  1. HI I cannot help with your query but I think I may have the same problem as you - I feeling a vibration through the driver seat on hot engine idle - I've had the bonnet up on when running and the engine is definitely not smooth as it used to be - I hoping to have it hooked upto a code reader when I get a chance. Please do post up a solution if you get to the bottom of it.
  2. I can suggest 2 things: 1) Check for any dampness within the car i.e footwells and carpets 2) Ensure ventilation is set to outside air not re-circulate. 3) Set airflow to feet and front screen. Hope this helps
  3. One of our family BMWs have that feature, I've tried it once and it works well - I think you have to get used to it because normally I tend to just use the foot break if the stop is not too long. It never gets used in the BMW for sure
  4. You sure have a rare car there - I've had a LS430 for many years and still have not got bored of it! - Now that we have 2 BMWs in tha family with the HUD, I think your sort of car would be the perfect upgrade for me . . . . . . . . . one day !
  5. All the seat bolt covers are different shape on the 430 albeit it could be for a different car.
  6. 2 things I can suggest for the keyless- first check the fob batteries and second check it’s switched on - button near drivers knee
  7. Larry is a Mark 4 The one on ebay is a LOC members car which is a mark 3
  8. I can only suggest driving the car for a while and see if you will get used to it and find the ride acceptable to the point that you maybe able to live with it.
  9. might be worth inspecting the catch and if the cable is visible try to pull it with a pair of long nose pliers I haven to say I've never heard of this problem on the 460 - its more common on the pre-facelift 430s good luck
  10. Thanks for you reply guys and links - ill save these and if all fails I will look these guys up - probably better if I can fit it in when I go that way to pick I'm my niece from uni. Frustrating that simple job has turned so awkward - hopefully "soon" I wont have to hear the "ping" everytime I start the car
  11. Hi Alan The sensor im using is a denso. I know from reading on here that the sensor does not matter . I think the issue is connecting the wires up correctly
  12. I'm trying to sort an 02 sensor saga which has been going on for a few months with my 430 part of the problem is finding a decent garage who I can trust with the simple but awkward problem. Ok - few months back had the engine light come on but no change or loss in performance - this was diagnosed as Bank 1 Sensor 1 02 sensor - simple I thought so bought an 02 sensor and took it to garage one to have it replaced - they put it on ramp and start job - then the guy comes back a short while later and says the wiring is damaged but they will do something (I did not have a look myself) After an hour job all done - drove off and 3 miles later light is back on - rang garage they say it must be the sensor I bought so quoted for a new sensor. - I did not take car back to them. Because I bought the sensor off ebay I thought I would get a genuine Denso sensor and try another garage - left the car with garage two and he rang me back shortly to say the connector plug was missing and the wiring had become disconnected hence the light but he will try to join the wires - he tried it but the light has come back on within 3 miles. At this point I am assuming the issue is the same. I think the previous owners of my car had the sensor replaced by cutting and joining the wires OR the connectors were damaged (being so close the exhaust) and the repair was done. So issue one is finding and connecting the wires correctly and issue two is the position where the join takes place - those of you who have done this job know its right next to the exhaust under the car and access is very limited. So what I'm asking is does anyone know what wire is connected where - there are 4 wires and secondly can anyone recommend a decent garage around Beds/Bucks area who would be willing to tackle this job. Any suggestions will be welcome.
  13. I think that cover belongs to one of the footwells (a) because it looks similar in appearance to the one on my 430 and (b) another member recently posted using the footwell fuse box when fitting their dashcam - I would have a good look in both footwells.
  14. I know whats next steve - a polished aluminium lower bumper trim!
  15. Wow! - We have often said on this forum that the LS430 was ahead of its time but to have LEDs is amazing - reliable they are too!
  16. Please do report back with total costs and your opinion on the ride - thanks
  17. Phil how sure are you that the rest cluster is LED? - I’ve always liked the blink rate on the BMW and Audi cars and have wondered if I could achieve that instantaneous blink by upgrading the bulbs
  18. I've had moments like that years ago I used to have a Toyota camry and decided to change the discs and pads myself. After removing the caliper, I thought the centre hubnut was holding the disk on - first I didn't have a large enough socket - so bought one - after trying all I could the nut would not budge - even with 2 of us pushing down on a metre long steel pole - in the end it turned out there was nothing holding the disc on - even the screw which should of been there was missing and all that was needed was a tap and it fell off !!!
  19. it almost appears as the car has been bought as an investment - doing no mileage between MOTs
  20. This car was advertised a few years back on ebay and quickly disappeared. I remember the reg, car and location pictures quite clearly. From past we know that cars like this sell quicker at dealers Another low mileage was recently discussed here:
  21. Mine came with a nokia car kit installed which works fine however it does not mute audio either so I simply push the volume button when a call comes in - unfortunately it does not auto-connect either now since I got an iPhone 7
  22. Tire set is to reset the tyre pressure warning system after it comes on. You press and hold for 5 secs smart is to turn off the keyless entry and start function - hope this helps
