  1. I have borrowed a IS200T from the dealer today, as my RX's parking sensors are having yet another hissy fit!. It is a sport model (not F-Sport). Pearl white, with gloss black mirrors and wheels. It does look nice IMO. I wish the 300h had visible exhaust tips like the 200T and previously the 250. It has twin exhausts after all - you can see them pointing to the floor under the bumper.
  2. I would suggest that you visit your dealer mid-Feb: if they have not met their quota, you might be able to get a sizeable discount off an old gen car. I did this with our local Peugeot dealer for our second car. I was offered £5k off a new car (new facelifted model too on a 65 plate!) in the last week of August, so long as I signed all the paperwork before September 1st. According to the dealer, they were a few cars off target and were canvassing all their regular customers to grab a few sales.
  3. How would you know if there is / isn't a waiting list??? Was at my dealer again this morning, trying to get a recurring parking sensor issue fixed. They now have a sonic T demo (Premier) and a black/black F-Sport in the showroom. A blue/cream 450h was being prepped up for a customer. F-sport looks nice Rayaan... ;-) (They also have a new, metallic red (not mesa) RC300h. Nice "in the flesh" and fantastic colour.
  4. I also think it is tension related. Have you noticed if your problem appearing coincided with a sudden drop / rise in temperature?
  5. I never experienced problems with the sunroof in my 400h. I wonder if issues are related to where your car is parked, i.e. near trees... I did use the sunroof fairly regularly, but mainly to let the heat escape quicker after the car was parked in the sun for a while. Also I liked the additional light it let into the car on dull days. I would have loved a 450h with the panoramic roof for that latter reason, however my two teenage sons disagreed because of the reduced headroom at the back.
  6. Ultimately it is not about how fast you can drive, but more about how quickly you can stop! Talking of which, wouldn't the high tyre pressures mentioned above have an adverse impact on the car's stopping ability and general road holding? (on the basis that you are greatly reducing the contact area between tyre and road) Are the tyres designed to cope with such pressure? For instance going around a sharp bend at speed? Are you likely to introduce new issues running at 46psi? Would your car insurance be likely to not cover you if you had an accident and an investigation was to show that used a tyre pressure so wild from the manufacturer's recommendations?
  7. There you go (did a search on "latitude"), http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/76778-tyre-recommendations http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/102688-tyre-choice http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/101365-new-tyres-time-rx450h http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/97969-tyres-again There may be other threads... Incidentally, I run mine of 35psi, although I would recommend 33psi if driving in snow as this would ensure better contact with the road...
  8. The Premier does have all the toys, but not everyone is sold on the air suspension. I tested cars with and without and eventually decided against. I found the air suspension a bit too floaty on the motorway, but also a little unsettled and jiggly on bad roads. Others find it brilliant, so I think it is very much down to personal preference. I also suffer from chronic back problems, but have found the conventional suspension excellent. In truth, I think the seats themselves are probably more relevant than the suspension itself. Do let us know what you end up choosing and why. Good luck.

  10. You may want to look beyond the car and consider the overall Lexus ownership experience, which I believe to be better than anything else on the market (as confirmed by JD Power surveys and others) My current car is my 2nd Lexus and will not be the last. Obviously I do like the cars, but even if a Lexus was number 3 out of 3 on my list of favourite cars, I would go for the Lexus every time because of the excellent service I have received from my local dealership. The dealership is always spotlessly clean, the staff friendly without being condescending, professional and knowledgeable, and they will bend backwards to accommodate your needs. Cars are always returned clean inside and out, and ultimately I do not believe that maintenance costs of Lexus cars is any higher than that of the competition, namely Audi, MB or BMW. It is always easy to meet with a service technician if you have a specific query and they routinely send you video reports if required to save you from having to crawl under the car yourself. I accept that this is unimportant to some people, and many will have a cynical view of this, pointing out that customers like me pay for the plush materials in the dealership etc. I can't disagree with that, but in my eyes, it is the same difference as staying in a 5 star hotel or a 2 star hotel. You pay your money and you make your choice. Personally I like the peace of mind that comes with owning a Lexus. I also much prefer the image associated with the brand to that of their German competitors.
  11. I too have these fitted to my car and I am happy to recommend them. There other threads dedicated to tyres on this forum, maybe you should take a look. Overall, feedback on these tyres seems very positive, and I think it is worth spending a little extra on them if need be.
