Geoff, you should be able to view the up-coming turns in the small screen between rev counter/eco meter and speedo. I say should, because your model is different to mine. You should just need to cycle to the appropriate screen using the steering wheel button on the right hand side.

I had a similar problem with an RX back in 2015. This is the feedback I got from the dealer at the time, which may be of interest: The sensors are made of three main parts. An outer ring, a small disc (the sensor), and in between a rubber ring. The sensor works in a way that similar to a sonar, sending and receiving sound waves. The rubber ring around it allows the sensor to register the tiny vibrations from incoming sound waves. When the 3G glass coat (clear coat protection) was applied to my car, it was also applied over the sensors and surrounding rubber ring. Over time, the 3G glass coat hardened to such an extent that the rubber ring became completely rigid, thus preventing any kind of movement., hence confusing the system. The sensors were removed, dismantled and thoroughly cleaned so as to remove all trace of the clear coat, and then re-installed. No problem was experienced after this.

Speed limiters address the symptoms... to some extent... but do not address the root causes which are embedded in poor education, ignorance, stupidity, selfishness and general lack of respect. This extends to pedestrians and cyclists who I believe should should be made to take responsibility for the accidents they are involved in if it can be proven they are at fault. Two cyclists riding side-by-side and swearing at you because you dare toot at them to get past is not right. Cyclists going through red lights is not right. Pedestrians giving you a mouthful when they walk behind a reversing car in a car park is not right. It seems to me that people are becoming increasingly quick to blame others rather than take responsibility for their actions. The wearing of helmets should be mandatory for all cyclists. It has been in France for around 40 years. Speed does not kill. People kill. Maybe, but is this not the same argument used by Americans who are until gun-control? - If ALL people were to consistently behave responsibly, but also had the same mental and physical abilities, the same altruism, etc, etc, then we would not need speed limits. Nor would we need any motoring laws. Or laws at all even? Really Linas, I have learnt to control myself and ignore your rants, but some of your comments are becoming rather offensive.

I find black interiors a bit gloomy, especially in a car like the LC. I have driven an LC with a the red interior and it did look great. I'd go for the white/red combination. Have you taken a look at the Lexus used car webpages? - You can view a variety of colour combinations on there... might help you make your mind up. Look here. First on the list is a Red/Black LC, further down you'll find a white/red car... EDIT: Oops... sorry... only just noticed that my comment came in a bit late. Good decision though 🙂

I'd recommend that you get a quote from your dealer and go from there. Lexus offers discounted services for all cars over 5 years old. -
Contacts Favourites Pictures
DanD replied to DanD's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I'm pleased for you, but that does not help me much! 😁😜 For a minute I thought you might have had it there. I have now checked my contacts in Google, but they show the correct photos. Back to square one. 😶 -
I wonder whether there is a way for all of us LOC Members to petition Lexus UK to have the upgrade - if indeed it ever comes - retrofitted to our cars where compatibility exists.

Contacts Favourites Pictures
DanD replied to DanD's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Does not appear to be. Phone does have pictures associated with each of my Favourites, but these pictures are the correct ones and different to the ones displayed on the car screen. -
I can access my phone contacts from CONTACTS. Nothing extraordinary about that. Some of my contacts are assigned as Favourites, and as such can be accessed directly from the FAVOURITES submenu. Again, pretty bog standard. Some, but not all of my favourites have a picture/photo assigned to them, so that when I call them, or indeed receive a call from them, the photo/picture pops up. Now, here is my question: None of the photos/pictures, except one, have anything to do with the contact themselves. When my wife calls / when I call her the pic of a Christmas wreath pops up, when son number 1 calls, a picture of a friend and his baby pops up, when son number 2 calls, picture of a New Forest scenery pops up, etc. For each contact, the photo/pic remains the same, but I cannot figure out where they came from and how to change or get rid of them. I certainly don't remember doing anything that would have associated these pics with my Favourites. Oddly, while all pics are familiar (places or people I know), I did not take some of them! This "phenomenon" started 2-3 months ago, and while I found it odd, I ignored it thinking that I must have done something to trigger it, and that I would sort it out later. But now that I have looked into it, I can't figure out how it happened. Note that it did not coincide with the car going into the dealership, i.e. any software upgrade. Any idea anyone!? Thanks in advance. (My Lexus is a NX300h F Sport, 2016. My phone is a LG V30)

You do not need stickers on any of the recent and current Lexus line up, whether your car has halogens, HIDs or LEDs. This is to do with the fact that, on Lexus cars, the beam is flat and does not kick up on the passenger side. Do a search on the forums... there are plenty of threads and entries on this topic, and some include a letter from Lexus UK confirming this and that you could print and take with you should you want to.

