  1. I notice that my seat heater lights are always illuminated whether the seat heaters are on or off. Do anyone else's lights stay on all the time?
  2. Ok, to explain better, hopefully, is a piccy taken today showing that the 30 minute consumption screen will not go above 60mpg which is odd given the car can exceed this. Photo also shows 1 minute consumption graphs. With my gen 3 Prius I could specify either 1 minute or 5 minute increments. The CT only appears to do 1 minute increments which I think is unnecessary :( Untitled by Brutus_Cleo63, on Flickr
  3. I have a couple of queries on the fuel consumption screen for those with nav. Firstly on the screen that shows the last 30 minutes of driving in 5 minute segments does everyone else also have individual minutes within each 5 minute segment? I would rather just see the average over a 5 minute period and not individual minutes within the segment. Is there a way to turn off the individual minutes and just have segments of 5 minutes? Secondly, my consumption screen appears to max out at 60mpg but coming back from visiting families on Boxing Day I cruised steadily home along the A1 at around 60-65mph and all my minutes consumption for the whole 30 minutes were all at the top of the screen, if that makes sense? Won't the screen go any higher like in the Prius were a 100mpg screen was used. Cheers for any advice. Peter
  4. Firstly, didn't realise the car had auto lights, wipers, yes, but not lights although these were pointed out at hadover. No mention of this in the brochure though. Same with keyless entry and electro chromatic rear view mirror - I've got 'em but didn't realise it was standard SE-L spec. But tonight I discovered the CT also has puddle lamps in the door mirrors :). I wonder what other gems are still to be discovered? Edit: I see the car has footwell lighting too but they look awful in white. Time to swap 'em out for blue or red. Peter
  5. My UK spec CT came with Yokohama dB Decibel tyres (made in Japan). Are these the norm? The Yoko website refers to the dB Decibel as being a quiet tyre (duh!) but there's no reference to it being an eco tyre. On the other hand the Yoko Advan Decibel is their quietest tyre plus it's also an eco tyre. I think I know what tyre I'll be changing to. My previous car, a gen 3 Prius (same wheel size) came with Michelin HP Primacy (made in France).
  6. Cheers, liner (sub) now in car. PIcked her up today. Very impressed :)
  7. I've just updated my Aviva insurance policy and to change from a 2010 '60' plate Prius T Spirit to a 2011 CT SE-L with Nav was no change! I'm surprised, and delighted, that it didn't cost anything to both amend the policy and change to the CT. I thought the CT would have been more than the Prius. So, £261 per annum, fully comp with business mileage :) Result! Now just to pick the car up tomorrow from lunchtime.
  8. Hi, I can only, at present, relate to driving my old gen 2 Prius in last winters very heavy snow and I found the car to perform well. Where neighbours were slipping and sliding and revving the nuts of their cars to get off the slightly inclined driveways and just engaged reverse and let the torque pull the car out. Yes, the nanning ABS gets in the way at times but I've always found driving out of snow easy in the Prius. I'm hoping to get my new CT this Thursday so I'll see what the differences if it snows again. Up here in northern North Yorkshire we've just had rainy sleet so far.
  9. I'm going to order a boot liner tomorrow (assuming that isn't a daft price) but I notice there's a with/without sub woofer type. I'll be getting an SE-L with nav / 10 speaker sound system. Does this system have a sub? If it does I presume it's only a small sized speaker located in the boot? Cheers Peter
  10. I emailed my nearest Centre yesterday, explaining I was picking up a new CT next Thursday and was quoted £526 fitted! Suffice to say I won't be going for it. With hindsight maybe I should have negotiated a deal at the time of sale. Breakdown was £365 for the DAB module plus VAT plus 1.6 hours labour. Shame as I'd have paid up to £400 for one.
  11. Hi again. Firstly, is the DAB upgrade a dealer fit item and, secondly, has anyone done the upgrade and thought "wow"? I spend quite a lot of time in my car and whilst the iPhone will be BT streaming most of my music I do like the radio from time to time. My current gen 3 Prius has dreadful FM reception and struggles to hang onto stations but it is a known issue. Cheers again for any info. Just over a week to go...:) Edit: just tested the Tunein Internet app on my phone and it streams perfectly over BT into the car and you still get all the radio station data displayed too.
  12. I had been considering the Prius (along with the CR-Z) but after having a sit inside one, the thoughts were : Yep - lots of toys HUD and gadgets could take a lot of getting used to (didn't think much of the ergonomics, although test drive probably would have convinced me) But key impression : "is this car going to survive a few years ?" Wasn't convinced by the build quality on the Prius, the CT felt like a far more solid car. (Although watch for the passenger door inside handle grip falling off) Yup, same here. Test drove Prius and the CRZ. I loved the look of the CRZ but it isn't that frugal (mid 40's) but the HID's and glass roof nearly sold it for me. Gotta admit, the CRZ's gearbox was the sweetest thing I've ever used. However, went back to Lexus and the whole quality thing just appealed more.
  13. Just another thought...are there any items in the car I won't initially find? I'm thinking of maybe things like a tyre pressure monitor light? Also, what is the purpose (if there is one) for the hole just below the seat heaters? Is it intended to hold, say, a phone? My biggest 'concern' is where is my PG Tips Monkey going to sit? :)
  14. Thanks for all the info, guys. Went along to the 'local' Centre, yesterday, in Teesside and had a quick play in the car which, surprisingly, only had 2 miles on the Odo. I thought it would have had more miles on it. I'm not complaining, just surprised, that's all. I could have had the car next week but I thought I'd leave it until I practically break up for Christmas so, I'm going to leave it until the 22nd. This'll be my first experience of Lexus ownership so I hope all goes well at handover. It's Cadoxton Slate with ivory leather and navi. The Centre has a load of CTs in most colours (if not all) and 2 out of the 3 SE-L's that I saw were navi equipped models. I nearly went for a solid black one with navi but I didn't want the grey leather trim that it had.
  15. Cheers for the info, very handy. Anything else spring to mind?
  16. Thanks for the reply. I'm pleased you like the CT after the Prius. I've just spent the last hour reading web reviews and seemingly no one likes it :(
  17. After driving Toyota for years (currently on Gen 3 Prius T Spirit) I've purchased, subject to finance going through:), brand new SE-L in metallic grey with Navi pack and ivory leather trim. The car, along with several others, where all in stock and ready to go. I'll miss the Prius loads (it's my third) but I won't miss the rattles from the poor interior plastic trim. To date, my current Prius is probably the best car I've owned. I'm looking forward to what appears to be a good audio system, keyless entry (although my Prius has this), parking sensors front & rear plus the auto dip mirror. Anyone else gone from a gen 3 Prius to a CT? Time to top up the Meguiars collection :)
  18. Thanks for the reply, Pete. Confusing, isn't it? Both the brand new SE-L models I looked at today, albeit already registered as '61' plate cars, had keyless entry too which I haven't seen in the specs. The dealer said the cars have recently come in but CC wasn't a standard but now an option. I'm not too fussed though as I rarely use it. The cars, though, were lovely.
  19. I was at a Lexus centre today and noticed that the SE-L doesn't have cruise control although the brochure says it does. Can anyone confirm either way. There was an SE-L there with CC but it was, according to the centre, part of the 'Convenience Pack' which included a rear camera in the mirror when reverse engaged. Overall though, I thought the car looked and felt great albeit a form that probably divides opinion. Most interested in an SE-L with nav.