  12. My contact at Hedge End has confirmed that they simply do not have the space to keep press cars and LFA. These are kept at Lexus HQ.
  13. Moving on ... now about RainX... tell us more... I have started a thread on the RX forum asking about hydrophobic products... Do you spray it or put it in the tank? More importantly do you recommend it? (I take note of Ryaan's comment that front side windows already have a water repellent coating (RX only or all Lexus models, I am not sure)
  14. Steve, I see you have the seat heater set to manual. Ever switched this to auto? I drove a GS for a while, which had this set to Auto... it seemed to take into account interior and exterior temperature and climate control settings and adjust the seat heater accordingly and worked brilliantly.
  15. I like it. It makes it look like it's got a glass roof. Paint or wrap?
  16. Hedge End is my local dealership. I'll ask my contact there and report back... although if it is true they may not want to advertise it!
  17. What about RainX? Do you use it on the windscreen also?
  18. Which do you recommend and how often? Hydrophobic spray makes the glass on your windows as slippery as Teflon: the water beads and slides off windows with minimum use of the wipers to clear the windscreen. Also prevents dirt from sticking. Supposedly. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  19. I believe Hedge End is at or near the top in sales volumes... Not sure about size. No LFA there though, sadly Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  20. Has anyone ever used hydrophobic spray on their windows / windscreen? I suspect that if it does indeed work, peeps on this forum would already have mentioned it, but yet again... Thanks
  21. This morning I saw a new, brown RX450h on the back of a transporter travelling north along the M3 and exiting at junction 6 (going to the Reading dealership maybe?) Not a colour that I would pick, but beautiful nonetheless, with real depth to the gloss showed off by the sun (sun! - remember that!?) shining on it, and actually not as dark as I was expecting it to be after seeing pictures online.
  22. CT 200h Premier's have full LED beam headlights not Xenon and do not have auto leveling. Level of the headlight is controlled via adjustments behind the headlamp units as with Halogen. Hope this helps! Hmmm... if LED do not have auto leveling, you should then find a dial at the bottom right of the dashboard - as with halogens - and use this to adjust the beam, should you not? - Or are you suggesting that the range of adjustments offered by the dial is not enough?
  23. @Rayaans... I think they are useful in the sense that they stop people driving in pouring rain without their lights on... in particular on the motorway. I think that if it is raining enough for your wipers to go to constant mode, you should have your lights on anyway. They will not improve your own visibility in day light, but will make sure you are seen by others ahead of you, but also behind you, in conditions of reduced visibility, by people who may have fogged up windows etc... I appreciate that this may be mitigated by DRL on new cars, but a large number of older cars do not have DRLs. Incidentally, our little Peugeot's DRLs also include the rear lights, which is a bit at odd with other cars where DRLs are only at the front. I actually thought there was a fault with the car... but apparently not... this is a "feature" on new '65 models! I think I may not have explained the volume feature properly. We all need to adjust the volume when we switch between USB and radio, or radio and phone, etc. This feature means that it remembers what your prefer volume is for each, so that when you switch from one to another source, you do not need to manually adjust the volume, the system will do it automatically based on your preferred setting. To illustrate... I have the volume set at: - 25 for USB - 35 for phone calls - 20 for radio If I switch from USB to radio, the system will adjust the volume from 25 to 20 without any manual intervention. If I then receive a call, volume will automatically increase to 35, and then back to 20 once the call has ended. However, you do not need to go and manually save the volume setting for each source... the system will simply "remember" what the volume was for that particular source the last time you used it and adjust accordingly. Hope that's a bit clearer!
  24. The more toys the better as far as I am concerned! - On the kids' list is heated rear seats and climate controls! We have a Peugeot 208 as a second car and this has toys that Lexus could/should consider (based on my experience of various RX models, so may be available with the IS which is more recent: - headlights that turn on as soon as the auto wipers switch from intermittent to constant - audio with separate volume memory for each source (meaning that, when you switch from AUX to DAB radio, for instance, it remembers what the volume setting was the last time you listened to the DAB radio... this applies with all audio sources including telephone, CD, AUX, FM, DAB...) - Ability to switch the head lights from the keyfob so you can light your path to the car, and customizable follow me home function (may be available on the IS but is not available on the RX at present... may have changed with the new model) - passenger heated seats that switch themselves off if they have been left on but the seat are no longer occupied - Modular boot with hooks and removable partitions - sunglasses holders ' More modern satnav graphics ...
