  1. Hi alex i cannot advise on the noise but check the colour of your coolant to rule out mixing of transmission oil I am sure someone will be along very soon who will have a better idea than me ref the noise
  2. Ahhhhh - thats therapy for the eyes! - decent examples are getting very rare - enjoy your new ride
  3. naah ! its not a patch on the white mark 3 LS400 u used to have !!! lol nah seriously it looks pretty mean!
  4. I think it is the characterisitic of the tyre that makes the car do this - I had a 4 wheel alignemnt done on my car but that did not cure the problem so i had to live with with untill the tyres needed changing - the fact its quite a wide tyre does not help - thankfully the new tyres have cured this
  5. Glad you got it sorted The LS430 is the same - The whole hub has to be replaced
  6. Ok houston - the light is back on - i repaeat the light is back on! so it looks like back to the original diganosis to replace the oxygen sensor(s)
  7. mmmmm its either scrapped or waiting in a garage somewhere for either Mike Brewer or Tim from Car SOS
  8. I recenty replaced the tyres on my 430. When i was looking at all the labels info it was very confusing - there were £50 budget tyres with very good noise and grip ratings compared to top brands whch were between £100 and £150 with very similar if not worse ratings. In the end I went and bought mid range Avon tyres and my choice turned out to be spot on. The original dunlops gave alot of tyre roar even at local driving speeds, they were very unforgiving on uneven surfaces and dragged on full lock. With the Avon all this is sorted - they are very quote (car has never been so quite in the last 4 years), very supple and forgiving on uneven surfaces and the dragging on full lock has gone - very happy indeed.
  9. Me too! - definatley have a soft spot for the Mark 4 - if funds allowed I would buy a mint Mark 3 and Mark 4 just to tinker with at the weekends
  10. Hi Brendan I was going to start a simillar thread but you beat me to it. I have a similar problem on my 04 plate 430 - the engine light is on with VSC off warning and red triangle - but no loss of performance or any difference in the drivability- I took it to a garage and it was diagnosed as oxygen sensor - I was hoping to get it done in the next few weeks when i read on the GS forum regarding the petrol cap. I purchased a New gasket (actually got it free from the toyota garage) after steve kindly gave me the part number. I replaced the seal yesterday - reset the ECU and done a 3 mile run - so far no lights. I guess only time will tell as I have not driven it much
  11. I agree with phil - the LS430 is a nice place to be in and for me especially during the last 3 weeks since i have ditched the Dunlops and had the Avons fitted - the car is even quiter and smoother. The air suspension risk is there but I am not really worried nor do i think of going back to the 400 becuase of this. The LS430 is a big step forward - with the keyless entry, soft close doors (I close mine this way all the time), reverse camera and allround modern interior. For me to be 100% happy with a car I like to have alot of repect for it - I have alot of respect for the 430 - sadly i do not feel same in any other car (probably never will) - even when driving a very modern bmw 5 series with a 25k price tag - just not the same!
  12. TVSS also comes up as Toyota Vehicle Security System - could it be something to do with the alarm and the dial to adjust sensitivity?? ??
  13. I remember seeing that second one for sale by the previous owner about a year ago - a very fine looking motor indeed - look at that paintwork - even after all those years just spells sheer quality workmanship!
  14. Hi Shahpoor I had Dunlop SP sport aswell ! - the noise is the tyre dragging on full lock - after changing the tyres to Avon the car is so quite and smooth its unbelieveable. My tyre size is 245/45/R18 hope this helps others
  15. Hi steve Do you know if the the gasket is availbale for the LS430 fuel cap - i inspected mine and I think it looks a bit flat - please let me know
  16. this car which originally started off at £2995 has been reduced twice now priced at £1995
  17. Hi Guys - just found this thread - my 430 has the same lights/message on - the garage has told me it needs oxygen sensors which i was planning to get changed - do you think it is worth me changing the cap? Also will i need to clear the codes afterwards - reason for asking is when i changed my battery just recently the lights went out for a while and then came back after driving about 5 miles looking forward to your replies
  18. I had to endure the same problem for 4 years on my 430 - I too could not find a solution - i have reverse on full lock all the time and it happened every time - thankfully it has almost gone when I renewed my tyres last week - I changed from Dunlop to Avon hth
