Hi Malcolm The 600 was as you know a very expensive car when new and limited in numbers compared to other models. We only have a handful of members owning one - For this reason there is not many posts on faults etc. If the selling dealer agrees, I would get Lexus to do an inspection expecially the suspension to ensure everything is ok - it is a heavy car and with the added weight of the battery pack the suspension has to cope with alot weight. With regards to the battery: Its too old for a Lexus warranty or Hybrid Health Check - the cutoff is 10 years or 100,000 miles - this is something that you can talk to your dealer about. If you do have a battery fault - its normally just 1/2 of the many cells and there are specialists around who will remove and dismantle the battery - check and replace the weak cells and recondition the battery for around £700 - this is better than Lexus replacing the whole battery which is around £2000 - 3000. Hope this helps

I did this a few years back - you're right it's packed with wiring - I used an electric driver and a long flexi bit holder to screw and unscrew the switch. I noticed on the old faulty switch that the back was slightly loose - this was causing the electrical connection to break causing the blackout.

Hi Steve I used the same procedure myself many years ago (Haylands post) I actually got it the other way round - managed to programme the remote lock.unlock straight away - but i couldnt get it to start - I must of attempted it about 30 times untill it worked and I have no idea why it didnt work earlier! I would say just keep trying

The above procedure is for the mark 4 only - the ls430 keyless unlock and start can only be done by a dealer

Its priced high!.................However it is a better deal than the white Mark 1 on AT which is also commanding 4K!

Well these cars are so quite it's easily done - I once started the my 400 and had to pop back in the house for something - when I got back I attempted to start the engine whe it was already running!

i would check th cabin fiter - on the LS series it is accessed throough the glovebox.

It can hit 87mph before any petrol intervention however we found that closer to 20 mph ! Lol what a joke Old technology with a new shell! im sure my 430 can manage 30 mpg on a run but it also comes with the Best build and Material quality not to forget the legendary unstressed V8

Steve check with key butter before ordering to ensure he will cut a blank you supply - some are very cautious and will not cut a customer supplied blank for fear of damaging their equipment

Agree with above - the ls430 motors are even more troublesome than the 400 - I don't touch the steering when it's moving and both motors are fine so far

Sorry Paul cannot offer any advise - let's hope it's not th the common corroded ac pipe lines.

Looks very nice and suits the car well - I have spotted a flaw - in the second picture the car is slightly out of position lol covering the white lines

Another household cleaner I have success with is daz handwash soap powder - I use a mild solution and microcloth to clean my grey ls430 carpets after vacuum - works very well

That LS looks fine - I wonder why they are breaking it - there is a set on gumtree aswell for £50

The starter motor contacts fail so the starter motor does not engage - the problem is getting to the motor - it's located on top of the engine and requires a lot of dismantling including the inlet manifold - when I bought my mark 4 many years ago the mechanic spent 7 hours replacing it

Generally speaking the facelift 2010 onwards version looks nice with the full chrome grill - I see very few for sale Of that age

on my 430 you have select auto time update to off before you can adjust it

yes i remember the first time i saw one - does'nt look right - the size does not suit the car or the name!

only thing is the tips at the end slope downwards - im not sure they do slope on the 430 because of the chrome tips
