  1. Looks great, too good for a shed. Not sure about the three marks though......isn't 62 mph equal to 100 km/h?
  2. Have you considered fitting a steering knob on the wheel and driving one handed? I used to have a Mk1 Granada auto, which came with one fitted, and to my surprise I loved it and kept it on. It was great for parking especially........you could twirl the steering wheel faster than with two hands.
  3. I am assuming you have looked at the Google sites which tell you who sells what where. They aren't that well up to date. My bet is there are a lot more LPG outlets than those they tell you about. I have driven all over the country and I have never been short of somewhere to fill up. In the beginning 16 years ago it used to take a little effort to plan where you were going to fill up. The Sat Navs all have pretty good downloads for them which show you where they all are when your driving in a strange area. Good luck with the move. Mike Thanks Mike. Yes, I have checked on a few sites, though I can only find one close to Eastbourne, the Co-op services at Polegate. I agree with you though, that the sites all leave much to be desired, and certainly not to be relied on 100%. We're off down there tomorrow, I've gutted the kitchen and knocked a wall down, so plenty of work to be done, but taking the camper for it's carrying capacity. So no need for lpg this trip, however I'll be trying again to spot a taxi running on gas, so I can quiz the driver on availability.
  4. Price does seem to be all over the shop. I'm also concerned about availability though. Currently, in Newport, we have plenty of choice, but we're moving to East Sussex soon, and there seem very few outlets down there.
  5. All the time. I see it as a part designed to move, and if it doesn't move I suppose I should expect problems. That's my angle on it too, though to be honest, this is the first car I've owned with a pedal operated parking brake, so I'm going on instinct.
  6. Parking brake stuck on can definitely cause vibration. (Unfortunately so can plenty of other things of course!) Yesterday, just after pulling away and accelerating to about 40mph, I felt a vibration as described by the OP. For one awful moment I started thinking what might it be, and what might it cost, then spotted the brake warning lamp on, and fully released the parking brake.........light off, vibration gone, very relieved. My point being, had the light not been on, a sticking parking brake would not have been near the top of my list of culprits. As mentioned earlier, a quick check for excess heat on rear brakes would tend to point toward this being the problem. I imagine Keith has fixed his problem by now......wonder what it was?
  7. Nice, I looked at them a few years back when I bought my camper, the later ones are a proper eyefull. Pics when it arrives please.
  8. I put 48010-50110 in google, which led me to the following page. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls430/305359-converting-air-suspension-struts-to-conventional.html If I read it right, your top part number seems to be for standard non air shocks, the 50140 being the air items. Please check for yourself though, interesting reading if nothing else. Edit:- reading again, I,m wrong I think, as the first part of the number was different, so good luck!!
  9. £23.34p inc delivery, so must have gone down in price, makes a pleasant change. I did the silicone treatment last year, which seemed to work, but recently found a small amount of water in the boot. I locked myself in the boot with a torch while Mrs V directed the hosepipe, and sure enough, there was a slight leak. So I've just ordered the above, to hopefully do a proper job. Tell you what though, I was happy to get out of the boot, not a nice place to be.
  10. Just out of interest, has anybody ever converted a LS 430 to ordinary suspension? I believe there was a version without air suspension, so you'd think that it wouldn't be beyond a competent mechanic to disconnect the system and bolt on standard shocks. Would surely be cheaper than £600 a corner, and improve reliability, and in turn make it easier to sell on when the time comes.
  11. I think quite a few of us on here fancy a 430, but are put off by the suspension. For what it's worth, I'd also bang it back through the auction, having cleaned and polished it to within an inch of it's life, to try and minimize any losses.
  12. I always think that if a gadget as cheap as this actually worked, the manufacturers would all fit them. They spend millions to shave the odd mile per gallon off, so would gladly spend a couple of quid on magnets.
  13. Who quoted you an LS cambelt change for £295? Tell us his name there'll be a rush Post #10.................Lexus Coventry.
  14. It's a thirteen year old system, so, understandably, is nowhere near as good as even a basic modern system. However, it's touch screen, and controls climate, music etc.
  15. Here you go, a link to what remains of his classified ad http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300942586077?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648
  16. Clamp me in irons if I'm wrong but all that feedback is exactly the same as his old ID, how does that happen? Mike Because it's not a new account, just a change of user id, so F/b, joining date, etc, etc are all carried over. Even his current classified ad is still running, complete with changed user id. Ebay works in mysterious ways, and over the years I've probably spent far too much time scouring the used cars section.
  17. Some might say you payed too much, and going by the book you probably did, but you have a fabulous low mileage car that should waft you around reliably for many years to come. I defy anybody to show me better value. You'll put a few quid in the tank, for sure, but negligible depreciation, superb reliability and the sheer driving pleasure, more than make up for that. Enjoy, I know you will.
  18. Oh, ok then. I still have the auction I linked to earlier saved in myebay. Clicking on see sellers other listings brings up the remnants of a LS auction, still running, but with a bin of £100, which bears his new username. Click on his F/B and in amongst there, somewhere, is a userid history tab.
  19. How did you manage to find that? Mike If I told you I'd have to kill you.
  20. He's changed his user name. http://contact.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ReturnUserIdHistory&requested=watsthatsnoise He is now watsthatsnoise, wonder why he changed?
  21. Mine's a 99T, and cruise works fine when set at 80, keeping constant 76 mph according to tomtom, regardless of up, down or flat. Also maintains a steady 50 in road works if set to 53.
  22. Afraid so, new front discs last year to cure a judder under braking, I must have a Friday afternoon car
  23. Thanks Rupert, nice to hear yours are the same, and I must admit to thinking I might do the same wiring link. As to the bulb not lasting, I blame the wife.....she will keep using the brakes, instead of flashing full beam to move lesser mortals aside.
  24. I have a question regarding the side and brake lights on my car. Mrs V reported a warning light on the dash, which turned out to be the brake warning light, which in turn led me to finding the nearside brake light was out. Off with the lens, out with offending bulb, which was indeed blown. Five minutes and two quid later, I had a new bulb in place, a 5/21W stop and tail push in bulb, as specified on p246 of my handbook. However, when getting Mrs V to operate the brake to test all was well, I asked her to switch side lights on as well, and was surprised to see separate side and brake lights, so why twin filament bulbs? The handbook doesn't help, as p246 shows the rear of the car with stop and tail at the top and bottom of each housing, whereas p252 diag 4 shows side light at the top and brake at the bottom (this is what mine seems to be). Would love to hear what set up other owners have, as I'm damned if I can see why twin filament bulbs are required for my set up, as the 5w part of the bulb seems surplus to requirement.
  25. You say its sold but its still on Ebay? Mike Badly worded, I mean he's so impressed with it he's got it up for sale! Ah stupid me ! I would love to know where he is buying LPG from at 61p liter. Mike Quite a few in the Midlands Mike, according to the LPG discussion forum and FillLPG.co.uk map. Preston is another place with low prices apparently. Neither of which are much use to me or you of course.
