excellent post! this does restore my faith in the gs450h to some extent - as someone said above knowledge really is power. does one cell failing mean you will likely see the problem return in the future? ps at what mileage did you have this problem

lexus nailed it with the mark 4 and clearly as we have seen prices for these have risen and those in the know-how are holding onto them. the ls430 in the other hand is not quite as desirable now that they are ageing. Clearly suspension faults, steering motors and radiator/gearbox are very expensive repairs which puts potential buyers off. the seats dont wear aswell as the 400s and all too often you see quite new cars heading off to the scrapper. I dont know why lexus bothered with the air suspension. my 430 will never been as smooth as my mark 4 but apart from that i love the car and touchwood it has been perfect the 3 years i have had it. I know and am prepared for the fact that one day i might be landed with a big bill

it looks like both the gold one and the silver one with 29k miles are being sold by the same person/trader - both on auto trader now

yep - that ones has been on sale for a while now - i would say atleast 2 months Now that i look at AT everyday for 450hs , i have noticed that they are slow sellers

gold mark 4 with 56k - just been relisted on auto trader I believe for the 3rd time - it wasnt on for a of weeks or so and i thought i had sold but obviously not

i think they must of changed it recently because you used to need the MOT test number or document reference number. good tool

hi mike different dealers have different markup on different cars - their attitude might be different if selling a brand new car to a used on. personally i would'nt be afraid to ask for a warranty to be thrown in on the screen price - the worst they can say is no and you can always up your offer. good luck with the car hunting - why do you want to change to a 450h?

alright mark long time no see! winter tyres have a slightly softer compound to aid with grip so wont be any louder. personally have never had the need for them

very nice - it looks like you still have the polished finish on your LS alloys

personallu only ever open the sunroof a handful of time - i rarely have the windows open aswell as i dont like dust flying into the car

falkens are generally good and some LS member prefer them on the LS cars. being runflats they will have a thicker/harder sidewall which may mean the ride is a little firmer and noisier HTH

Get to 80mph where the gear ratio changes then the power surge cuts in even stronger. It then comes down to whether you want to keep that licence or not. - love it !

ok guys here's my take 1) lexus say they are sealed for life and 2) In the 8 years i have been looking at lexi i have never heard of a gearbox failure or problem of any sort on any 400 mk1,2,3 and 4. 3) Nobody has said that changing the oil makes a major difference to the gearbox so question remains - why should it be changed?

i think the past episodes of the wheeler dealers were the best - im not a fan of the recent ones where mike goes to america
