  1. yes exterior looks nice and straight - interior will need a good clean - there is alot the camera doesnt show especially on cream interiors.
  2. hi yes have seen that before and im sure a thread was started on here not a fan - looks ugly and lost
  3. might be an idea to disconnect the battery for few minutes just reset all the electrics and see if that makes a difference
  4. yes - as you know now the knob twists in both directions depending on which setting is required hot or cold
  5. Ye Phil, if you see radar ready when you engage cruise, top spec had keyless entry and go, soft closing doors, rear screen and side window blinds, a fridge, and power seats in the rear. William Yes. Has everything but don't recall anything coming up on dash apart from cruise. hi phil only the facelift 430s came ACC Adaptive Cruise Control or Radar Cruise Control - in tends to be limited to 55 and 06 plate cars. The easiest way to tell is to look at the grill - the ones which have have a clear rectangle around the logo like this overpriced example at Lexus coventry: http://www.raccars.co.uk/used-lexus/ls/details-12279809/lexus-ls-430-4-3-v8-4dr-auto-acc-pcs if you then lift the bonnet you will see a square box behind the grill which contains the electrical gubbins for the ACC then as someone mentioned above when you press cruise a picture of a car with road markings comes up and says cruise ready. hope this helps
  6. its a nice clean LS with some nice filming and lovely close running clips.......................................p.s hitting the mute button is strongly advised prior to viewing as music maybe offensive lol
  7. yes - best way is to get one from lexus - cost is around £180 including the programming - you will need to provide car ownership details. Even if you buy a second key from the UK - you will still need to take it to lexus to get it programmed to perform smart entry and start functions. don't be tempted to buy a cheap key from the USA - they do not work as they operate on a different frequency
  8. hi first and foremost i would remove the steering cowl and give a dose of lubricant to see if it makes a difference. the tilt motor is easier to change than the telescopic motor have a read here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-3rd-gen-2001-2006/674677-2005-ls430-tilt-motor-replacement.html
  9. hi the LS430 seats are quite reliable - i would check the electrical connections underneath the car - do the lights come on when the knob is turned?
  10. well there is a 07 plate GS450h for sale which has 23 months warranty included - so going by that the cars needs to be less than 10 years old when the warranty is taken out.
  11. they will probably take the door card off to check if the rust started on the inside. The boot might be difficult - mine is 04 plate and can just about see a slight orange stain coming up from the underside - it starts at the numberplate screw holes although mine are now stuck on
  12. hi martin I haven't got one but been looking for a while as a replacement for my LS430. The main faults to look out for are: 1) Leaking shock absorbers - these can start as early as 60k miles and the only replacement as i write is lexus parts. 2) Hybrid problems can start to surface the closer you are 100k - mainly these relate to failing individual cells within the battery - these can be replaced with used ones but will cost you £700 by specialist companies. 3) There has been 2-3 cases of failed transmission pumps - lexus will probably quote for a new gearbox - however a member here " hayne" fixed his for alot less - look fout for warning lights on test drive 4) Seized calipers is another to look out for. thats all i can think of - when looking take an extended test drive to ensure no warning lights come on. I look on auto trader and other sites every single day and these cars are very slow movers so negotiate. As you can see the list is small but relative costs are high for example £700 buys alot of fuel Many member have opted for an extended lexus warranty which costs £995 for 2 years - this also covers the Hybrid Battery. Lexus will also do hybrid Health check and warranty the battery for 12 months and costs £59 hope this helps
  13. well now listed again with the original seller alfamad123 - yep agree same seller - 2 accounts
  14. i meant the barrel which is between the fuel cap release and boot release situated in the cabin near the drivers right knee - if the barrel is pushed in it means the boot is locked and will only once by inserting the key and releasing the barrel
  15. also check the cylinder barrel etween the petrol flap and boot release pull is not pressed in
  16. True - when i bought my 430 it seemed huge but now its second nature - same goes when you buy new glasses LOL - bought some last week and my right ear was aching - i was on the verge of buying another set (same as my last ones) however all is now well
  17. hi phil thats correct - the whole hub gets replaced - i understand it is a quick job - just 4 bolts to remove the hub - i cannot see it taking more than an hour tops - i have just done a quick search on ebay and prices start at around £60 for an aftermarket part - this should give you an idea of how much to pay for the leather i use gliptone leather cleaner - if the seat is really dirty give it good 2-3 cleans with this stuff doing a small section at a time - it has evaporating qualities which work well with the perforated leather. Then finish off with gliptone leather feed hope this helps
  18. that looks absolutely gorgeous - paint still shining like that after all those years - sheer quality workmanship.
  19. does'nt have springs? i thought it was spring but stiffer . . . .
  20. there is more info here http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/68357-dynamic-handling-pack/
  21. to me it doesnt look like it has the DHP as its sitting quite high - if you ring a lexus dealer and they will be able to tell you
  22. hi these are the alloys which were fitted to the ls400s which had the Dynamic Handling Pack (DHP) - This meant slightly lower ride height and wider tyres which gave the car a slightly firmer ride and better handling when cornering - if your car is DHP then these are correct. The normal 400s had the 5 shallow spoke alloys.
