  1. Any car with the factory fit SatNav will have a reversing camera. Parking sensors are/were a dealer fit option. They can be retrofitted. Note that a lot of people complain that the reversing lights and camera combination is poor when it's dark (subject of the longest ever thread in this forum!!!). If you live in an area with no street lighting, you might want to locate and read this thread for ideas on how to make things better!
  2. YOu only have to trawl this forum to find plenty of entries that contradict the last statement: many report that the air suspension is unreliable and expensive to fix, with little benefit over the "normal" suspension. IN an older car, I think it could be a source of problems and a potential money pit. I too would recommend the hybrid if you can find one. Utterly reliable (note that ALL hybrid models have conventional suspension), more power, and cheaper to run even if fuel consumption is far from the official figures. You mentionned that the previous owners of the car you looked had lost the service book... did they say whether the car was serviced at a Lexus dealership? - If so, the dealer will be able to give you a full history.
  3. Have you had any problems with the rubber seals around the rear doors coming off? - I have had 3 different new RXs over the past few months and all 3 suffered from this problem and the seals were on back order...
  4. I believe all the information you required is in the attached document. Lexus RX Series III.pdf
  5. Very interesting, thanks Rayaan. I certainly was not expecting such differences between two cars with the same drivetrain. Power output and torque figures are the same, are they not?
  6. Bit late when you are referring to a post dated end of 2015!
  7. The red one is a lovely colour. Saw one only last week and I think it is a little darker than Steve's 450h above. I have only ever seen one white one in the UK and that was one of the sales staff own car at my local dealership.
  8. That is no different to any other work Lexus does on your car though... In some ways I would rather Lexus be responsible for it than a third party.
  9. Have you actually calculated how much it would cost you based on your mileage?
  10. Intesting topic... So... If I was to go to my dealership with a damaged windscreen... - would they provide an OEM, branded replacement? - would they fit it themselves? - would they bring in a windscreen specialist like Autoglass and get them to fit the OEM branded replacement they have sourced? - would they bring in a windscreen specialist like Autoglass and get them to source the replacement? - would I get charged extra than if I had gone directly to Autoglass? (reasonable assumption I suppose, on the basis that their hourly rate will no doubt be higher!) - would they just tell me to go away and seek a specialist?
  11. I second that. My 450h is black and it is more difficult to keep clean than my other car which is white. If you're lucky you might be able to find a metallic white RX450h or a metallic red one (mesa red?). These are difficult to find, especially the white one, but worth the search if you want to stand out.
  12. Thanks David... very interesting indeed. As a matter of interest, how frequent are the services, what do they consist in given that there is non conventional engine, and how much to they cost?
  13. Stunning car. Why won't Lexus have the same exhaust outlets on the 300h I don't know. They look so much better. They do have them on the RC after all!
  14. The current ES and GS seem to be of similar size from what I can gather, however I think the GS is much sharper and better looking. The ES is far more anonymous and bland. It would be good if the new car was to keep the 4 wheel steering of the GS F-Sport.
  15. I have bought two cars from Lexus Hedge End, and would not consider going anywhere else for services and future purchases. In fact, it is thanks to them that I remain faithful to the brand. Their approach to customer service is just outstanding.
  16. Looks much better than the box standard hybrid.
  17. I believe it should. Why not phone the parts department at your local dealer? - they'll tell you...
  18. Lovely car. Will be interested in a detailed review in a few weeks' time!
  19. I have had both and would recommend the RX450h simply on the basis that it is more up to date, quieter (double glazing / laminated side windows help!) and more refined. Don't forget that the RX400h is a design that dates back to 2003 (in RX300 guise). If you go for a 400h, try and source the outgoing model Executive Limited Edition, which had all the toys. If you go for a 450h, I would personally stay away from models with the air suspension. There is no noteable difference with the normally sprung car, but repairs to the suspension can be prohibitively expensise, especially considering that you will be buying a 7 year old car and keeping it for a further 7 years. I would also recommend budgeting for an extended warranty. As per Raayan's comments, I would not worry about mileage.
  20. Your car has automated climate control: You should not be turning the aircon off in the first place. It is designed to be on all the time to run efficiently.
  21. Nice colour. What were you previous two Lexus?
  22. Happy for you that it got resolved, although I wonder what would have happened if the other owner had refused to cooperate. As a matter of interest, have Lexus offered any kind of compensation?
  23. RX for one. I am not sure the number is relevant providing the light is bright enough. The IS one LED light is certainly at least as bright as the RX's two non-LED, at least in my opinion. On the other hand, our lowly Peugeot 208 has two reversing lights, rear parking sensors AND an excellent rear camera!
  24. I have a LG G4 and used it in an NX with premium nav. It picked up text messages without me having to do anything. Could the issue be with the settings on your phone rather than the car?
  25. Not usually a fan of these, but I have to admit that they look fine and blend in well. How much? Were they difficult to install? Do they really make a difference?
