  1. I am inclined to agree that the problem is within the wheels as that is damage that the tyre fitter could have caused, there is no physical damage though. It has also entered my mind that unit suggested by Bob is causing the issue but probably less likely to be affected by tyre replacement. Assuming the issue is with one of the sensors, I'm wondering if the monitor only reacts to a low pressure signal and that if the wheel at fault is taken away from the car will the light go out? If that is possible I will remove one wheel at a time and see what happens. It's a shame I didn't think to test the car while it was off the ground with all the wheels removed.
  2. The saga continues: I have replaced all of the batteries in the sensors to no avail. The light and beeps continue, as I suspected they would when the existing batteries measured between 2.8 and 2.9 volts. I will disconnect the battery and see if that does any sort of a reset. Beyond that I think the only course of action is to go to Lexus or a specialist.
  3. Last year my motorbike holiday was a tour of Italy, likewise no booked accomodation. We went down the west coast about 100 mile beyond the Amalfi coast (which is a beautiful stretch of coastline, but was horrendous in the traffic and June heat) then across the country to the East coast which had less traffic but fewer nice towns. In summary, a beautiful country spoilt by awful traffic anywhere near a large town or city, probably better in an air conditioned / convertible car than on a bike. Many years since I went the lakes but despite the journey to and from it is lovely.
  4. If you go to Italy, be prepared for traffic jams and roads in worse condition than in the UK. I went to Lake Garda some years ago and would recommend the lakes.
  5. Passed through Austria on m/c this year didn't see any restrictions for emissions and avoided toll roads.
  6. Have just added up the countries I have visited over many years by motorbike and car I think it is 15. Last year I passed through 10 countries (not including England) on my bike travelling to Croatia and back. I would say France is by far the best country in Europe.
  7. I have removed the first TPMS sensor. Not without damage to the thread on the valve stem on removing the old fitting kit which had seized. The replacement kits I bought (04423-33060) have a larger diameter so can't check thread. However, on testing the battery it is showing 2.8 volts which I would think should be sufficient to work. I could be wrong and I am prepared to be corrected if anyone knows otherwise.
  8. Sticking front caliper on my IS300 caused wheel wobble at around sixty. Freed the caliper and problem disappeared. Lift the front and see if either brake is binding.
  9. I had a 2003 CVT Jazz as a runaround car for many years, now passed to my daughter. I would say without exaggeration that it is the best car ever made. I now have a CR-V which is a great car also. Neither have been to France. The SC on the other hand does more French miles than English ones.
  10. I think I see the point you are making. In the video I saw, I think he soldered the existing tab to the new on the battery. I will watch it again.
  11. Thanks Bob, I'll take a look inside one and decide which type to go with. Sounds like I will need to get all 4 of my trolley jacks out and get the car in the air.
  12. Incidentally, no change after battery disconnected for 10 mins.
  13. That sounds like a plan. Do you have battery details and where did you buy yours? I presume you bought batteries with tags.
  14. I don't mind soldering new batteries in the sensor, it is the breaking of the tyre bead that is the problem for me. I had considered asking if they would remove the sensors for me but I am losing faith in the garage.
  15. I was with him when he checked the sensors and he showed me the setup screen with the correct car details 06 - 10 SC430. In order to check the machine he tried it on his own car which worked showing pressure temperature etc. I also saw the wheel sensor with the tyre removed. I read somewhere that the light comes on with low pressure and the beeps with very low pressure. Did you just replace the batteries or the whole units? I will disconnect the battery tomorrow and see what happens. There is an independent Toyota garage in Meopham that I was going to contact as my next step.
