First day with the NX and so a question or two. Regarding the nav directions in the HUD is it really only the last 600 yards before a turn appears in the HUD? I was hoping the HUD was going to show the next waypoint irrespective of distance. cheers Peter

Been out again this evening and it’s missing most signs. When they do occasionally pop up in the HUD they go off after a couple of seconds even though the centre display may still show it.

Well, picked up the lovely NX today and all very nice indeed. Slowly, very slowly, getting to grips with the quirky infotainment system. ML audio is excellent but the traffic sign assist only came on twice over 30 minutes despite passing lots of speed limit signs. Is anyone’s elses TSA a bit pants?

Picked mine up today and it’s 1401, 1511 and 943.

Lexus UK Twitter, for me, is fine at the moment on iOS. I contacted them initially via Messenger however.

I found it useful to track my boat as it helped to pass the time. You could always do that.

Timeline of my order - if anyone's interested: Order placed with Lexus - 9 June Car leaves Japanese port of Nagoya - 30 July Ship stops Suez South Anchorage for 5 hours whilst awaiting its slot through the canal - 18 August Ship stops for 8 hours at first drop off in Sagunto (Spain) - 24 August Ship arrives in Royal Portbury for its second drop off - 29 August Estimated to arrive at dealer - 11 September So that's a full 3 months from order to delivery - but we already knew that would be the case. After Royal Portbury the ship then stopped at Zeebrugge, in Belgium followed by Malmo in Sweden and then Bremerhaven in Germany where it's currently moored up whilst loading / unloading. I'm now waiting to see where it goes after Germany.

You definitely need to see colours on a drab day. When I bought a Toyota GT86 I was going to go for the metallic orangey colour as is really sparkles in the sun. On the drab day I went to see one at the dealers it looked flat and orange-brown in colour. I ended up going for red in the end.

Undine arrived at Royal Portbury this morning and is still moored up. Next stop - Zeebrugge.

This was this afternoon as Undine left the Spanish port to head to Bristol.

I asked Lexus Blog for the boats details via their website. They wanted a couple of details and my ETA and they, by return, supplied the boats details. I’ve tracked it since leaving Japan. There are good ship tracking apps and poor ones. For me, on iOS, I use MarineTraffic which, so far, has been excellent.

Departing Sagunto right now (13:30) and next stop Bristol. ETA Wednesday 29th August. Only 2 stops though for whole of Europe. Wonder if there’s loads of US bound cars on it?

Ship has just cleared Suez and entered the eastern Mediterranean. Next stop, Sagunto in Spain. Anyone else expecting their Lexus soon as it’s likely on ‘my’ ship?

After a few days being dark the ship is now fully reporting its position. After tracking across Indonesia and passing Sri Lanka it finally made it to the Gulf of Aden (complete with armed guards on board due to passing Somalia). Right now it's in the Red Sea before joining the queue to pass through the Suez Canal. Should make the Med tomorrow or early Saturday. After that it's anyones guess. My previous track was my Toyota GT86. After Suez it stopped off in Greece before steaming up the Adriatic to unload in the Slovenian port of Koper. Next stop after that was Bristol (Portbury).

Car is currently off the Indonesian coast, arrives at Suez on the 18th August and Bristol docks on the 27th August. Slowly getting closer.

Cheers Peter. Is the LKA and RSA on UK cars?

Had a call from the dealer that the NX will land at their centre on the 8 September (maybe slightly earlier). Allowing a day to travel up from the PoE how long will the car be at the docks before it sets off? A day or so? Now to find out which boats it’s on and track it. I did this with a GT86 order.🙄

I remember seeing on the test drive the car’s speed, nav directions and power bar or tacho. I can’t remember if it had anything else and my dealer has sold his NX Premier so I can’t go back and check. The wife’s Mazda CX-3 shows the car’s speed, road speed, traffic signs, nav instructions, BSM, LKA and ‘time for a break’ message with a coffee cup symbol.🙂

They’re a bit different to the ones I saw in a fresh NX Sport as I mentioned above. Is the infotainment system updated at the Port of Entry?

I know the HUD shows your speed, nav instructions, power meter (or tach) but what else is covered? audio info? LKA and BSM info? road speed? cheers Peter

I sat in a brand new NX Sport today. Decided to have a gander at the software numbers. They were: Model ID DCU 17LDL2EU-DB01 Model ID MEU 17LML2EU-FB00 Audio 1012 Navigation 1461 navdb_version 919 Don't know how these numbers relate to the current details.

Looks great. Be interesting to hear your views on the new model vs the previous.

They do look good. Hate to think what the stealer would charge for fitting them. I'll enquire nearer the time.