SUV comfort, touchscreens, etc... Yes, absolutely. Does it really matter whether a car is FWD or RWD these days, or whether it has 200bhp or 300bhp, when speed limits, traffic and state of the roads prevent all restrict the speed you can travel at? Does it really matter whether a car is FWD or RWD when the electronic trickery governs how a car drives anyway? The area I live in has 20mph speed limits and speed bumps everywhere. The M3 is always congested. Country roads are full of potholes and you spend your time stuck behind tractors or dodging wild life (and cyclists - not a criticism, just a fact!). So I want a car that will take me and my family from A to B safely. I want comfortable seats. I don't want to do my back in when I get in and out of the car or when I unload the boot. I want to be able to take three passengers in the back and for them to be comfortable. I want my dog to travel up front in the passenger footwell if need be. I want a car that won't break down. I want a car that is reasonable economical and quiet. I want toys to play with when I'm stuck in traffic, with a good sound system and a clear radio. I want plenty of space because I don't want to compromise on what I want to take with me when I travel, and given the british weather I want to be able to take coats, wellies and umbrellas as well as sun hats, t-shirts and flip flops. I want my kids to be able to use their laptops in the cars or to watch a film, or to charge their phones. I want a SUV because it ticks all the boxes that matter... to me at least. And I am not the only one. At the end of the day, SUVs meet most of today's requirements for most of people, and Lexus SUVs meet mine (although I do fancy an ES!), and they are no longer as uneconomical to live with as they used to be. BTW, just read that MB are going to release yet another SUV... the GLB...

I agree. Does your driving style justify going above and beyond the proven and tested specs? Are you not happy with the performance of the standard brakes?

I too would trust Lexus over Admiral. I was insured for a year with Admiral on a multi-car policy, and I found them unhelpful at the best of times., and certainly not customer-focused.- 30 replies

RX450h differences with age
DanD replied to Ian_UK's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
I think that, size wise, the Q5 is closer to the Lexus NX rather than the larger RX. Have you taken a look at the NX300h? -
I did not either, but just read about it. I did not realise it was made mandatory in all new cars sold within the EU from April 2018. I guess a requirement that may disappear when/if the UK leaves the EU.

There is a similar thread on ES300h forum. The navigation systems is largely similar in all Lexus model, so worth taking a look here.

How do I cancel route guidance and other frustrations?
DanD replied to Sloth's topic in Lexus ES 300h Club
Yes you are. Sounds to me like you need a trip to the dealers - as suggested above - and get them to guide you through the system, or spend some time playing around. When on the DESTINATION screen, go to the second page, you should find an option to enter a full postcode. The Lexus system is not the most intuitive, or the graphics the most attractive, but at the end of the day it does pretty much all you expect it to do. However, as with any other new appliance or gadget, you need to invest a bit of time to explore it. -
How do I cancel route guidance and other frustrations?
DanD replied to Sloth's topic in Lexus ES 300h Club
Pause/Resume: Go to the same menu and select "suspend guidance" Yes, you can call numbers from your contact list. Press phone button on steering wheel. Select "contacts" button on right hand of the screen, then follow prompts. Hope the above is correct as I'm going by my 2016 NX from memory. I don't think the set up has changed much since. Might be worth checking the manual. -
How do I cancel route guidance and other frustrations?
DanD replied to Sloth's topic in Lexus ES 300h Club
To cancel current route guidance, go to the satnav menu (bottom of the satnav screen), select ROUTE, then DELETE. It will delete the current guidance, but the destination will be kept in your list of previous destinations. can't help with the other query as I have an Android, rather than IOS phone. I agree, the Lexus system is not the most intuitive, but you do get used to it.
