  1. Currently own a 2014 IS300h Luxury which I bought new. Lovely car but missing many of the electric toys I'm now longing for. So, today, I put a deposit down for a Lexus dealer used '64' plate GS F Sport - 300h. Black with black interior, wheels powder coated black and all chrome work wrapped in black. Definitely stands out. Hope to pick up next week. Is there anything I need to know about the GS as a standout features / issues? It certainly feels a small step up from the IS in terms of quality. Cheers Peter
  2. I've picked up a feint scratch across the windscreen courtesy of the nearside wiper. I've tried removing it using glass polish to no avail. Does anyone have any experience of removing a fine, albeit quite long, scratch across the glass? I have an assortment of paintwork swirl removers such as Meguiars Scratch-X 2.0 and Meguiars Ultimate Compound but I'm not sure if they would be suitable on glass. Any suggestions welcomed. Cheers Peter
  3. In summary, I bought RC15 LEX from the DVLA in December 2014 with a view to buying an RC300h this summer. Things have changed so I will probably be sticking with the IS300h until probably this time next year. I paid £399 for the plate but I'm willing to sell for £350 including the transfer amount - assuming it's no more than £25 otherwise I'll have to reconsider the £350 asking price. Cheers Peter
  4. Yes, I was hovering on the DVLA site from 08:00 :) I was only hoping for a 300h but your RC F will be awesome. You'll be fighting off the crowds wanting a look / ride / photo. Can't say an M4 or RS5 would get a second glance off anybody. Sooooooo jealous :) :)
  5. Thanks, that makes sense. So I just need to find a buyer of the registration, fill in section 2 with the buyers details and send the document off to the DVLA. Might have to try the RC forum nearer to March to see if RC15 LEX appeals to anyone.
  6. Hi and a happy New Year to everyone. I bought, in December 2014, a '15' plate number from the DVLA website that would suit a Lexus RC perfectly, with a view to myself buying an RC300h sometime in the '15' region, i.e. March to August 2015. Circumstances have changed a little and a coupe may not be suitable just yet so I'm either going to stick with my IS300h or look at a GS. I know there is information on the DVLA site but I wanted to see if anyone here has any first hand experience in how to transfer a number plate allocated to me to a new user. Obviously, the number plate hasn't been allocated to a vehicle, just me. Thanks for any help. Peter
  7. My neighbour collected his new NX Premier yesterday and it does look very nice especially in Sonic Titanium. I'm going to see how much the RC 300h is when it's unveiled and go from there. If it's affordable I'll probably change in Spring next year when my IS will be 12 months old. Failing that I will probably go for a used GS. I usually change cars between 9 months (!) and 3.5 years depending on finances and whether I modify the car.
  8. I've just been in for an update but I only went to E from D. No sign of F at my Centre.
  9. You're correct re usage of the seat as it's only me that drives it but I still feel I want to have them in the car especially if the seat moves back and the s/wheel moves forward when powering off. Is the latter a GS feature or does the IS do this too if you've got full electric seats and s/wheel?
  10. Yeah, but hardly the same car to compare it to. If you had a 20 year old IS then fair enough if it had electric seats, etc. For info, half of the IS model range don't get power seats, etc unless you pay for them. In every other way everything else about the new IS is brilliant.
  11. I've owned my brand new IS300h Luxury with heated leather and premium nav since March 2014 and I love the car but I really wish I'd pushed the boat out a little further at the time and either got an F Sport with heated / cooled leather etc or gone for a used GS Luxury or higher and ideally with the ML audio. What's frustrating me is the lack of electric seats, electric s/wheel and memory. Everything else about my IS (apart from the known sporadic bluetooth issue) is brilliant. What a dilemma! :)
  12. Voice control of my iPhone seems hit and miss. One day it's greyed out, next day all is well and I can select tracks through it.😕 Obviously will only work through USB connection and not BT.
  13. I read Omar's post as he knew how to split the screen into 2 or 3 sections but was asking whether other options (icons) were available. Colin, I think you're probably right though and Omar is asking whether there is more than just music and nav. For what it's worth mine is split into 3's with nav, audio and fuel/energy. I keep the Central TFT screen in nav mode. Cheers Peter
  14. Omar, not that I know of but someone else may confirm otherwise. Out of interest, what other icons are you thinking about? Regards Peter
  15. It doesn't have any visible aerial as they're all built into the heated rear window elements. Why stick something onto the car's roof when it doesn't need it, besides there's no aerial cable leading to the roof.
  16. Both the USB ports are 5V 2.1A so they'll power tablets and phones, etc. Many cars only have 1A ports so they won't power tablets and 3rd party sat navs, etc.
  17. There's a 12v power supply and 2x2.1amp USB points under the lift up arm rest.
  18. Tel, that's good new, I think. Is E available only from a Lexus Centre? I presume it'll make it onto the portal at some time? Cheers Peter
  19. Settings>notifications centre> make sure access on lock screen notifications view is enabled (green). Then scroll down to where it says include, > messages > shown on lock screen should be enabled. I seem to remember reading that unless these are enabled when the iPhone is locked the messages won't come up on the nav screen. Hope I've got that right but no promises!! Sent from my iPad using Lexus OC All good points, David. I also have "Show alerts from everyone" enabled rather than "Show alerts from my contacts" too. Peter
  20. Bridgy, go to iPhone Settings > Click on Bluetooth > click on the inverted exclamation mark at the end of the Lexus device (or whatever you Lexus Bluetooth connection is called) > make sure "Show Notifications" is enabled. Job done! Peter
  21. Most of the above comments are valid but there's a difference between some complimentary offers and a whole different car grade in my opinion. I would have loved an FS but I couldn't justify the extra monies so, for me, it's frustrating that 2 months after I bought my Luxury I possibly could have got an FS. My centre is helping matters either by bombarding me with mail and email regarding the offer.
