  1. The Lexus quality especially the LS never ceases to amaze me. You won't this sort of quality of materials and workmanship in modern vehicles. We have a modern BMW in the family but interior trim plastics and leather is no where as good quality - the door pull area is nice and shiney and clearly starting to show wear, The coin tray no longer closes. The seats are difficult to clean due to grain texture. I saw a 2 year old Mercedes c class parked up today and the headlights had lost their shine and one of the was clouded up from inside.
  2. I replaced my mark 3 seats just like you. I also removed the front seat one my mark 4 for cleaning All I did was disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes. If I remember correctly there is a small plastic plate where the seatbelt attaches - just remove that and undo the nut holding the seatbelt stub. Other than that it was 4 bolts holding the seat and electrical connections underneath. When you have unbolted and disconnected everything then tilt the seat backwards so its lying on its back - then rotate 90 degrees towards yourself - this will make it easier to remove. Would be easier with 2 people but I managed it on my own in small steps. Just be careful and take your time not to damage trim plastics or wiring. I even removed the seat in my 430 the same way Hope this helps and good luck.
  3. Woah slow down phil . . . . . I don't think you will be happy with coil overs if that's what you are thinking. I would have it investigated properly by a garage and if it is the strut then . . . . . . . I would replace with air strut.
  4. I agree with above suggestions. I never get condensation in my 430 but today was the first coldest day we had and I had it on my front and rear screens - hopefully once the temperatures settles it should clear up
  5. Enjoy your new car john and don't forget to post some pictures and also give us a rundown on how the car/ride differs to your 430
  6. HI Brendan thanks for your reply This has been sorted after and 02 sensor change
  7. And you are doing all this with the car on jack stands? My hats off to you - I would not be brave enough
  8. I think this may of been advertised privately originally for £3995 and then reduced to £3495
  9. yes - that one looks better.
  10. Looks good - I would of preferred to have the roof bars and above the windows black also
  11. Is it possible that there was a radar cruiser control option on the LS400 and this might be one of them where the Radar sensor was fitted? I have never seen this before nor did I come across it in any googling
  12. HI Mel Did you have an LS430 previously? - if yes how does the GS450H compare?
  13. Steve you are a perfectionist - those flange plates look like an original item I'm sure chrome plating the locking nuts and fabricating a chrome bumper protector is on your list which you are gradually working through!😀
  14. These are reviews which have been left on Auto Trader by previous customers.
  15. They have good reviews on Auto Trader https://www.autotrader.co.uk/dealers/city-of-bristol/bristol/southwest-lexus-limited-10006477
  16. I agree with some of the comments above ref getting a lower mileage one. But This is one is in immaculate condition It has been regularly serviced The seller has a good reputation for selling good quality/condition vehicles I would therefore definitely consider it The garage that done most of the servicing has got very good reviews aswell - you could probably give them a call and talk to them. I think the car has been advertised for about 3 months so you may be able to agree a lower price.
  17. Hi Tony I would first rule out the battery - the steering motors require a lot les power than the starter motor.
  18. You did the right thing - I would do the same. With regards to LS430 values - yes they are on the rise and when a low mileage one comes along the dealers will just price them really high - one example is a 37k miles facelift which a dealer has picked up and now priced at 10K
  19. Hi Paul looks like you have been very busy today - and certainly happy after getting the original smoothness back. This is not a members car by any chance purchased recently? 😏 - the clue was in the 2 sets of alloys
