  1. On Gumtree at £120. Wheels supposedly reconditioned, tyres hardly worn and used on a 430. I was tempted for my 400, but I don't really need another set of wheels lying round (so says mrs v!!). Also, the tyres don't get a great review (Kaiser Kenda, if you want to look them up). Here's the link, might be of interest to somebody. http://www.gumtree.com/p/wheel-rims-tyres/4-x-245-45r18-96w-tyres-official-lexus-18-alloys/1040622342
  2. I saw a mk4 lpg'd on ebay last night, £800 to buy outright, or offers. Don't take this as a recommendation though, I only had a quick look, as I was looking for something else. I do recall it had 200,000 miles on it though. Edit:- Here you go, make your own mind up. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121560345872?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Sold quickly at £800 B.I.N.
  3. Hook 295k £1100 ??? Any more info? Google is not helping me . . . In an ideal world it would be a 2005 ish LS430 with no more than two owners and a full history. Probably this one, though it's plenty of time to go above £1100 before the auction end. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-LEXUS-LS430-AUTO-BRONZE-STUNNING-DO-NOT-MISS-THIS-ONE-/381142655073?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item58bddf6061
  4. Too right, I've worked on a re-shell, a 78 Cortina, and that was a big enough pain in the backside for me. The thought of doing the same with a modern, complex car like an IS-F, brings me out in a cold sweat. I'd be amazed if the electrics were ever right again.
  5. C and D are both allowed back after being written off, as they are classed as repairable. Many lightly damaged cars are written off because of the cost to repair even minor damage on a low value older car.
  6. It's funny, if you search for IS-F on ebay, then set filter to completed sales, you only get two results. The one being discussed sold for just over £6k, but if you check the sellers feedback, he refused to honour the deal according to the buyer, who left him negative feedback. The second car was a 2011 and sold for around £20k, but if you read the listing, it's also a write off, though there is only one mention of it being a "right off" in passing. Can't help wondering if the buyer noticed! Strange that there are no "normal" completed sales.
  7. Welcome to the board. I'm guessing nobody saw this post, as I'm sure a few people have had your problem. Hopefully this bump will do the trick.

  9. Nice looking car, think they are DHP wheels aren't they? Interested to see what it fetches, also wonder what the reserve is.
  10. There was a documentary on the other night, and diesels were getting a right hammering with regard to harming the environment. The only thing saving them at the moment, is that we were misled by previous governments into choosing diesel over petrol, and they don't want to admit how wrong they were. I think, once a respectable period has passed, they will hammer us with taxes and restrictions in cities, that will make diesels a much less popular choice. They never mentioned commercials though, which surely must be responsible for the largest share of exhaust pollution, not to mention buses and trains. I definitely think you made the right choice lexusisfan, even more so if you were considering a Lexus diesel.
  11. He'd probably need to spend a good chunk of his 4K on paint. I'm out of touch now, with paint prices, but given the size of the LS, what would a full respray cost at a reasonable quality paintshop?
  12. That's because that kit doesn't use the relay you want to fit. I've fitted two bars using a relay ( 1 Toyota, 1 Honda) , and taken the live feed direct from the battery, and, as you say, used an inline fuse.
  13. Check the condition report and zoom in on the bodywork pics, of which there are many. Probably the poorest bodywork I've seen on a 400. Still, if it's cheap enough..........................
  14. Just followed the link posted earlier, and they are showing as no stock, but I did notice that they show one speed rating at the top of the ad (W), and another just below (H). Hopefully you all got W rated, as H is only up to 130mph. Wouldn't want any of you getting a blowout at 155!!
  15. I didn't think this car had air suspension, normal coil sprung I seem to remember. Would like to know if I'm wrong though, as I quite fancy one myself.
  16. Sounds fine to me, but then I do love the sound of a V8. Main thing though is that you're happy.
  17. With regard to BP sites, I've nearly always found them to be a good bit more expensive than the rest. Filling up at BP Hailsham the other day, there was a sign saying they didn't accept some BP card on lpg sales. This was because Flogas supplied the lpg, hence the low price I suspect. Mind you, if you want a real rip off, try buying a 6kg refill propane bottle. That's about 12 litres and costs in excess of twenty quid, so over three times more expensive than pump gas, which I think is taxed at a higher rate, making it an even bigger rip off.
  18. Just checked on filllpg site and there is a 39.9p/litre in Birmingham as well as a handful nearby in the forties, so the roughly half price still applies in many parts of the country, if not all.
  19. Chewy, it's 56p/litre in Eastbourne and Hailsham, and there is little or no competition round here. Traditionally the Midlands have cheaper prices, so probably sub 50p there. I think Mike has a card whereby price drops by 1p a litre every time you fill, up to 10p/litre off, then start again, so guess that's how he paid 46. Edit:- sorry, posted at same time as above, so hadn't seen Mikes posts.
  20. As I read it Tigerfish, the suspension airbags are kaput, so it's stuck on it's belly for now. I do feel sorry for the bloke though, some of the ebay pics were on the advert he bought from, over three years ago, and it was up at £4,500 o.n.o, and it sold after one week, so you would think he paid somewhere near the asking price. I bet he was thrilled to bits when he bought it, and it's a shame it turned sour for him. I also admire his honesty in describing the car and hope he gets a decent price, just checked and it's over £700 with six days left, so who knows. The car is not to my taste now, but if I was 18 again, and driving that, I'd think I'd died and gone to heaven!!
  21. Not sure where you see sarcastic comments, but anyway, I suspect the fact that it's sat on it's belly and needs trailering, hasn't been run for three years and has no mot will be far more offputting to any buyers.
  22. Great vid here (look away if you're squeamish). https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-cl=84838260&v=YKT5PwnaA1o&x-yt-ts=1422327029
  23. Glad you're happy. I wouldn't bother with the sat nav, to be honest, a modern system is far more usable. Even if you fitted the latest disc, it would still be way out of date (2003 I think, but not 100% sure). It's a superb motorway muncher, certainly the best I've driven, or been driven in, and pretty economical at the legal limit.
