  1. My 2018 NX Premier only has 2-way on the drivers seat, nothing for the passenger although I still find them very comfortable. However, one of the (many) reasons for ordering an ES Takumi is for the 4-way lumbar for both front seats and drivers seat thigh extension which is very long. It comes up behind my knees and pushes them up. For me, the seats are very comfortable and cosseting. Still stands that a luxury car should have some lumbar adjustment for the driver, at least.
  2. On my NX there are 2 rear camera modes. One with the 3 quadrants lit up (wide but slightly fish eye) and one with 1 quadrant lit up (less wide but less distorted). You can click on either and, in the case of the NX at least, it stays with the last selected image when you restart the car. Quality-wise, I’m more than satisfied.
  3. Yes, bought one but waiting for delivery. Coming from China so may be a week or two yet. Don’t worry, as soon as it arrives I’ll be racing up to my nearest centre to try it out. This forum will be the first to know the outcome.
  4. I like the bottom photo. Didn’t know about the speed meter. I’m off to check my NX.
  5. So it would seem...
  6. I was stating that the USB cover could be removed which frees up a bit more room whether you’re plugging in a USB cable or, indeed, a flash drive. I need a cable that I can plug into the USB port and shut the lid. The American sought cable appears to be able to do that (someone in the states confirmed you can close the lid with this specific cable) and it’s iPhone compatible too. I’ve ordered one so I’ll find out shortly whether my £5 was well spent. I personally don’t like BT for music as I prefer the sound via a hard connection particularly if it’s going to be played through the ML setup. But BT is always a fallback option.
  7. Presumably you can just remove the rubber cover. Might not go back on again though but that’s not a problem.
  8. I love them. They really stand out in a sea of yellow lights. It’s the same with cyclists. If they have flashing front and rear lights they stand out against those cyclists that don’t have them. Cannot see why they’re an issue to some drivers.
  9. I'm ok leaving my iPhone out of the space but I'd like it plugged in and with the lid to be able to be closed. I'd probably just stand the phone up in the other cupholder or in the centre cubby. Still, I've got 5-6 months to resolve the issue! 🙂
  10. Thanks for checking. Looks like it is does open then unless we find a super slim 90 degree USB cable. I'll get back to the US guys and verify their USB cable allows the door to be closed.
  11. Depressing, isn’t it when you consider how much additional stuff is in a Lexus and yet it’s not mentioned. Also, how the journalists bang on if an AUDI or BMW has an electric steering wheel adjustment yet not mention it in a Lexus test.
  12. Might have to try the rear USB ports in the ES to see if you can control the infotainment from the front. My NX doesn’t have rear USB, only rear heat. Might shout out to Vinny to check for us.
  13. Nope, my iPhone doesn’t show up on the infotainment screen when plugged into the 12v accessory port.
  14. Yes, this would be great if you can control the phone on the cars infotainment screen via usb plugged into the 12v accessory port. I’ve got one of the adapters so I’ll try it in my 2018 NX.
  15. Mike, I’ve ordered a Deep Blue Takumi with rich cream interior. I still need to look at the USB issue as my iPhone is always plugged in and the current arrangement will look a bit clumsy as well as not showing the nice wood.
  16. Thanks for the update on the USB. Do you have a confirmed date in July for delivery? My Centre said around July 23rd at the time of ordering but, no doubt, will change once the factory confirms the build date.
  17. I didn’t get manuals last September when I picked up my new NX other than something I can’t remember but you can request them to be sent to you. Personally, I’m not bothered as they are available online (or will be soon). I’ll download them onto iBooks on my iOS devices. Much easier to read on the iPad - and about the same size as the printed manual - plus you can word search, mark sections, zoom in and about, etc. I’ve currently got the USA ES manuals on my iPad.
  18. This was one of my favourite features in my GS F Sport so I’m looking forward to having these again in the ES. In my current NX it’s a manual button for both, no auto feature. Ditto the heated steering wheel - manual in the NX, 2 stage auto heat in the ES.
  19. Yes, that is an excellent package and good value considering all the additional tech you get. Habu
  20. Can’t say I notice the FWD vs RWD difference in normal driving and I’ve come from GS F Sport and a modified GT86. Only when really pushing the 86 could you feel the difference. Almost all of my driving I’m just following the cars in front or doing around 70mph on dual carriageways. This next 12 months I want smooth, quiet and lots of toys. Habu
  21. Does the F Sport with Takumi pack include the ML audio? My priorities were ML audio, HUD, ventilated seats, 360 camera, BSM and RCTA-B. I therefore went for the NX Premier with pan roof. Bought it new in September 2018. Now have an ES Takumi on order🙂. Now that is fully loaded even over my NX. Highlights are auto heat and cool seats, auto 2 stage heated wooden steering wheel, 14 way drivers seat with thigh extension, memory on both front seats, 1800 watt 17 speaker ML, 10.2” HUD, climate concierge, heated and powered rear seats, powered blind and rear seat controller (for heat, power recline, audio and temperature). Extremely quiet, more poke than the NX and real MPG in the 50’s. I’ll miss the higher seating position, AWD and occasional practicality but not the poor MPG.
  22. Yes, I've found that and added it to my car manuals in iBooks. Definitely some bedtime reading.
  23. I know but Mike was asking about the accessory socket. I thought I had seen one in the centre cubby. Just on the USB issue: given there are 2 USB sockets in the rear, could a phone be plugged into here and control the infotainment screen?
  24. Our cousins across the pond have found this successful but I’d want it iPhone compatible. I don’t know whether it is. As Mike said I’ll be looking for an adapter rather than replacing my OEM Apple cable. https://m.newegg.com/global/uk-en/product/9SIA3ZH1DC9615
