ^ sorry being a div! Tried to edit after seeing you wrote you had a 250
  2. Yes Lexus do both a seat protection package and a boot protection package. Not cheap tho! Also is it for a mk1 IS? Because I don't know if they still do it.
  3. Sounds like your Turbo is shot but without hearing it everybody will be guessing. Maybe put a quick vid up of said noise?
  4. Yes you need to sort the headlights. Don't forget all the other stuff you have to have by law in the car. Such as a high visibility jacket, warning triangle etc...
  5. It's hasn't been officially announced yet but what I've read on the net is that there will 100% not be a diesel. I don't think Lexus will ever make another diesel. Also there will be an IS300 hybrid and an IS250 2.5 V6 petrol . Like I said tho that's just what I've read, don't know how reliable it is.
  6. Dual Mass Flywheel judder so I'm told. It's completely normal unless the judder is severe :)
  7. Yes I am lol. I keep looking at the pics thinking there must be something to dislike! Lol.. I'm not a fan of the new front grill but it's sort of grown on me since I first saw the new GS and this new IS looks identical to me. I found the wing mirrors too big on the 2nd Gen IS to be honest
  8. Dig up some threads from 2006 when the 2nd Gen IS was launched and all the IS owners are slating it saying its a horrible looking car. I bet they all drive one now
  9. Like I said fella a set in the condition of yours will go for £500+ Its supply and demand and the demand is high for these. Ray.... Their yours....................if I ever write my car off
  10. A good set (Refurbed) without tyres £500-600 I've seen them sell for. I've also seen a set of 4 go for £180 but they were in terrible condition.
  11. I enjoyed this last night. I don't think I could ever drive that 'death' road! Clarckson and co drove the same road on Top Gear a couple of years back
  12. You need to get in plugged into an OBD2 code reader and get a diagnostic. There's no point do anything else until you have the error codes and know exactly what the problem is.
  13. Equal gaps between beeps sounds like the reversing beep not sensors. You will def hear 2 different beeps if the sensors are working
  14. I had my Cambelt done at Lexus as I believe it's such an important part I didn't want to take any risks but thats just me. I'm not going to say its more important to go to the dealer for your major stuff as most will say don't bother and go to an independent. Anyway, dealer was £50 dearer than my local garage who I do trust for the cambelt, but they admitted they hadn't worked on many IS200's so I went to the dealer. Lexus also stamp your engine cover with the date, mileage and initials of the mechanic who changed the belt which I liked. Excellent service, nice coffee, paper, sky sports news etc :) I also had the 100k/10 year service done at Lexus. They were initially £120 dearer than my local for the same work but I haggled a little and got them down by £70. Again superb service. Also I had the 3 aux belts changed at Lexus for £55. My local garage wanted £80. I've also struck up quite a good relationship with the dealer as I've bought brake callipers, spark plugs and new keys through their parts department. I've found I get great treatment the more business I put their way as they let me test drive a GS250 even tho they knew I couldn't afford it and while I was on said test drive they did a wheel balance on all weels for £15 and washed my car inside and out. Ok it was the 28th Dec and I was the only customer for miles and just forked out £200 for a brake calliper but still.... Most people are put off by main dealers as their scared of paying over the odds but I've found Lexus will negotiate just like any other business. So that's just my experience and I've been very happy with Lexus and will continue to use them for servicing. I know the stamp in the book adds no value to my car at 12 years old but I don't go there for that. I would think most on here with similar age cars to mine will think I'm mad
  15. Hi guys, just wondering what is your opinion of these brake discs? I was round a mates house earlier helping him clear out his garage. I found these in the corner, my mate used to have an IS200 and said he bought these of eBay for £120 for the lot. He never fitted them and then sold the car and he totally forgot about these until I found them. He let me have them for nowt which was nice of him :) Their obviously not genuine Toyota/Lexus parts but would any of you fit these to your car? I'm funny when it comes to brakes, don't want to fit anything sub standard. I have brand new discs on the front but I wouldn't mind fitting the rears as I don't know when they were last done. Thanks :)
  16. Cheers fella :) Could you tell me exactly what lacquer you used? I want to do this, I've already ordered the de cals from fleabay!
  17. As above make sure yours is fitted with sensors! All manual Mk1's beep when in reverse to tell you you're in reverse.
  18. Yep, clearly not a mass produced item! It would be interesting to know how this number (20) compares to other luxury cars at a similar price point. I bet they sold a lot more 7 series beemers and a lot more S class Mercs... Thats because there are a lot more people with bad taste than good like our good selves. Mike Lol... Yes agreed :)
  19. Did you paint them while still attached to the car?
  20. Those wheels are 18" Aeros mate same as mine. Pretty much every IS owner wants a set so good luck. Their always coming up on eBay so keep your eyes peeled! :) Can't help with the HID problem sorry :(
