After putting in a new TPS , I was told I have the above problem, any ideas

i cant seem to be able to up load foto,

I have had to buy a replacement front upper balljoint ,do not have time to wait for one from the usa @ 89 dollors . So i got one from my local motor store, who are always great ,but the price 400 euros thats about four times more even with postage from the us. So i am going to start a parts bin. But on the plus side i will be getting a full timming kit including water pump for around 250 euro with postage.

My passenger seat in my 99 Ls400 wont recline i can here the moter but no movement , any ideas fixes, would be a great help

I have the same problem , and to date have not found a fix. But i believe if hour looking to replace the motor the landcruiser are the same but alot cheaper, if you do find a fix let use know.

I borrowed a is 200wheel and it seemed to fit ok, they used is200 wheels on wheeler dealers for thier LS400

Thanks guys its been out all day without a problem, its the fact that if i knew it was this when on the motorway i would have fixed it myself, rather than sitting in the car with ****** of missus and kids for over an hour waiting for a AA contractor with no diagnostic equipment. the funny bit was that about six or seven Lexus cars past with a bewildered look on there face.

would cleaning the throttle body be recommended at every service.And car seem good otherwise

i have read were people with faulty Lambada sensors have used cataclean and it worked , might be worth a look

Hi guys , when driving to the airport for my holidays with my partner and kids , after about an hour and a half ping check engine check vsc, So i stopped the car restarted and set off again fifteen minutes later ping, after 3 more attempts i gave up and called the AA and my mechanic, both said has to be put on the commuter. Anyway i set off to Lanzarote and the LS400 back to the mechanic, The diagnostics came back as Throttle body sensor , the mechanic told me it was covered in gunk but did not think it would need replacing , all ok then. But i wonder because i used a fuel and cat cleaner in the tank that week it should have cleaned most if not all of this gunk away, next on start up the car revs at 1000 rpm did nt do this a few weeks ago. So any ideas ,and can any one recommend a cheapis diagnostic unit for the LS, as i could have fixed this at the road side. tank guys and girls.

i tried a 17 inch is 200 wheel on my LS400 seem to fit ok , but still look small.

I went to Halfords and they only had one brand and expesive, but to answer your question yes the scrap on the drivers side very annoying.

W D 40, i opened the key housing down to the circuit board.sprayed WD40 left overnight but back together and it works perfect.

I have heard trough the forums the 430 is not as good as the 400 ,more tech but bad ride,as for the tires 245s seem to be a favourite. I have had BMW 7s and a few Rangerovers but the Lexus has suprised me so much

Oil capacity as from the manual 5.6 litre. sump plug should be under engine maybe near trans plug dont mixe them up.i allways go with the one nearest the front of car .BUT CHECK.

As i am fairly new to the Ls400 world what does DHP mean

Yo add to the symtoms fuel consumption is down to around 20 mpg and dropping?

The Ls 400 always started quitly but i have noticed the last few start ups ,it runs louder and a slight tappety then goes after a few sconds. Is this a sign of somthing , my mechanic is away untill nxt week?

That not an option i love the sub , might just get a parrot dab unit this will allow me to connect mp3 ect.

Has any body put a double din head unit into a Ls400 99 reg non sat nav.if so is it hard snd will it run the stock speakers and amp.. mine works ok but all illumination gone.

I was looking a the owners manual and it states , if you disconnect the battery and dont let the VSC reset it will give the same warning signs untill it resets , so far so good .
