  1. I use it every day. As soon as I start the car I hit the Hold button (it turns off when you turn off the car). In stop / start traffic it’s excellent. Car just happily sits on the brakes until I’m ready to move off.

    Mine make a small noise at the top of the sweep just as they turn to return to the park position. The ES has only done a couple of hundred miles so may need softening up a bit more?
  3. I only got 2 front rubber mats with the ES rather than the 4 I got with the NX when buying the protection pack. The ES's rubber mats though are amazing. They even cover the drivers foot rest with one continuous piece of deep moulded rubber.

  5. I prefer the music on my iPhone to play in the car via a physical connection rather than BT. I don’t know if other features work over both BT and a cable.

I like the electronic versions as (i) I can search for words and highlight areas (ii) on a tablet it’s the same size as the printed version (iii) I can read them in the dark / bed and, if required, expand the text (iv) the electronic versions are up to date. My current versions of the owners manual and Nav manual are dated August 2019. It’s my 2nd update to the U.K. manuals.🙂

  9. In the sun and bright lights it looks brighter and really sparkles. Right now in the fading light it looks almost black.
  10. Sorry for the rubbish glare filled photo but here is the heated windscreen (just the wipers?) in my ES.
  11. Press the 3 dots and the screen returns to full. They’ll be to the right of Info. Mine returns back to full automatically after a few seconds so it might be a setting.
  12. Checked my ES software details today as follows: Audio: 1010 Nav: 1520 navdb_version: A36_4 I’ve really no idea what the navdb_version number is about.😕
  13. Picked up the deep blue Takumi this afternoon from Lexus Teesside. Presentation was very good and it came with nice surprises. Yes, I went for G3 ceramic which they applied to the wheels as well as the bodywork. The G3 case and goodies inside is very nice. Got another interesting box which was jammed packed full of first aid kit, fire extinguisher, flare 😈, high viz vests, ponchos, etc. Never seen this before but it’s very nice. Plus a nice wicker basket full of yummy goodies. Also found that the car does have a windscreen wiper de-icer. The button is located in the HVAC concierge page.👍

More info from Joaquin Ruhi - Lexus Spain dealers will offer free Apple CarPlay / Android Auto retrofits on the following models (if equipped with the compatible MM17 multimedia system): UX (2019 and 2020 model years) built on March 2019 or later NX (2018, 2019 and 2020 model years) built on September 2017 or later ES (2019 and 2020 model years) built on October 2018 or later - Other Lexus models are NOT compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. - Free dealer installation of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto retrofits for eligible vehicles will start in December 2019 for vehicles WITHOUT navigation and in April 2020 for vehicles WITH navigation.

  16. Firstly, I’ve had my own IS300h previously and it was fine but I’m in a brand new IS just for a week and it’s great. I’ve just chopped in my September 2018 NX Premium ready to pick up my new ES. Rather than picking up the ES on the 1 September I’ve elected to wait until Friday 6 September. My local dealer has leant me a brand new IS (19 plate, practically zero miles) to get me through to Friday. After my NX it’s so much more comfortable, not surprisingly wayyyyyyy quicker and super quiet and smooth. It’s s base model but with Premium Pack. The PP wheels are stunning and overall it’s a very striking car particularly in Sonic White. I like a lot. I’m missing BSM, RCTA-B and the HUD but otherwise it’s great. Weirdly, it has the 10.3” screen like the NX but it appears deeper than the NX which makes driving in nav mode easier. The NX’s screen appears very shallow - think letterbox - and it’s impossible to read street names on the NX’s screen whilst on the IS they’re larger. Two things I don’t like: still has the foot operated parking brake and the infotainment menu and reversing camera image are still in around 6-7” mode so there’s black space around the screen edge. Seems strange not to have updated the software to use the larger screen. Habu

  18. Thanks, yes. So there is a sort of crease line that passes through the lower part of the grille and heads towards the trim above the door bin. I took a photo that just caught an edge of the grille and thought it might be a mark. Thanks for uploading. Habu

  20. I won't be back at my dealer until collection day but I didn't get a picture of the 6x9 speakers in the lower front doors when at the dealers yesterday. I just need to check something. Would anyone be able to post a pic of their 6x9 speaker and surround. Either door would suffice. Regards Habu
  21. I use Meguiars drying towel. Very large and super thick. Lay on panel, pat pat and lift off. Perfect results and dry panel. No need to rub or wipe the panel. £20 and washes great.👍
  22. I'm up in North Yorkshire. So long as my car is generally free of swirls I will collect on the day and do any fine adjustments when I'm back at home. Noticed today that a tonne of the safety tech was in a malfunction state. I've seen this on pretty much on most cars in the Lexus and Toyota showrooms. Not sure what's involved with the PDI process to clear them. Yes, we should aim to try and meet up sometime with fellow Yorkshire / North East members. Peter
