I didn't think the heating seats worked until someone actually sat in the seats.... Even if the lights show that they have been switched on, I believe they will not actually warm up until they detect the weight of an occupant. Is this not the case? Sent from my Galaxy Note 10 Plus using Tapatalk -

I agree. I would write a letter and include a diary of the events, listing phone calls, meetings, etc and tell them what you would like in compensation. You are in a bargaining position, so don't let them decide what that compensation may be. I would suggest that you ask for 3 years free servicing, or free extended warranty, etc. The worse that can happen is that they will say no, so you have nothing to lose. Could also ask for a hefty discount on a new car on the basis that you no longer trust your current one. Supposedly, second hand UX are in high demand... they may oblige! -
@ganzoomSorry to hear about the problems with your car. Unfortunately it seems consistent with the build quality of other US car brands. Packed to the rafters with gadgets to help while away hours of highway driving at 55 mph, but low-rent interiors of very patchy quality. I wonder whether the Model 3 will fare better.

Same: press and hold the MODE button. Quick press to un-mute. incidentally, this works in any Lexus as far as I know.

Absolutely. If fact I have been considering a Tesla Model 3, although I'm waiting to see what Lexus are going to deliver in this area. 200 mile range would note be enough for me though. Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk

If this is what I think this is, it's normal, and designed to wake you to the fact that you are approaching - potentially too fast - a stationary obstacle, a car that has stopped ahead of you, or a vehicle that is moving significantly slower than you are. The system can be overly sensitive in the sense that it can pick up cars coming the other way on narrow roads, or sharp bends. It will only prompt you if you are not already showing down. Sensitivity of the system can be amended (there are 3 levels). Not sure about the UX, but on the NX there is a button on the small panel by your left knee. Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk

Try and press the MODE button (steering wheel mounted button on the left) until mute is cancelled... although I have to say that I thought that adjusting the volume either via the on/off button or the steering wheel controls overrode the mute function.

Can you please expand on this? - Was this a replacement of the standard unit? an upgrade? - Was it fitted by the dealer? A third party? - What were the costs?

Have they at least given you a courtesy car in the meantime? My next course of action would be to ask for a meeting with the dealer principal. Prepare a list of questions for the meeting and be very clear on the outcome you intend to reach and what you are willing to compromise on. When you meet, make it clear that you will minute the meeting. I'd suggest you take a third party with you as a witness. At the end of the meeting go through your notes with the dealer principal and get him to sign them... although he may refuse to. Alternatively, send an email with your typed up notes to the dealer principal and your third party. If you are not one for confrontation, I'd suggest you send a letter recorded delivery, requesting a response within x working days. You could also tell them that you are in the process of contacting the motoring press for some advice (Top Gear, WhatCar and other manazines all have consumer pages where letters are of complaints are published and commented upon. A company like Lexus which is consistently at the top of surveys for customer service will not want to see their reputation questionned). This approach has worked well for me in the past (no, it wasn't Lexus!) You could also try and contact Lexus via their twitter feed: they are usually very responsive. If you go to the bottom of the Lexus UK website, you will find links to their social media pages. You will also find a link to their Legal pages: this contains some advice on how to complain. -

Only the top trim came with the key card. -
I don't agree with you Herbie. Low mileage in itself is not an issue, as long as the car is used frequently with the occasional 10-20 mile trip. You are more likely to have an issue with the 12V battery is the car is left unused for weeks on end.

Depending on how long you have had the car and how many miles you have covered, you may have ground to "reject" the car. I am not familiar with the process, but someone on here may be able to provide details, or you may find this online. The Citizen Advice Bureau may also be able to point you in the right direction. Not against wraps, some look fantastic, but that gold is a bit too much for me. I think I'd go for a satin mid-blue.

Yep... keep the aircon switched on and may sure your don't have air re-circulation switched on. Careful with the latter one though: it is automatically controlled UNLESS you manually select re-circulation. -
Different sensors. The lights use a sensor located behind the rear view mirror. The instrument panel, including the satnav screen, uses a sensor located at the bottom of the windscreen. It's a round black disk, about the size of a 50p coin, located either in the middle of the air vent at the base of the windscreen or on the very far left on the passenger side.

I believe that the premier trim has LED low beams and that lesser models have HID/xenon low beams. All have halogen high beams. If you look at a premier model, the indicators are positioned on the inside of the lights, closer to the grille. On other models, the indicators are on the outside.

I agree. My wife drives a Mini that has runflats. The ride, which is pretty hard on normal tyres, is very firm, and it is also rather noisy.

Apple Carplay for Lexus NX

Car play means that you are not restricted to using the car built-in systems. It allows you to use a satnav system of your choice such as Google Maps or Waze which offer more customisation options and are generally more accurate (you don't have to pay for map updates) and respond quicker to traffic conditions. Also you need to consider that, with AA or CP integration, you do not need to spent additional money for a built-in system if your car does not come with one by default. In addition, you can use Google Assistant handsfree and you can control Spotify without having to touch your phone (other music apps are available! ;-)) It's all about choice and functionality.
