  1. Hi yes they are both smart keys - check the battery or swap the batteries between them hope this helps
  2. This car listed here was recently discussed on this forum: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201812123213416?sort=sponsored&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&make=LEXUS&model=LS 460&advertising-location=at_cars&page=2 21k miles - dealer price £14,995 Someone mentioned this was advertised privately for £7995
  3. The LS600 is a rare car and faults like yours are unheard of. I have just googled that error code and there seems to be a few posts regarding this error (mainly on the prius forum) One of the post lists the possible causes as follows: "Faulty Key Faulty transponder key amplifier Faulty Transponder Key Electronic Control Unit (ECU) Transponder key amplifier wire harness Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)" My gut feeling is Lexus are probably unsure of which part is faulty since its intermittent and rare occurring. I would do as much research as you can on the internet to seeif there is a definitive guide to which part is faulty. Faults like this can be a nightmare as you lose faith in the car not knowing when it wont starts. Hope it gets sorted soon and at reasonable cost.
  4. There is the driving position between the 2 cars - I would suggest an extended test drive would help in making your decision
  5. The previous owners name and address is on the V5 anyway - might be worth a try to drop a polite not to them and ask them to obtain the history and pass it on to you. I've also seen mentioned here somewhere that the dealer can print out a list of the jobs done to the car without the personal stuff?
  6. I would pull the unit out and check everything is plugged in at the back hope this helps
  7. Hi Graeme that cost seems very high especially if you have one working key. I enquired about a replacement smart keyless key for my LS430 and was given a price of around £185 for supply and program at a Lexus dealer.
  8. Very nice car - enjoy Totally agree with the car promoting a sedate driving style. When driving the 430 i'm calm and relaxed watching the revs and being careful over potholes etc. When i'm in the BMW I often find myself turning the dial to sport mode and just flooring it lol
  9. Hi Tom There are 3 lines of enquiry you can adopt: 1) Look around the engine bay for a sticker 2) Look in the service history book and contact previous garages who have serviced the car and ask them. 3) If possible contact the previous owner and ask them. I actually bought an LS400 years ago without a cambelt change and was able to verify this info by googling and contacting the owners name. Failing this factor the cost of a cambelt, Waterpump and tensioner change into your buying price and then get it done at a garage of your choice. hope this helps
  10. Found it! - Here is a link where a member used plumbing pipe: https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/98529-ls400-mk-3-power-steering-hose-to-pipe-leak/
  11. Many years ago when I joined there was a topic where it was suggested using microbore copper plumbing pipe and pipe benders to fabricate a replacement pipe - not sure if this is at all possible. I also came across this website http://www.powersteeringstore.co.uk/ maybe they can help
  12. in my 430 I have set the AC to on and air direction to feet and front screen and I rarely have to touch any settings apart from temperature occasionally and the screen defrosts as and when needed
  13. Kal sorry for your troubles - unfortunately these are known weak points of the GS450H - The GS450 is a rare breed and I have many time considered (still do) one but could not justify buying into some known problems especially when my 430 has been very reliable and faultless. Given that you have spent some money on other parts I would wait until the light comes on again and bite the bullet and get the battery reconditioned. I think this sounds like the common problem where one or more cells are low on voltage causing the lights to go off.
  14. Well I tried them because they do a lot of rubber products so thought they would be half decent and they are. They have invested in their own printed packaging aswell I searched for wipers 24 16 to find their listing. Here is a link to their ebay shop http://www.ebaystores.co.uk/Auto-Performance-Silicone-Hoses/ASH-Silicone-Hoses-Tubes-/_i.html?_fsub=450466019&
  15. I've had a couple of disappointed experiences with branded wipers so tend to buy the cheap flat ones from ebay (ASH - Auto Silicone Hoses) My last pair were about £5 and normally I change them every couple of years - they do a perfect job
  16. taken from another post: I have found the receipt for the Hybrid Pump bearings. Not sure if the part numbers would make sense, so I have measured the bearings with vernier callipers so the correct parts can be ordered. I bought mine from Brammer UK Ltd, in Hereford (01432 276630). The part numbers are 61900-2Z and 608-2Z. They were in stock at the time. The dimensions for the front bearing are 22mm OD, 10mm ID, 6mm width. The dimensions for the rear bearing are 22mm OD, 8mm ID, 7mm width. Giles. also a full write up here with pictures: http://carlthomas66.blogspot.com/2016/03/lexus-gs450h-transmission-oil-pump.html
  17. Weird looking car I must say - doesn’t look modern at all and appears to have bits taken from a Camry and ls430. the front has Mercedes influences
  18. Hi Phil You might struggle to find a retrofit article for a 430 because all the UK spec ones came with sensors I have fitted to twice to may mark 4 years ago The original discussion is here:
  19. Yes you don't need to be a gold member however there is a strict format in which the advert should appear: Here is the link:
  20. If you car does have a separate amp and it is at fault (bit premature if that) I used a company called SVT services in Edinburgh to repair mine from my 04 plate LS430
  21. That's the same as my fault Can you please let me know what brand sensor he uses as I have fitted a new sensor but the light has returned with the same code showing - I used a genuine Toyota sensor with the correct part number. My car drives without fault also thanks for your help
