  1. I have always sold my cars on Autotrader and have had positive experiences so far. Advertise for 11K and sell for no less than 10K.
  2. I am sure Mr Exhaust in Reigate can fix your current exhaust. You'll be given warranty on the repair too. Nothing beats OEM in silence.
  3. I would love to own a LS400 as I have heard so much about it but sadly will have to pay 12.50 a day to drive it here in London. Should have done it sooner!
  4. Hello everyone, Although, I have really enjoyed owning my LS430, LS600HL and my current LS460, I fancy a bit of change. The current LS with the V6 Hybrid does not appeal to me. This engine configuration was available in the GS and RX and doesn't feel flagship. The twin turbo LS is an option but will need to be imported from Japan. I am curious if there were other people in the same boat as me and what did they opt for next.
  5. If the wheel balancing was done when the tyres were changed, and you don't have a sticking piston (which I think if you did you would smell it), I would also guess that this is an issue caused by rust, either behind the rotor or somewhere in the region of the brake hardware. If your car is not driven frequently, it could just be glazing on the rotor and brake pads which can be fixed by doing some hard braking at high speed (don't come to a complete stop).
  6. Great find, looks like they know what they are doing! The vehicle has a Chinese number plate (and so do other vehicles in the video). This must be somewhere in China.
  7. It's been a while since I've used these as I now have Android Auto but back in the day I used to prefer the minimalist magnetic type phone holders for air vents such as this one.
  8. I had this installed many years ago.. It will be necessary to get a summing device to sum up the signal from the front door woofers and the sub woofer to get a full bass signal otherwise it wont sound right. The AudioControl LC7i was used in my install. Be sure to get some sound dampening installed otherwise the boot will just rattle all over the place.
  9. Don't believe the 460 was sold in the UK in long wheelbase. You might be able to find an import though. Just be mindful that the E10 fuel is not recommended on the 2006 and 2007 cars. Avoid if possible. What year are you looking for?
  10. The newer lexus vehicles including the 2012+ LS in Japan has text written on the physical buttons in the car in English. You can also change the language to English in the menu on the infotainment system although some text is permanently coded in Japanese. Functionality like Climate Control, Bluetooth etc is very much useable with English menus and no guess work. I suspect the hardware for the infotainment system is different so it's not a case of flashing a different regions software.
  11. I have a LS460 import. Satnav can't be set to Non-Japanese Maps. I tried using sd cards from UK cars but they don't work. I am using Grom and it works great. The car connects fine via OBD and the ECU reads in English. I customised some settings via Techstream. I don't take my car to Lexus for routine servicing but it has been to them once for some advanced technical work and they were quite happy to work on it.
  12. You will need to turn on media audio for the Grom. You should turn on internet access too. On the Android Auto screen on the Grom, ensure that the 'Activate AAAuto UI' is set to automatic. You can tick bluetooth tethering if you want to use the phones internet on the Grom unit (outside Android Auto). You must keep bluetooth switched on your phone to use wireless android auto. You must have wifi enabled on your phone too although you don't need to connect to any network as the Wifi connection for Android Auto is a background process. I would suggest turning off your TPlink whilst you set up and demo wireless android auto to avoid any interference. Make sure wireless android auto is enabled on your phone too. It's not enabled on some phones by default. Go to settings, type android auto in search and open, if you see wireless android auto under system turn it on, towards the bottom you will see 'version', tap on it till you unlock developer options, click on three dots and enter developer settings, make sure 'add wireless projection to settings' is turned on.
  13. You will need to go into the bluetooth device settings on your phone and disable phone calls on the Grom, only have them enabled on the Lexus bluetooth. Similarly, it's probably best to switch off media audio on the Lexus.
  14. With Android Auto, your phone does the heavy lifting and projects the apps installed on it to the cars infotainment screen. The screen is split to show a main app and a secondary app. The main app is normally Google Maps or Waze The secondary app will normally be a music app like spotify or youtube music. It's quite customisable. There is also the advantage of seeing notifications from your phone such as Whatsapp messages or text messages on the screen of the car. This video below should give you an idea. Yes if using AA wirelessly the initial connection for android auto is made using Bluetooth however Bluetooth is not powerful enough for wireless display. A simultaneous connection is also made using wifi for wireless display purposes. I personally have the factory bluetooth turned off as it's not needed. Grom uses the factory mic and it works fine. This is vehicle dependant so your car might be different. If you are going on a long journey, you will probably want to plug your phone in so that it can charge. Wireless Android Auto consumes a considerable amount of the phones battery.
  15. I hope you are aware of and utilising the wireless android auto capabilities of the Grom unit.
  16. I think the point being made is that you don't need to buy a battery that is sold as a lexus part with a lexus part number. This battery is close to £300 from Lexus. A decent 12V AGM battery is going to be between £110-£125. Whilst, I am a fan of using Manufacturer parts, I don't think this is an area where it's necessary.
  17. You raise a good point re original battery being AGM. The replacement should ideally be AGM too to avoid any acid from spilling in the boot in the event of an accident. I have just discovered that the 12V battery is not used to start the engine which explains why the original Panasonic battery is a modest 68AH and 500CCA. I'll measure the physical dimensions of the OEM battery and take things from there. I am sure Bosch will have an AGM battery with a 5 year warranty which will fit and be half the price of the Panasonic from Lexus.
  18. Hello everyone, I am curious if any of you have tried a battery other than the OEM Panasonic in the LS600H. Thanks
  19. The biggest difference apart from very significant changes in the shape is in the suspension. The 2007 to 2011 cars are more floaty and absorb smaller potholes and road imperfections better. The 2012 to 2016 cars feel more sporty as the steering is more direct but are more composed around bigger potholes. Some of the 2012 to 2016 cars have additional features which are not available on the older cars such as Blind Spot Monitor and Automatic High Beam. The > 2012 cars can stream music over bluetooth from factory whereas the older ones require an aftermarket solution. To me the >2012 cars look much better in person and blend well with modern cars. Good luck, I am sure you'll be happy with either!
  20. As a general rule, if the text on the physical buttons is in Japanese which will be the case with your car, it will not be possible to switch the language to English in the settings. You can switch the text on the speedometer from Japanese to English using Techstream on a 2007 Lexus LS. Grom Vline 2 is an excellent suggestion and you will very rarely need to use the factory infotainment system if you have it.
  21. I have always found that the sentimental significance of cars goes away rather quickly after you part with them. It's going to be easier than you think!
  22. You must always disconnect negative terminal of battery when working around panels with airbags. Try that now to see if the airbag light goes away. There is a trunk lock button in the glovebox which you might have accidentally pressed.
  23. Yes you are right, the lexus interface is generally not needed with Grom. I am a bit of an audiophile and like to adjust audio settings (bass, treble, mid) on a frequent basis depending on the track and hence my question. I am on the software shown in the screenshot below. Thanks
  24. Hi Herbie, Are you able to switch to the lexus interface by pressing and holding the menu button and then switch back to Vline again by doing the same? If yes, what version of the software are you on? Thanks
  25. For those of you who don't live in or travel frequently to London, Ulez and congestion charge are two different things. It is Ulez exempt as It's a Euro 5 engine. Petrol cars need to be at least Euro 4 for Ulez exemption. Diesel cars need to be Euro 6.
