  1. It sounds like you may have accidentally switched Route Trace on. Not sure without looking, but I think you need to go to Menu>Route> and there should be a sub-menu called Route Trace or similar.
  2. It was for a while, and then the land crabs sued for diffamation. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  3. That's a very interesting post: I always used Bosch Aerotwin on our RX400h and was very pleased with them. When the time came to change the wiper blades on our RX450h, I naturally ordered the Aerotwins again, however I was very disappointed as patches were left untouched on the windscreen. It got to the point that I contacted the supplier who sent me a replacement set on the assumption that the ones I had received must be faulty. I had the same issue with the replacement set, and ended up going to the dealer who fitted Denso wipers (which were much cheaper than the Bosch bought onlnine). No problem after that.
  4. They would never get there!... or at least not on time! At least if would give foreign dignitaries another reason to laugh at the Brits.
  5. New Ranger Rover Evoque Would you? I must say it looks gorgeous and the technology and infotainment system put Lexus to shame, but is that all enough to ignore the brands known reliability issues.
  6. @Ishay Do you live in a hilly area? - This would have an impact on your fuel consumption...
  7. Just so you know, the roof liner has been replaced under warranty and the sliding screen adjusted to prevent this from happening again.
  8. I have found that, if you switch the air con off temporarily, the car will stay in EV mode much longer. I sometimes do this when I am in the car waiting for one of the kids and want to listen to the radio without the engine kicking in.
  9. Yes, I did take advantage of this with previous Lexus I owned. As John stated, neither the car - nor indeed yourself! - appears to get treated any differently and the work done is of a typical Lexus high standard.
  10. Similar experience with Lexus Hedge End (Southampton)
  11. Actually, this reminds me that, the last time my car was serviced, someone must have eaten a doughnut or similar while sat in the car. I certainly was not happy because sugar was stuck in the wholes of the perforated leather and it took me ages to clean it up!
  12. I was lucky enough to drive a LC 500 (V8) for the day today, while my own car was at the dealer's. Just loved it: what a car. Could not get enough of that V8 rumble. I was amazed how easy and civilised the car is to drive in busy traffic. I also found it extremely comfortable. Not sure I would go for black myself (I love the sonic red), but the red/black interior is just stunning. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  13. Car has been to the dealer and part of the trim will be replaced under warranty. I managed to secure a LC 500 (V8) for the day... So just had to take the day off to make the most of it... Being sell employed has to have some perks Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  14. Personally, I don't mind having to move the seat back, given that they have kindly valeted my car for free. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  15. This is normal. The radar cruise control cancels out when there is too much interference like heavy rain, spray or snow, because the radar cannot accurately measure the distance between your car and the one in front. You can, however, select the standard cruise control: switch the radar cruise control on, then immediately push the stalk away from you. You will see the icon change on the dash. It's all in the manual. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  16. Vortex blue? - I cannot see this colour on the Lexus website... only Azure Blue and Sky Blue...
  17. Even though that is what the owner's manual recommends - as per above post?
  18. I remember my grandad saying the same about electric windows... Power steering... Central locking... Etc... They don't get dirty, they adjust to your needs, your speed and surroundings, eliminate blind spots... And remove the need to look over your shoulder so you can keep looking forward... Maybe... Brilliant I say! Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  19. With regards to the discrepancy between claimed and real consumption, this is common to all manufacturers and will documented. With regards to your satnav, it sounds like you may have an uncompleted route that needs cancelling. From the satnav screen, select menu, route, then delete, and finally yes. The system is not that intuitive but it's reliable enough once you get used to it. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  20. I lived in southern Germany for 9 years and we used to have similar problems with pine martens, stoats and the like, particularly in the winter. They would sleep in the engine bay where it was nice and warm... And while in there would chew cables, pipes, etc. It is a well known issue over there and you can get replacement leads covered with a plastic the critters don't like the taste of. Never heard of them chewing aerials though... Squirrels maybe? Try spraying WD-40 on yours? After a few days they should give up. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  21. Is this something you have actually measured... or the old placebo effect?
  22. I guess that, if in doubt, refer to the owner's handbook: I'm sure I saw it documented in there.
  23. #actually, I think that Lexus cars are comparatively cheap to insure: they are very reliable and, despite the fact that they are often powerful, they are not your typical boy racer cars.
  24. Same with the NX. Also, when you drive over to the continent, you have to adjust the time manually. Came back from France on Saturday and had to adjust both the dashboard clock and the system/satnav clock... and do the same again on Sunday morning. Good thing is that I gain not one, but two hours sleep. Yay! I wonder why the time change is not automated...
  25. On the other hand, I prefer the set up of the F Sport: I find the seats firm, but supportive in the right places. My coccyx area used to go numb after a long drive in our previous RX400h and RX450h, something I have not experienced in the NX F Sport. I also find that the F Sport is better controlled around tight bends and roundabouts. You should try and secure a 24 hour test drive with each...
