  1. I can definitely endorse claying the glass. Like the bodywork, it becomes super smooth so rain and ice don't stick.
  2. Rayaans, I've not noticed it shaking but it doesn't clear water away very well, it's like it has a worn blade, which is not the case. Any suggestions? Cheers Peter
  3. Ok, an update on this. I managed to see another GS and my offside wiper is definitely not sitting right. On mine the pivot point on is visible from the drivers seat and, externally, the pivot point is almost touching the rear edge of the bonnet. On the other GS the pivot point is not visible from the drivers seat and there's a fat finger width between the pivot and bonnet. Here's mine... Untitled by Peter, on Flickr And the other GS... Untitled by Peter, on Flickr I'm not sure what has happened to my wiper (started after it was removed by a window installer). I haven't they tried removing the wiper to see if anything is wrong.
  4. Been a while but any chance of a pic of a Gen 4 offside wiper arm to compare with mine. GS's up my way are rarer than hen's teeth but I'd still like to see another Gen 4's wiper arm. Thanks Peter
  5. Can anybody confirm that their offside wiper arm looks like mine especially around the pivot point? I don't remember mine looking so cranked. Thanks Peter
  6. I really do like the IS F Sport. Whilst I love my GS F Sport for its toys I think the IS is a better looker in F Sport trim.
  7. The only external difference, as far as I know with MY16 cars, is the addition of a sharks fin antenna. No antenna then it's not the 'latest' spec but MY16 models have been on the road since 1st September. There are some already on Lexus Used Cars. Sorry to sound negative but I hate dealers misinforming people. My Lexus Centre convinced me that my GS300h F Sport had 4WS. I knew it didn't but it was a selling point for me to buy it from him.
  8. I probably didn't make myself very clear. The whole wiper arm is as low as it can go and is therefore hidden from sight. The pivot point sticks up into view and I don't remember it doing that before. Hopefully the pic below will show it. Can anyone else confirm that theirs appears to be the same. Cheers Peter IMG_4120 by Peter, on Flickr
  9. My wipers on my GS300h were removed to facilitate some work. On reinstallaton the drivers side appears more visible in my line of sight than I remember it even though the wiper is as low as possible. Can somebody please post a pic of their offside wiper, preferably from above as I need to look specifically at the pivot point. Any pics would be welcomed. Thanks. Peter
  10. Decided to give my GS some love over the last 2 weeks which essentially was an intensive clay and wax session. I just love clay and it's awesome on glass too. 11. No! They're usually of plastic material which can lead to melting / warping of the cover plus the brakes need cooling and covers reduce this. Yes, the covers look smooth and bright and instantly give you 'Brembo' brakes but don't go there. Either get them painted or, in my case, professionally sprayed.
  12. Whilst getting the rims refinished (local Lexus Centre paying) I thought I'd get the calipers painted professionally by a garage next door. The calipers were fully removed from the car, cleaned off including smoothing down, painted, stickers applied to the fronts and lacquered up before reassembly, bleeding, etc. The finished resut looks good in the flesh with yellow calipers against black rims. The rims needed refinishing as they weren't returning to gloss after being washed. Now they're been respired, re powder coated and lacquered. Here's the results - taken with the phone and close up on my driveway so don't show then off to their best. Also the photos have some sin highlights on the rims so they look marked or scuffed. They're not, it's just the photo. 13. I have the latest GS (UK) and I'm dismayed, given the size of the screen that you cannot see the radio details when in DAB mode. Sure, you see the radio name and channel number but no details of whose show it is, the DJ's name and the track they're playing. I've looked at all the settings. Is this correct in that there is no radio information? My wife's Juke shows everything about the radio programme as did her previous car; a Fiesta! Cheers Peter
  14. I have the same firmware as Zotto which, according to my dealer, is the current version. If anymore has a more up to date firmware can they please advise. Cheers Peter
  15. Having recently collected my GS300h F Sport I was surprised today to get my yearly renewal of £144 FC including business mileage. That's cheaper than my outgoing IS300h Luxury model. Pretty pleased with the quote.😀
  16. I've a GS300h F Sport. Does anyone know what is the current firmware for the vehicle's infotainment system? Thanks
  17. Yes, my GS doesn't auto lock but my 2014 '14' IS did.
  18. There's one thing I'm missing that my IS had and seemingly the GS doesn't have. All the features on the TFT window between the main dials especially the nav and audio info. The GS has a TFT window but only shows outside temp and fuel economy / miles till empty / current mpg, etc. I really liked the nav instruction in the instrument cluster. 😐
  19. Got it today... Picking up my Lexus GS F Sport with wheels powder coated gloss black and all chrome trim wrapped in black. :) by Peter, on Flickr
  20. 52 here. Hoping to move to an old mans car (GS) next week. My wife's favourite car that I owed was my modified Toyota GT86. One day I will own some form of Lexus RC so that'll please me and her. Apparently RC300h is coming January 2016.
  21. Not sure this is going to work but here goes... IMG_0921 by Peter, on Flickr
  22. Sounds like Disaster Area's Stunt Ship. You've lost me but it doesn't sound complimentary. The car looks better in the flesh to how I've described it. :)
  23. Totally agree, Colin. The 450h still appears to command decent bucks if you want a nearly new one - assuming you can find one. I didn't really want anything older than 12 months.
  24. I bought my IS300h Luxury new in March 2014 and it's a great car despite the lack of electric toys. I'm trading her in for a Lexus Centre used '64' plate GS F Sport - the 300h version :( It's a great car with all the toys including photo chromatic door mirror glass, auto high beam, BSM, etc. Despite it being an F Sport I think it's a small change over the standard car. I personally think the IS F Sport is more of a stand out car over the standard and, dare I say it, better looking than the GS in some angles? It's black inside and out. Wheels have been powder coated black too and the external chrome wrapped in black. Definitely stands out and I'm sure it'll be a marmite car. Can't wait to get it but I'll miss the IS's handling.
