  1. The cabin filter is often overlooked - I change it every year with the annual service the bonnet struts are straight forward - 4 x 10mm ( I think) nuts to undo - it helps if another pair of hands holds the bonnet - very straight forward. hope this helps
  2. Good Idea! - Or the OP may have a dashcam already in which case he may have the footage already?
  3. This sounds like a dangerous fault - I would book it in on a day when rain is forecast and ask them to take an extended test drive hoping that the fault will show itself
  4. That does not look right to me - They are prone to getting damaged and pulled easily. I would protect them even if this is normal.
  5. I Agree with red Steve - I have had the same problem before - a bit of brute force usually does the trick
  6. This is a very rare and isolated case. I would ring BBA Reman or SVT services and explain the problem and see what their take is on the problem
  7. Hi It was possible to set a code to these units and some members have reported “sec” meaning security appearing on the display whe they have changed the battery. I would confirm with the seller if the unit has a code or not and ensure he will take it back if it does and is inoperable. some members have reported that the master code is the last 4 digits of the vin number but I’m not sure this is verified. many years ago I used car audio repairs to repair my backlight costing £85 with return postage - you can google them hope this helps
  8. Hi Ja I havent seen one - I think the only members on here with the most recent cars are those with 10/11 plate LS600Hs. One member mentioned (with regards to a 460) that it had lost its magic carpet ride.
  9. I’ll keep looking at this thread until you get this sorted Phil - as I said before I have the same problem but the emissions are spot on so I won’t start buying any parts just yet.
  10. Thats a very tidy example - did not see it advertised anywhere - enjoy
  11. Is this on a 430? - I have this problem aswell and the garage has read the code as oxygen sensor - I have tried the petrol cap gasket by wonder wether I should try replacing the whole cap? The garage did say they emissions are within the limits.
  12. Hi Phil This is very much a personal thing - you obviously look after your cars and it appears you have invested money in it to bring it upto your standard. I would go ahead and get it done - you will be happier with it and the paintwork will be in much better condition when (if) you come to sell I meaning you will have an advantage. I think the key here is to find a bodyshop which will do a very good job of the respray.
  13. This car is an Ex LOC Members car from 6/7 years ago and it is this actual car which was featured in a car magazine - I cannot find the link now
  14. Yep - I always use the soft close - even when you close the doors normally it sounds solid!
  15. Hi That is a very good price - would you say they are as quite as the original boxes? and how well did they match up when fitting?
  16. Well if you have family/kids go for the standard version - if not or if it’s a business purchase then maybe rsr will be a better option - I’m not sure how often the feature gets used especially at thIs age of the vehicle when it’s purchased by private individuals. Personally the massage and recline function in my 430 has been used a handful of time in the 5 years I’ve had it. If I ever upgrade to the 600 I will probably go for the standard version as I have family and therefore valuable space will not be lost in the back. i have noticed that most 600hs have the rsr.
  17. Well in the past there has been a small number of facelift ones which were be By broken due to this fault occurring and the gearbox going - so the problem does exist even in facelift models
  18. This has been relisted - i dont know why It was originally discussed here on LOC
