  1. Yes, MK4 will fit MK3. If you want to make the MK3 airbag fit on MK4 steering wheel......it needs to be modified: http://aus-vip.com/topic/2719-how-to-fitting-a-98-00-wood-steering-wheel-onto-a-95-97-ls400/
  2. Spoiler - got them from Amayama last year for about 50€ per side: front spoiler LH...........76852-50030 front spoiler RH...........76851-50050 + some new bolts and nuts (6mm), because the old ones were all terminally rusty.
  3. Good work! That's how it should be done. Lots of mechanics do not know that. One can also get some rubber pads with slots.
  4. Do not worry. 7 days? That would be the 20th, wouldn't it? ... only work days (Mo-Fr that is).
  5. Sounds like there is dirt in front of the car's heater core. Checked your cabin filter yet?
  6. LS400 98-00 and LS430 01-03 have the same transmission (A650E). Some solenoid related stuff out there.

  8. In regards to aftermarket pads sometimes the sides of the back plate need to be grinded down a little bit. Pads might seize up because of heat. I would not recommend using 'Copper Slip' for aluminium brake calipers. Furthermore 'Copper Slip' dries out and disappears in high temperature. By the way OEM pads are ceramic ones. Next time get: Toyota high temp brake shim grease: 08887-80409 (due to ls400/UCF20 repair manual) or for EXTREME temperature get stuff like 'PERMATEX 24125 Ceramic Extreme' brake parts lubricant (-46°C to 1649°C ) or or GRANVILLE Ceramic Brake Grease ..............................................................................................(-40°C to +1200°C) PS: I am wondering if anyone tried ATE Plastilube yet? (Not sure if -45°C bis 180°C is enough but should be good for the rear brake) 'ATE Plastilube' is a clear, high temperature grease designed for braking components. Also works great for window regulators, sunroof mechanisms, plastic gears and rubber bushings.
  9. LEXUS LS FOR MAIN CHARACTER USAGE MARTIN CLUNES BARB 10.29
  10. Hello! I need parts number for OEM floor mats LS400 '97 RHD. Have only found for LS430 (PZ410F1353BG) TIA
  11. For the LS there are no aftermarket ceramic pads availlable in Europe. US-Ebay or Rockauto is the way to go. I've read good reviews on Akebono ACT665 pads. https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1187513
  12. Mine had seized brake pads (brake dust, rust and dirt) and dark spots on discs (sandpaper for discs and pads deleted brake and steering judder). Brakes should be cleanded ideally once a year. By the way, keep0 in mind OEM pads are ceramic ones (lesser brake dust).
  13. Hi Mike, see ambermarine's post: "The switch is screwed onto the end of the barrel and the ignition wiring is plugged into it ."
  14. Hey Guys, after ordering 3 parts already I recommend Ebay seller 10xlr8. He wrecks lots of LS400s. Good luck ....=;o)....
  15. Winter: Continental Winter Contact TS790 - 225/60 R16 98H ..........High Performance Winter Tire Summer: Falken ZIEX ZE914 XL - 225/55 R17 101W .......................Premium Touring Tire
  16. Take 2 resistors out....clean them and put them back in! BackLight stereo dry resistors ls400 - UCF20.pdf
  17. LS400 OEM front brake produces little brake dust because of ceramic pads. I found out that a lot of people like BREMBO rotors in combination with AKEBONO ACT665 - ceramic pads.
  18. You will need wheel bearing + inner and outer simerring (seal) and whilst you at it you might change the brake dust cover too (unless it is not rotten).
  19. That's right, only after market. Look for ROCA rear knuckle bushings or go cheap with FEBEST TAB-021Z.
  20. attached PDF is for 96 model. Check page 4 (79) 7. 5A / OBD- II IG1 connector = COWL WIRE AND COWL NO. 2 WIRE (NEAR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B) 1996 engine loom.pdf
  21. runsgreatasanut........high CO2?...... Cheapest thing to try first is to change your air filter, get some sort of system cleaner and take the car for a good long run (with engine revs high). This will clear the system of any carbon deposits and will often bring an older car back within the required limits. PS: I'm wondering if that is some legit stuff - Wheelers Dealers showed Terraclean Fuel System Decarboniser on a Jaguar XK8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiViPKIoG68
  22. Hi....my user manual (model 1997) says 90000 miles for Denso SK20R11 and NGK IFR6A11. Remove the plugs when the engine is cold. Torque is 17,5Nm! PS: 60000miles ago spark plugs were changed to NGK IFR6T 11 long life (change intervall is 120000 miles) - checked them few month ago......they still looked like new...=;o)....
  23. What model year? MK4? could be that: 53867 - SEAL, FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE, LH53867-50020
  24. Banjo: "So do you get new arches or partial arches fabricated? or can you buy these items?" There is no repair sheet metal for the LS400 available. Some nice rear wheel arch pic I found that shows pretty good where to put the Fluid Film:
  25. Same here - rust in the rear of the rear wheel arch ....both sides.......behind the mud guards (real "dirt trap")..........on the right side is a little hole already..........I choose the cheapest way for the repair, so I am gonna get rid of rust and get me some poor15 or Hammerite Rostblocker + fibre glass for the hole and after that I put some Hammerite Underbody Seal with Waxoyl on the whole wheel arch. To seal it up from the inner side (via trunk) I'm gonna get some Fluid Film (best stuff ever for cavities....=;o)...).
