you have grey leather aswell like mine - thats rare very easy to keep clean unlike cream - black in my opinion doesn't to the car justice

The mirrors don't stow on the mk 4 ls400 do they? I dont think mine do they did on a very few late 400s - year 2000 ones

i would say if you're going to change then go for a Mark 4 - i had mine for 2 years before changing to 430 and i didnt experience any battery problems despite doing mainly local runs -
yes does appear to be looked after - nice touches with the stuck on numberplates the reg rings a bell - i have seen it somewhere?

£200 !!! thats daylight robbery - who would let a mark 4 go for that much? - was it is a bad condiiton?

yes - you are right - they are rare and you have been lucky to get hold of one - did you get the emergency key with yours which is a keyblade held in a credit sized card?

hi removing the battery will definatley help - it will give you plenty of working room and changing bulb will take virtually seconds - just make sure you dont loose the battery retaining bar - it hooks onto a hole in the bottom of the battery tray - goodluck

Have you checked that the keyless entry isn't switched off under the dash? Some owners turn it off out of preference. good point - didnt think of that lol

hi the steering motors on the 400 range are pretty reliable unlike the 430 previous posts suggest removing the steering cowl and lubricating the moving parts http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/81563-steering-reach/ ref the bulb - if its the small wedge bulb (501 i think) then you just twist the connector at the back of the lamp and the it comes right out - hope this helps

so far i have found only a lexus dealer can program the key to operate the keyless unlock and start function - price varies from £180 - £220 - might be an idea to ask to see an invoice

I don't know how Halfords get away with what they do. How can one of their staff carry out a 71 point check on a car as complex as an LS400? They should stick to selling bikes and chamois leathers....and while they're at it, training their staff to have some manners and learn about the importance of customer relations! It seems to be back on Gumtree and has now graduated to a cat D! phil it was originally mentioned as Cat D reference Halfords: very overpriced - i only use them if i cannot wait for the post to come thru

my 430 has auto wipers and lights - i rarely have to touch either of these - they work perfectly when needed
