  1. Simple but not good enough on a car that costs over £60k. Also, -3 (at home this morning) is cold... but not that cold. There are plenty of countries in which the NX is sold that experience much colder temperatures. I was given a NX450h yesterday morning as a courtesy car. Last night as I was leaving work, it took me 10 minutes to get into it and I was unable to give a colleague a lift to the station because I gave up trying to open the other doors. He got a list from someone else. I had the same problem again this morning. I have never encountered such issues on my previous 4 Lexus.
  2. Personally, I feel it sufficient to double lock the car (two consecutive presses of the lock button on the fob or of the "groove" on the door handle), and to then disable the key (as documented above). This is quick, practical, and does not need any additional investment in pouches (although these are cheap) or steering locks. I also disable the spare key, which has the added benefit of lengthening the life of the battery.
  3. I do not use the Lexus link, so this is a pure guess. Could it be the battery in the key fob?
  4. Is it worse than how oil is extracted and processed?
  5. It looks like I must have been lucky: the tyres are no longer listed on the Protyre website.
  6. Lexus Hedge End/Southampton currently have a V8 convertible, sport plus pack, silver over red for sale. It's on a 21 plate with 4,000 miles. £100k Click here.
  7. After a puncture in one of the front tyres, I decided to replace the OEM Yokohama Blue Earth with the Cross Climates which were fitted earlier today. As I have mentioned before, I love the x-climates and have had them fitted to my previous NX and to RXs before that as well as to our non-Lexus cars. I replaced all 4 tyres as it is best to have the same tyres all around on a AWD vehicle. Interestingly, the rear tyres appeared to have plenty of life left in them, but showed cracks in the inside of the grooves, which was a bit of a surprise. Unusually, my local Lexus dealer were not able source tyres from their usual suppliers, so I went to Protyre.co.uk, who have fitted tyres to my cars before. https://www.protyre.co.uk/search#/car/225/60/18/any/H/nonrunflat Cost was £152.00 per tyre. Note that these are Cross Climate SUV, which apparently are being phased out (which explains the reduced stock) and replaced with the Cross Climate SUV 2, which do not appear to be widely available as yet.
  8. I have purchased several cars from Hedge End and have used this dealership consistently for servicing and the odd repair and I have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, the issue you are highlighting is not currently just with Lexus, and not isolated to the car industry. It relates to the ongoing shortage of computer chips due to the huge increase in demand and the inability of manufacturers to meet that demand. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that most chips are manufactured in China, and the Chinese market itself has seen a 25% increase in demand year on year over the past 2 years. Moreover, it seems that manufacturers are also struggling in securing materials from further up the supplier chain. Current estimates suggest that it will be least12 to 18 months before the situation stabilises... but I think this is optimistic. Interestingly, this has a positive impact on the value of second cars which have seen their value shoot up recently. See: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58230388 https://www.computerworld.com/article/3648349/about-that-alarming-chip-shortage-dont-count-on-new-fab-plants-to-help-quickly.html#:~:text=A report from the US,mismatch%2C” the report stated. https://www.wired.com/story/why-chip-shortage-drags-on/ There are plenty of other articles on the web...
  9. Do you have a boot tray? - I found mine was rubbing against the hatch door.
  10. Have you checked to configurator for other Lexus models in Fuji Red? You could also check the second section and search for cars in that colour? Or google it: try this All these various pics should hopefully give you some idea. Dealerships used to have painted samples for viewing... is this not the case anymore? It is a bright red. It is also a non-metallic, i.e. solid, or flat colour, but I guess you know that already.
  11. Interesting review but I think you are a little unfair with your comments re equipment and toys. Panoramic/360 cameras and ML systems are there if you go for the right version.
  12. With regards to tyres, you will find that a lot of people on this Lexus forum love the Michelin Cross Climates. Feedback on these has been consistent, whatever Lexus model you drive.
  13. Why? - your NX already has an alarm system...
  14. Do you have a rubber tray in the boot? - I find that mine sometimes rubs against the tailgate.
  15. I have the same issue, had it with my previous NX, and RX450 before that. It seems to disappear when someone is sitting the back so I have always assumed that it is to do with the seats... maybe where the two parts of the seat backrests rub against each other. I also have a metallic vibration noise coming from the pillar, right by my right ear. I'm guessing it is to do with the seat belt mechanism. It is only noticeable when I have audio switched off though, which is not often.
