  1. I also live in the South. The snow is supposed to be coming straight for us!! Lol... :(
  2. Prob just a fuse. But beware, when I had a head gasket go on my old BMW the first warning sign was the heaters packed up!
  3. Yeah these are rare! We had a maroon red one parked up at the hotel where I work for a couple of days. First time I'd seen one outside of a Lexus Dealership!
  4. I've driven a lot in the snow in other cars without winter tyres. Never had a problem before but to be fair those cars were front wheel drive. The lex is lethal, 225 tyres and RWD deadly combination!
  5. Hi Gaz and welcome to LOC. Any pics? :)
  6. Couldn't get off my drive as its on a slope. Took me 20 mins of wheel spinning then another 20 mins to clear the drive with hot water. When I got on the road I was sliding about everywhere, nearly spun it. It just would not grip! Didn't think I needed winter tyres.... I was wrong. There wasn't even that much snow. This was my street
  7. Hi Tony. Welcome to LOC. Get some pics of your IS up! :)
  8. ^ well that's great but all the codes for the IS are pinned up already :)
  9. Tried it in December when we had a few cm. no winter tyres on mine! Never again!!!!
  10. Any sign of un even tyre wear shows that either your tracking, camber, geometry or all are out of place. 26k from a set of tyres!! To me that's amazing Im lucky to get 12k from a set on mine :(
  11. Waste of time in you replace it with a Dual mass flywheel. It's the DMF that makes it judder, even from brand new.
  12. Hi and welcome to LOC. I do like the blue ones :)
  13. Thanks Graham. I agree the Camry is a good looking car. :)
  14. Maybe we can all have a word with your wife for you? You may also have to find a year 1 model. Were they not USA only until 1992/1993? I'm sure the earliest LS400 I've seen is K reg. Lexus started selling LS400 in the UK in 1990. I'm pretty sure Lexus Cambridge was the first dealership in its own right in the UK (not bolted onto a Toyota dealer) First LS sold on the 5th June 1990 making it a G reg. 41 dedicated Lexus dealers on that day which had spent approx £6 million each for the franchise Wow, thanks for that Graham. Is there information available through Dvla to find out how many LS400'S from 1990 are still on the road? Try here http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/
  15. There is an art to pulling off? I let the clutch up with Hardly any rev, the car takes up the drive with little forward movement, then drive off! Presume that is the duel mass cushioning the drive? My judder is mainly on hill starts but as I said random, tomorrow she will be fine? My judder is always only on an incline. Smells a bit on a steep hill start as well
  16. DMF part only £900. nearly £2k fitted at dealer! Solid mass flywheel part only is less than half that price. I've been told a solid flywheel would work fine by my local mechanic. Lexus told me I'd need a new flywheel within 2000 odd miles as my clutch pedal squeaks quite a bit. That was 8000 miles ago and it's not deteriorated and some WD40 every now and then and no squeak! :)
  17. Yeah mine does in once every so often. If it starts juddering I just put the clutch back in and then let it out again. Seems to cure it for me

  19. See I've found the same. Just negotiate and you can get it just as cheap or cheaper than an independent :)
  20. As the title, why can we not get an ES in the UK? Why do Lexus not think there is a market for it over here? I for 1 think it's a stunning looking car.
