  1. Lovely looking LS - same colour as mine The Quality of materials on these cars is amazing - these show very little wear and tear - that cannot be said about modern vehicles - happy motoring!
  2. This one has just been listed http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-LS430-AUTOMATIC-/302496661123?hash=item466e34be83:g:0FQAAOSwTm9Z6546
  3. On a vehicle of this age (to me) FSH means it is serviced every 10,000 miles or once every year which ever comes first - thats how I do mine - I do less than 10k but i still change the oil once every year. However since the missing services go back may years ago I would overlook that and judge the car on its condition and drive. I would also factor in a Timing belt and waterpump change very soon into the price. As phil says £2k would sound about right. The air struts are very reliable on the 430s - I would get a second opinion on the "misting" mentioned above. It certainly looks very tidy and the seller has taken an enthusiastic approach when wriring the advert which is a good sign.
  4. I had to replace mine and found it very awkward on the 430 - had to remove the airfilter box and move coolant bottle out of the way to gain access - maybe someone with smaller handles and nimble fingers might be able to fit it without problems.
  5. This seller has sold LS400s of this standard before. I think the right person will come along and pay the price - I remember about a year ago a low mileage Mark 4 was sold by a dealer £12995. Just as recent as last week a low mileage Mark 4 was advertised for £7k - the advert was barely live (on ebay and AT) for a few days.
  6. Hi If you have paid a deposit to the garage then It would appear the Garage is the seller. If he is merely advertising then really the seller (person on the V5) should be present for you to deal with in which case it would be a private sale.
  7. This must be the modern touch to car servicing - BMW also send you a video of the underside highlighting problem areas.
  8. Poor poor thing! - my heart goes out to her! No Lexus should be going through this
  9. Hi Neil Yes that is the theory. I decided I would re-check everyting today (again before i sent the amp off) starting with connectors and fuses (and finally the amplifier). I never got to the amplifier in the end because the fuse which was OK on my first check was blow today! I decided not to check the amplifier because of all the dismantling - But yeah I was glad to have some music back in the car ! Next I need to get the alloys refurbed, The exhaust tips are looking tired and a replacement oxygen sensor is needed. If you don't mind I would like to keep the CD player as spare?
  10. UPDATE - I have finally manage to solve this - the answer was a simple 30 amp fuse for the amp! I think when swapping the amps over in my haste I did not disconnect the battery terminal which may have blown the fuse which was fine on my initial inspection. Glad its finally sorted and even more glad it did not cost alot to fix. Moral of the story - disconnect battery when working on the car electrics.
  11. Hi Geoff I had the same problem with my 430 door speakers - a common fault it is the centre cone seperates from the outer surround resulting is speaker crackling - I repaired mine with new surrounds and come speaker glue costing only £12 - access was easy - you might want to consider doing a repair before looking for speakers.
  12. John on the LS430 - if the fob goes out of range whilst the engine is running (as in the above scenario) then the car beeps and a message comes up on the dash. Does the GS450H not do that? it must do - its newer?
  13. Actually mark - they look nice and very similar to the original - and the bonus is the extra plate between the exhaust and the tip outer - very nice I might go for them myself Can you post some pictures of them fitted please
  14. The tips on my 430 are looking tired aswell - I was thinking of removing them - getting them chromed plated and putting them back on. I will keep an eye on this thread.
  15. Hiya Nach Yes i noticed that too - I decided against it becuase you cannot use the cargo net once the liner is down. How's it going - havent seen you on the forum for a long time - Have you had any problems with the LS430?
  16. Update: Neil kindly sent me the replacement CD player unit - unfortunatley it does not solve my problem - The audio is still Silent?? Just to recap what i have tried so far without success Disconnected battery to reset electricals Swapped amplifier over with a working one - no difference - both amplifier fans are spinning when switched on. Checked fuses inc footwell ones as suggested by Paul frost Swapped over the head unit The screen error shown above is still present. I spoke to chris at svt services (he repaired my amp) and he suggested sending the amps in for testing - even though I find it hard to believe that both amps are faulty - this maybe my only next option. If you guys have any ideas I am all ears - thanks
  17. I think the design would of been complete if they had added a boot close button - In the current set up in my 430 you have gradually pull down the lid and latch it on - the mechanism then pulls it in - if you let the lid go it slams down under its weight - and no my boot struts are not weak.
  18. Just and update to this thread - my £4.50 wipers are working just fine - just goes to show cheap does not always means bad quality.
  19. Whilst we are on the subject of wipers - I bought into the marketing and purchased a set of Michelin stealth for my LS430 costing £26 - After 8 months the driver side juddering and flapping very loudly and would not clear the windscreen - I then went for cheap aftermarket ones - the company on ebay had sold hundreds - I think they cost me £4.50 and have been on the car for 2 years in December and still work fine.
