  1. where as the ls430 does have some weak points i'm pleased to tell you that it is definitely a notch better in terms of gear change/effortless ride. in the mark 4 you do notice the revs and gears change especially when cold - in the 430 you don't - even when cold you dont hear the engine note or gear changes. - the throttle is more sensitive so the car feels very light - you also don't hear the steering retract - all done silently.
  2. agree with that - never use to buy cars over 100k but ever since joining the lexus fold i have changed my thinking - my 430 when i bought it had 112k
  3. well now that the public and dealers are catching onto how good these mark 4s are and how rare low mileage ones are - they are asking whatever the like for them - and lets face it - cars like this are hard to value - they are worth what someones prepared to pay for them. this car was sold buy the original seller for £7000 to a private dealer who had it on for £8995. The dealer on autotrader has now bought it and put his own mark up on it and fair play to him.
  4. looks nice and tidy - why would his end up at an auction and to retailed by the lexus dealer?
  5. ha ha - seen that - not comfortable viewing - i was praying the glasses would'nt fall and scratch the bonnet because they did here:
  6. HI Have you rang a lexus dealer - i remember when i enquired for one for my mark 3 they said they were available for around £40 odd pounds - dont quote me on that as it was 8 years ago
  7. very satisfying to have it working - i remember when i bought my mark 3 about 8 years ago - i had to wait a week till mine got fixed and it felt like forever
  8. have you noticed how the other maroon 400 plate ending HCD keeps getting relisted becuase the reserve doesnt get met. also lexus chap has a nice tidy maroon one for sale aswell
  9. ah they are available - the dealers here couldnt find them on the parts diagram when i was looking so i gave up
  10. this recently sold just over a month ago from seller in bristol it has now turned up again in nottingham - looks like the sale ad has been copied and pasted i wonder why the sudden resale?
  11. yes i agree with you but mine were beyond repair so to tidy the look up i had to have them removed
  12. hi jack 1) to remove stereo start by unscrewing the gearknob and lifting the surround - start at the cupholder end and work upwards. then you need to remove the centre air vents - slide 2 lolli stick like objects each side of the vents and pull towards you then you have 2 screws at the top and 2 at the bottom and its ready to come out. 2) the backlighting i never attempted myself - i used car auto repairs in hove who done it for £85 8 years ago 3) the from spoiler - 8 years ago i found that it was not available so i had mine removed completely from both sides hope this helps
  13. http://210.211.49.136/technology_explorer/intelligent_adaptive_front-lighting_system_AFS.asp?model=All it looks like when turning the lights only turn 5 degrees to prevent blinding oncoming drivers where if you are turning left they turn 15 degrees which probably explains what you have noticed http://www.toyota-global.com/innovation/safety_technology/safety_technology/technology_file/active/afs.html hope this helps
  14. im always on the look out for LS or GS vehicles but hardly ever seen one
  15. well its still around - the price jumped to 5K - now priced at 3.5k with hybrid fault
  16. hi have a read here about prius cells compatibility: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/102648-lexus-gs450h-2006-re-hydrating-hybrid-battery-cells/
  17. i can just about make out a brown rusty tint around the edge of my rear numberplate on my facelift 430. i dont lexus would do anything about it becuase it was probably caused by the holes for the numberplate. i think it was mentioned on this forum somewhere that lexus will only repair if the rust starts on the inside and works its way onto the outer skin
  18. yes true - these were imported into the UK albiet very small numbers. if i remember correctly a member on here was looking into buying one
  19. HI jan I dont own a 450h but have been looking into them for a while and it appears there is no aftermarket option for these i can't answer your specific question but just wanted to suggest amayama.com - they sell genuine parts but cheaper for example lexus have listed on ebay front shock £311.40 - by putting the same number in on the amayama website i got a price of £158.44. whatever you decide please do post up - it will be helpful to members
  20. for me personally stickers on leather is a no no - it just doesnt do the car interior any justice - if it was embossed it might look more the part. just my opinion hope i dont offend anyone
