  1. One of the issues is that HID/LED headlights have automatic levelling, which is not a requirement for halogen headlights which rely on manual adjustment (from inside the car)
  2. I think the issue is due to having a combination of LED for low beam and halogen for high beam. The LEDs are so much brighter, they make the halogen bulbs seem very dull in comparison.
  3. If the beam is flat (as already confirmed)... why would changing the headlights make any difference? - Switching the AFS off should be sufficient, surely. Any french garage that does MOTs (Controle Technique) should be able to verify and confirm whether or not the car would pass the test.
  4. I haven't got the time to review this in detail, but this looks like an interesting article that could be relevant to your problem as it also relates to Lexus models: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/toyota-recall-1-7-million-vehicles-over-brake-problems-n226086
  5. I would also raise this with Lexus Head Office and bypass the dealer on the basis that you are not happy with their response. I would also suggest that, if you do not receive satisfactory assistance, you will contact the motoring press for advice. All motoring magazines have pages dedicated to customer complaints. Raising the issue with Lexus HQ via their Twitter page is a good way to kick them into action also. With regards to the dealer, I would demand a thorough investigation and ask for a courtesy car whilst yours is being looked out. You could ask for a print out of all the tests they have carried out and asked for these to be reviewed by a qualified third party. If they are confident that the problem is fixed, they should not have any issue with one of their staff test driving the car for a few days: record the mileage before and after for evidence that the car was actually driven by them. Is there another Lexus dealer in your area that you could take your car to for a second opinion?
  6. I am pretty sure it is not the handbrake, for the simple reasons that 1) you cannot hear the parking break engaging and it would be too slow to release in traffic and 2) the brake lights stay illuminated for however long it is in use. There is a time limit, which is a few minutes minutes, after which a message comes up asking you to press the pedal and reactivate the holding feature.
  7. Because I am a Gold Member. When you become a member, you receive a Membership Card. Upon presentation, your dealership service department will add your card details to your file and then automatically apply the discount to services, repair bills, etc. At least this is the way my dealership works. Careful though... not all Lexus dealerships participate in this. Might be worth checking with them first. Also check the Gold Members tab at the top of this page.
  8. I find the service plan worthwhile in the sense that it is inflation proof and overall works out cheaper than the individual services, MOTs etc added together. Mine is substantially more expensive than yours, but this is no doubt because my annual mileage is way above average. The service plan therefore needs to include more services. One point worth noting: I got 15% discount on my service plan simply by being a member of this forum.
  9. It was... depending on the version you were willing to pay for.
  10. Yes. I was told by my local dealer a couple of weeks ago that all models from MY2017 onwards will have Apple Car Play retrofitted, as long as they have the Premium Nav system (the wide screen version) - this would include the LC. Dates had not yet been confirmed but they were hoping for October/November.
  11. Yes Father. Thank you Father. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  12. Makes the extended warranty worth the money, doesn't it!?
  13. There is a button near the courtesy light in the ceiling that allows the internal alarm sensors to be disabled when you lock the doors. Useful in this kind of situation when you go in to pay for petrol but leave a dog or kids in the car. They are enabled by default, so that you have to disable them each time.
  14. No. The system does not allow for audio to auto-mute to allow interruptions from the Sat-Nav. Older Lexus models had this functionality (although it could not be adjusted), but apparently it was removed because of owner feedback: a lot of people used to complain about the radio being muted by the satnav when they were in the middle of listening to news bulletins etc. All you can do is increase the volume of the satnav so that you can hear directions being given over the audio.
  15. This may be the case for the RX, but it does not apply to the NX. Take a look here (or search youTube for "Automatic High Beam and Adaptive High-Beam - Lexus Safety System+"
  16. I love the colour combination. The blue is a lot brighter than I expected... I'll bear that in mind! Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  17. Yes the Crossclimate + is being rolled out. Design is the same. Compound is slightly different and supposedly lasts longer. You might be able to get a good deal on "old" stock?.... Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  18. 1. This is certainly the way it works with my phone 2. I have not experienced this, however when you plug your phone in, try and change the SOURCE from Aux to USB. I would expect this to solve your problem. Worth trying anyway. 3. I don't use voice command because I find it infuriating. Might be worth going through the tutorial though, as it may answer your question.
  19. With regards to track names not being displayed, when streaming from Spotify, I have had the same issue. However, I have found that if I unlock the phone, the tracks are then displayed... even if the phone locks itself again automatically after a couple of minutes.
  20. As I said: will be retrofitted to post 2017 cars, but only to cars with the wide screen, premium satnav. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  21. I had the opportunity to drive a UX for 24 hours last week, while my own car was in for a service. I must say that I was very impressed with the car. It had plenty of go, was quiet enough and was very comfortable. It was actually fun to drive, with a go-kart behaviour similar to that of the CT. Being a smaller car than the NX, I was expecting less space in the rear (there is plenty for front-seat occupants), however I couldn't live with the size of the boot. For the time being at least, it would be too much of a compromise. The car I drove was in a gorgeous orange metallic, which I see is now available on the NX F-Sport.
  22. I was told by my dealer on Friday that they had a visit from Head Office last week and that they were told that Google maps / Car Play / etc will be available on new models (via connection to a compatible mobile phone) with the MY20. Importantly, I was also told that this functionality will be retrofitted to ALL post 2017 models... so long as they have the premium, wide-screen satnav.
  23. I also recommend the Cross Climates (I have them fitted on my NX), although I also have read good reports on the ZX7 as recommended by Rayaan.
  24. My local dealer had a visit from head office this week and that's how they found out. Stupidly, I forgot to ask when it will be available from. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
  25. My dealer confirmed today that car play and the Android equivalent WILL be retrofitted to models from 2017 onwards, but only to cars with the wide screen satnav. Sent from my LG-H930 using Tapatalk
