    I'm old fashioned and enjoy shifting so I prefer the manual. I don't think one is better than the other with these cars. The auto box is excellent. Some people complain about the manual box being a bit clunky especially from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd. Mine was really clunky when I first got it but after diff oil and gear box oil change it's a lot smoother now, just a slight thud from 1st to 2nd. The sport is only available in manual but S and SE models come with both transmissions :)

    Escort GTI... Ouch my eyes hurt! Honestly I think they were one of the ugliest cars ever made, no offence Wendle sorry :) I really like the Granada. My uncle had one when I was a kid. I loved going in it :) It wasn't the Cosworth tho but that is a good looking car. Do you still have it?

    Check the cambelt as Bash says but even if it needs replacing do the swap then book it in for a cambelt change. Lose a Vectra, gain an IS200 all for the price of a cambelt. Win all the way! As Ian says, the Lex is in a different class.

    Why am I the only 1 that likes this car :( Agree with what was said about not beating the original. I'm a little biast as I think the 1st gen IS is one of the best looking cars ever designed and I own one, but honestly, I thought that before I owned one.

    All pointless in my opinion tho. I don't know how bad your clutch judder is but mine isn't bad enough to think about replacing parts.

    No you dont need to weld. You can replace the dual mass flywheel with a solid mass flywheel

    Nope your gonna have a nasty shock sorry. The manual is £460 I believe as it has higher emissions than the auto. The auto is £270 I beleive a late November will be a 55 Plate so will be a VED band K which is £270 a year or £148.50 half year tax. Woooo lucky :)

    Yea they have major issues with callipers agreed but that's about it. Apart from callipers mine has been bulletproof :)
