  1. Thanks for the reply George. The vibration is difficult to feel once revved - nothing is felt once the car is moving - only when stationary Your reply has given me an idea - i'm going to try with AC on and off and see if that make a difference. Is there any thing else I can check?
  2. I have a 04 plate LS430 with 140k+ miles on it. It has developed an annoying vibration which is mainly felt when the engine is running but stationary The vibration is felt from the drivers seat - its not a constant vibration - it is there all the time but the vibrations very in severity ever so slightly. The vibrations give a thud like fell to the It is felt in drive and in Park - hot engine revs are 800 and revs are constant so I don't think its engine or rev speed related Could this be engine or transmission mounts? - if not would could it be.
  3. Whilst we are talking about size - the other day I drive into morissons car park and there is a brand new GS300H F Sport in Blue - I parked next to it (on purpose lol) and I immediately noticed that it is larger than my 430 - I wasn't expecting that. 2 things I noticed: that the space between tyre and arch is a lot and it appeared to be sitting quite high in my opinion. secondly the actual sills themselves look unfinished. I then noticed a mature bloke walk up to it and then we got chatting - apparently he had an S class Mercedes which was costing him too much in repairs and he decided to buy a Lexus - I couldn't believe him when referring to the Lexus he said "they are giving them away at £34000" - wish I had your sort of money I thought to myself. He then showed me the interior - he hadn't even take off the covering paper off the rear sills and there were scrapes and marks on the front one - what! I then sat in the drivers seat briefly - it was a black interior - was too quick to draw any opinion though. But I do think modern cars don't have the same personality attached to them like the old ones (mines a 04 430)
  4. It’s just been listed on autotrader - I thought the guy got his digits wrong when I read 730,000 miles - but the MOT record backs it
  5. It might be an idea to start a new thread with appropriate title to attract more and the right people
  6. just check the red one has only done 63k! (m reg) - must be an MOT issue
  7. There used to be a mint red prelude on our road and I used to always admire the immaculate paintwork. I have just recently noticed a small trader has the same car - hes now breaking it after failing to find a buyer😳
  8. Especially if it's a mint LS400 which has just had the clay bar treatment!
  9. well its certainly opened my eyes - I was thinking of upgrading in the next couple of years
  10. Is this is the one in Wellingborough. In any case a visit to the dealer is an eye opener and goes to show although a car may look and appear well cared for with FSH - it doesn't mean its all good underneath and even more so on cars of the size and age.
  11. Hi Normally this information is in the manual - if you have one might be worth a look.
  12. Phil I do agree with you but I have a feeling someone, somewhere will pay the price - The dealer facilities will give it the slight edge over a private seller. 3 - 4 years ago a very similar condition LS400 went from a private individual to a dealer in oxford who sold it for (IIRC) £12995 within a week The buyer came on here briefly to say he was on the lookout for one and bought it on the spot. We'll see . . . . . . . . .
  13. Hi Ged Your car is very new model so owners with problem may be very limited. I would take it back to the supplying dealer and speak to them - perhaps get them to drive yours to see what they think and then drive one of their cars to see if you notice the same. From experience on here the GS450H is know to have the creaking dash problem which some owners have fixed by stuffing strips of foam around the dash where it meets the car body. hope this helps
  14. What mileage is your car at out of interest?
  15. Hi There is a common problem on these whereby the bearing on the pumps fail - this can be a very cheap fix if you are good with spanners There is a write up here by a member: https://carlthomas66.blogspot.com/2016/03/lexus-gs450h-transmission-oil-pump.html hope this helps
  16. Ebay Link https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS-400-BEIGE-LEATHER-SAT-NAV-ONLY-57-250-MILES/153520163302?hash=item23be83c9e6:g:Yw0AAOSwDO9c~ND0
  17. The car in the question was on an ebay auction recently and has now ended up at a dealer priced at £11,995
  18. Hi Sean You either have a leak in the air system or the ride height sensor is faulty. You could try to diagnose a leak by listening for escaping air whilst the air compressor is running. Failing that it will need to go to a garage - preferably one with air suspension experience Hope you get it sorted soon
  19. I repaired both my front LS430 speakers - the speakers are still performing great here is the write up:
  20. Not sure what model you have but iirc its press and hold until light goes out - I have 04 ls430
