ambermarine is right
i am sure all lexus models came with heated mirrors.
sometimes the heating elements part from the mirror on the back causing the mirror to darken or have a rainbow effect on it meaning it needs to replacing. might be worth inspecting to see if its an aftermarket non-heated mirror
Hi tony normally changing the battery does not require re-programming of the key.
nevertheless the instructions are here:

have a read hear regarding an aftermarket alternative.

the car bluetooth is a bit of a headache - the sound quality is not that good either especially at the other end - i have never used it
hi phil
this problem was discussed somewhere on the forum here - due to the bluetooth tech in the car being old it is not always possible.
i remember one member bought a particular model old nokia phone which worked well with the lexus system which he kept in the car as a "car phone"
i think with modern phones you might struggle and might have to resort to adding each contact one by one
this car is now listed by a different seller as an auction
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-LS430-FULLY-LOADED-FANTASTIC-DRIVE-AND-LUXURY-2002-/201497849606?hash=item2eea352f06:g:fAAAAOSwwPhWjSSX
phil its probably not a good idea to put this on the forum - it might turn into a sour thread if the other member responds.
have you tried to address this directly with the seller?
Thanks for the tip, but I am in Dublin, so this would be a bit of a journey to me :)
is it possible to remove the amplifier? - thats what i done with mine - posted it to them and the fixed and posted back
have you seen this one - it been listed the second time

phil i found the sound quality to be very poor especially on the other end - i have never used it after the first trial so if you cannot connect don't worry too much about it.
thankfully my car came with a ck nokia kit which is brilliant.
white is a rare colour especially for the mark 4 - grey leather and carpets are also better than cream and does not show dirt or cracks easily - i think if you look after it it can only appreciate in value
remember to enforce the rule: No kids, pets or food in the car lol
i use gliptone leather cleaner and feed to keep the leather supple and prevent cracking and wear
hi
i have not come across a change interval - the main reason it fails is corrosion around the connectors for the transmission fluid resulting in coolant getting into the gearbox.
it was recommended on the forum here to use the correct lexus red coolant to prevent the problem but there is no bonifide proof that aftermarket coolant causes the problem.
have a read here:
http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/101246-ls430-this-is-where-the-gearbox-problems-begin/
Mine is still on the original radiator and i do check the coolant color from time to time.
at least 2 members on this forum have fitted separate aftermarket transmission fluid coolers to prevent the problem altogether.
have a read here where the same person has fitted one:
http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/100085-for-you-ls430-owners-gear-box-cooler-fitted-today/
hi
chas had mine for over 3 years.
i actually went from a 400 to 430 and had other gripes about it - mainly cabin noise and road feel - which took a while to get used
other than that i have been very happy with it and (touchwood) nothing has gone wrong with it - only needed yearly servicing.
