  1. How difficult is it to get the instrument cluster out? I noticed last night on my first drive in the dark that the fuel gauge was not lit up. All others appeared ok.
  2. Not too sure why most people are against used tyres in general, surely when you purchase a used car it has four used tyres on it? As mentioned above, used premium tyres are probably better than new budget tyres. And aren't the used tyre centres governed by laws or regulations on the quality of the tyres they sell?
  3. Hi. I have recently purchased an SC430 and while looking for a local indy have discovered that Glyn Jones in Heswall is no longer looking after Lexus cars. I spoke to someone in the garage who confirmed Glyn has now retired. Please remove his details from your list and if I find a replacement for the North West area I will let you know. Gerry
  4. Doesn't seem to have sensors! It is a three position switch with markings of I - 0 - II and the 0 being the default position. it will not stay in the other two positions. Have tried pushing the switch but unable to see any difference with any of the controls or functions
  5. Can anyone identify this switch please that I cannot find mention of in the owners manual? It is situated above the boot release and fuel flap release buttons.
  6. Do I need to take this to a garage then or is there an easy way to get the headliner down by the interior lights?
  7. I looked, and as I suspected they show only the pressures for the standard 18" wheels and tyres. Mine has 19" wheels with 245/35 fronts and 265/35 rears - that is why I was asking!
  8. Sorry, had the UX for a couple of years but the SC only two weeks, and have been away so not changed my profile. It's the whole mirror with mount to windscreen and a cable sticking out the end.
  9. Hi all. Collected my car two weeks ago but unfortunately the day before my two week holiday! The mirror has delaminated and is unusable but the seller gave me a used mirror to replace it with. Are they easy enough to change? I notice it has a cable and a connector plug attached Many thanks, Gerry
  10. I will give it a try but think if it was that easy then the previous owner would have tried it
  11. This is all I get when the cover is opened. Is it faulty, or missing the dvd? As I don't need it for nav, I can't seem to get it to display any info. Oh, and I got ****ted on my head by the boot lid. I suppose it needs new struts too?
  12. Did all these cars come with nav as standard? I ask because the vendor said everything was OK apart from the nav not working. Not an issue for me as I use my own with latest map data. I had a nosey in the boot to see if I could suss it out only to find this. Doesn't look the the dvd drive is fitted. I tried pulling the tab but to no avail. Is it a blanking cover? I did intend to possibly fit a reverse camera mod
  13. Well, I picked up my 02 silver car today. What a lovely drive home that was. Very pleased so far but it needs a damn good Gerry clean! The MR2 doesn't know it yet but he is getting sold in a couple of weeks now his big brother has arrived!
  14. I am currently rewatching 24 series 5. Just saw a lovely red SC in a couple of scenes.
  15. Has anyone bought one of those Auto-Vox W-7 reversing camera kits as featured on this car? Looks interesting, though I wouldn't want another screen on my dash or windscreen! I wonder if it could go behind the flap for the nav screen?
