  1. Welcome to the club. What Mike has not pointed out is that you are expected to post pics of your newly bought RX.
  2. I have one of these somewhere that I used to use in my RX400h if you are interested. PM me your details and I'll send it to you FOC. If I can find it.
  3. Interesting post. I will be considering moving from RX to NX in a couple of years once son number 2 goes to uni, but I am concerned about the loss of power going from one to the other. I am guessing that, if I don't want to sacrifice performance, I may have to consider the 200T... I;m also guessing that, at the end of the day, petrol consumption of the NX200T won't be too far from what I have been used to in the RX450h and previously RX400h. Thoughts anyone (Rayaan, don't let me down )?
  4. NX with RX450h power train. Now THAT would be my car.
  5. Mine is a 59 SE-I, and I don't actually think there is any issue with the car itself, more with the way I am trying to handle music files: 1. I have copied 85 CDs onto a 32GB memory stick, each CD in his own folder. Works perfectly in my other car, but in the Lexus I only see 15 folders! - Any idea? 2. I have an old iPod touch which I have connected to the car. It contains the same 85 folders. First time I copied the files over, when switching the display to the relevant audio screen, the SELECT button only appeared against the track titles Following a second attempt, the SELECT button appears against the track names and the album names, still not against the artist name... which is really what I want! (Before you ask, I have no idea what I did differently from the first to the second attempt) Any idea re either 1 or 2... or both? Thanks in advance.
  6. In the absence of a Lexus dealer, I wonder if you could take the car to a Toyota dealer instead...
  7. Love it, love it, love it. I would just replace the shiny chrome with brushed metal. Bet it would look stunning in Ultra blue too.
  8. What colours (in/out) did you go for?
  9. If you do particularly short journeys, your consumption will increase: the petrol engine is relied upon to warm things up, and the colder it is the longer it will be running. Also, I guess the extra reliance on electrics - lights, heated seats, demister, etc - will also keep the engine running longer. On the other hand, once the engine has warmed up, petrol consumption should eventually even out. The longer the journey the better. 32mpg... I wish. I'm lucky to reach 29mpg. Probably because I have a heavy foot, but maybe also because I have the pre facelift model. I guess your running on a higher PSI probably help reduce your MPG.
  10. If manufacturers ever get MirrorLink - or similar - to work properly, maybe built in satnav will indeed become redundant. In my other car, I use an old Xperia Z as a satnav. I keep it in the car and use it just for that. I have downloaded offline maps onto it (Navmii), so don't need any kind of data plan, and just refresh the maps for free every 6 months or so. It is just as good as a built in satnav, shows POI and speed limits etc.
  11. True, but the RX has flappy things that fill the gap between the parcel shelf casing and the back of the seats. They allow you to recline the seats all the way the shelf casing, and when you want to fold the rear seats, the flaps just unclip by themselves. I am surprised Lexus did not fit a similar solution to the NX, as it seems a pretty cheap set up. Oh... and it's brilliant for storing golf type umbrellas!!! :-)
  12. Back to the dealer, or if distance is an issue phone them: they may be able to talk you through a fix.
  13. Michelin Latitude Tour HP. Search this forum for them... they are highly recommended.
  14. Looks great!
  15. Saw two new RX450h this weekend. A mesa red one and a dark blue one. Both were coming towards me and it striked me how similar to the NX and the RX look at first glance and from the front. I had to look in my review mirror to double check that they were indeed RXs.
  16. Only when my mother-in-law is sitting in the back :-)
  17. RX300 and RX400h have different AWD systems, but the results are essentially the same. Don't think you can really compare a RX300 to Range Rovers: these either have petrol engines that are far more powerful than the RX300, or turbo diesel engine with a lot more torque. Besides, I am not sure that in real life an extra second in a 0-60 would be really noticeable. 30-50 mph or 50-80 mph performance are more realistic figures.
  18. You may want to consider an Executive Limited Edition, which is fully loaded, including the Mark Levinson sound system, but excluding the rear entertainment system (DVD player + headrest mounted screen). This was the outgoing edition before the 450h came out, typically on a 58/09 plate. As posted above, the 100k service is expensive as it includes a cambelt change (and often a water pump change). Also check that the battery (not the hybrid battery pack is fairly recent). Problems with the battery are well documented throughout this forum. I would recommend buying from a dealer and paying for the extended warranty, and to make sure you test the car and all its gadgets. If not from a dealer, make sure you buy from a reputable garage with a good warranty. Note that Lexus offer cheaper service plans for cars over 5 years old.
  19. Nice one Dave. Congratulations. Looking forward to your first report!
  20. I think it may be worth waiting a few weeks: the plate change on March 1st may bring new cars on the second hand market, resulting in a (small?) drop in prices.
  21. Apologies for going a bit off topic, but I see the NX is now available in ultra blue and... sky blue. On the other hand, the IS is available in azure blue. Does not seem to be a huge difference between the three, although difficult to judge by what you see online.
  22. Make sure you do your homework before you launch yourself into servicing it yourself. This is no Ford Escort. If you mess something up, it will end up being far more costly than if you'd got a dealer or reputable independent garage to do all the services for you! Incidentally, brakes need far less work than on a non-hybrid car because they last a lot longer:. Lexus only use the discs and pads below a certain speed... the rest of the time they use the electric systems to brake. You really need to take a proper look and take a demo for a drive.
  23. If you are going to buy a CT with such high mileage, make sure you buy it from a reputable garage with a good warranty. Have you tried a car supermarket? As a matter of interest, have you actually driven a CT? - It is very different to a IS250!
  24. Read somewhere that Japanese and other far eastern customers are not keen on leather seats. Something to do with the high humidity and leather sticking to sweating bums.
  25. Added pic... sorry, it was dark :-/
