  1. Ok - I just went and got the user manual and can confirm what I said above: If you attempt to close the boot with the key in there then the car will sound an alarm for 10 seconds and the boot will be able to be opened via the button. Page 48 of the user manual hope this helps
  2. Ok this happened a couple of years ago but Im pretty certain on my facelift 430 the boot will not lock and beep if the keys are inside - perhaps this only happens on the facelift. Alec my thinking here is even if the keys are inside the boot they are still in close range therfore the boot should still open when the button is pressed? (the button next to the numberplate light) - have you tried that? This is demonstrated in this video here albiet a newer vehicle:
  3. HI Vasilis This is a common problem on the 460 - One memebr SH20 has detailed a fix here:
  4. The Lexus paintwork is the best i have every seen - mine has been neglected lately - meaning i have not been able to wash it myself - but even with a simple wash it really gleams and thats after 13 years it came out of the factory! - modern paints are no where as durable. Shirish your car looks absolutley lovely - green is one of my favourite colours - i used to own one in the same colour.
  5. Since the topic has turned to pricing have a look at this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS-2005-430-4-3-V8-4dr-Auto-ACC-PCS-Saloon-/322608535311?hash=item4b1cf7970f:g:5J4AAOSwR4FZgppc I can't figure why a main dealer would be selling a 12 year old Lexus LS430 with over 100k on the clock for 10K??
  6. regarding the price - I bought my 04 plate with 112k on the clock for less that that 4.5 years ago!
  7. I don't need encouragement - simply nothing else will do - best cars ever made!
  8. The lights have locaating lugs which push into holes on the car bodywork Maybe this will help:
  9. I had ferrodo pads on my mark 4 and they are as close as you can get to Lexus oem - now I have pagid discs with ferrodo pads on my ls430 and they are just like the original setup hope this helps
  10. Stuart Its just how the gearbox drives - once you lift of the gas there is very little rolling resistance - the car just glides along.
  11. Hi Frank The GS450H is an amazing car and im saying that without ever driven one. It does have its weak points which you should check as follows: Ideally should have FSH with a hybrid health check certificate Leaking shocks are a common problem - try to check these - look for advisories on the MOT history Seized calipers is another - touch the wheels after a test drive to see if the feel warm or hot. Creaking dash is another - listen out for cabin noises If it has radar cruise then check it works - there has been some reports of these failing due to water ingress Check the exhaust - they are prone to rusting - rear boxes and joints Check the headlights stay on - some problems have been reported where one goes out due to connections at the bulb failing. Check the TPMS - these often start leaking and need to be replaced. Check for corosion under the leading bonnet under edge. Check for dampness on rear carpets - there has been an isolated incident of blocked drains causing this problem I think thats about it - obviously make sure all the electrics work including keyless entry - ride should be smooth and quite. Remember it has locking weheel nut key. Hope this helps
  12. The pump failure fix has been documented here atleast twice - the bearings are pennies And can be changed Fairly easily and quickly without even a lift - the other main issues are the batteries cells which are £700 to put right from an independent and leaking shock absorbers which is a dealer only part.
  13. I owned a Mark 2 Toyota Carina and 1992 Camry which had indicator stalks on the right
  14. Ok Guys - filled up earlier and this time paid attention to the inside of the filler cap cover and YES it does have a slot for the cap to be temporarily hanged - the designers didn't miss anything - brilliant!
  15. He's got one just like mine - I'm Ashamed to say despite owning it over 4 years I don't know there is a cradle?
  16. Glad you got it sorted - your car looks amazing with gleaming paintwork and immaculate body! Love it
  17. Joseph there is no definitive answer but i read somewhere on the forums is that the problems relates to the heat generated within the battery cells - the cells in the middle of the battery are unable to be adequatley cooled therefore shortening their life - the result is the charge they hold drop causing the check hybrid error
  18. The squeak is dry bushes due to the hot weather - should resolve with weather
  19. Yep - I saw that too - definatley a bargain at that price - I can't really see the mentioned imperfections in the paintwork
  20. Sorry I cannot answer your question but wanted to ask how the gs450h compares with mark 4 on ride smoothness and cabin noise?
  21. There is no definitive answer - when I had my mark 3 and 4, I never experienced any problems starting after flat battery or battery changeover - however from Time to time I have come across articles where some of the mark 2 s and 3 s have been fitted with an aftermarket scorpion alarm system which does need resetting - I would just put the battery back and give it a try and see what happens - I reckon it will just start as normal.
  22. Atleast one meme her had the Acc fail because the sensor at the front behind the grill had water ingress - might be worth checking - if it is faulty you could approach the dealer to pay for repairs
