  1. HI I have never heard of a transmission going on the earlier models like yours. Perhaps there is another factor which has led to this I would let a transmission specialist have a look and then decide the best course of action. what mileage has you LS done?
  2. Their address made me chuckle lol
  3. I think the best option would be try to source replacement (used ) blinds and then swap them over - hopefully the come away from the door without too much trouble
  4. Just wanted to express my gratitude to this forum Not only do I find answers to all the questions and problems (small number) I have encountered during my ownership of the Lexus Marque but on occasions I have been sent stuff free of charge. Once I was having a sound issue with my car (turned out to be fuse in the end) and a member sent me a replacement screen/cd player free of charge - a big thank you to that member Just recently I asked about part number for luggage net - a member pm'd me offering to send me one free of charge - they even sent it Special Delivery! - a big thank you to that member - I am grateful - I won't name them just incase - but feel free to reply to this thread if you want to. Finally I purchased Pete haylands LS430 recently - we literally done the deal within minutes and he kindly and happily delivered the car to me from over 140 miles away - great guy and great car which was as described and came with a boot full of expensive spare parts. Hoping for many years of Lexus motoring and contributions to this forum
  5. thats my mark 4 - sold it in 2012 with 80k for £2k - i think it went to blackburn then - everything looks the same apart from the bonnet
  6. thanks steve for taking the time to look for the part number. A member has been in contact offering to let me have one just for postage costs - so fingers crossed I may have one soon what a brilliant forum
  7. I'm trying to find a Luggage net for my 430 - the one which secures to the anchor points on the floor of the boot Does anyone know the part number I looked at the ones on ebay but I couldn't find one which will fit as the anchor points are 105cm x 60cm apart many thanks
  8. When I had the 400s - the steering on them was very smooth and lighter than the 430 - part of the reason is probably the narrower tyres Since having the 430 I have never got the steering perfect: It is slightly heavier to turn than the 400s here is more road feel especially uneven surfaces It has a tendency to jerk a little when going over bumps and uneven surfaces I tend to feel a slight wobble when going over uneven surfaces I have so far replaced, tie rods, ball joints, steering rack bushes and gone through different brand of tyres - but never go it 100% I think part of the reason is the profile of the tyres The pre-facelift ones are smoother with 17 inch tyres
  9. Brake discs not sitting true to hub? Buckled alloy? maybe start with swap tyres front to back and see
  10. this is a possibility https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-LS400-DYNAMIC-PACK-DHP-1UZFE-V8-1995-1997-BREAKING-AUCTION-FOR-BULB/352832306064?hash=item522671bb90:g:NPQAAOSwgqpdseL6 or you can start collecting them one by one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Lexus-LS-20000-2006-17-FELGA-ALLOY-RARE-NEW-PZ405-F0670-ZE/153733200783?hash=item23cb367b8f:g:YGcAAOSw3ehd1pNl
  11. Just for future reference - Lexus Parts Direct have these on their website
  12. This would give me sleepless nights and leave me with no confidence in the vehicle I would just get rid and buy another
  13. HI What functions does your Grom offer - and hows the handsfree call quality? does the caller display on the screen? and are the call accept steering buttons compatible?
  14. A can of satin black aerosol plaint will blend it right in! I was just tinkering with my 430 the other day and used it on all the rusty nut heads in the engine bay - looks as good as new
  15. Gen give it some time you might just get used to it 8 years ago i bought my 430 to replace my 98 LS400 - I started driving my 430 whilst i have my 400 for sale - I did'nt find it as quite or smooth as the 400 and it probably is not - in the meantime my 400 sold and i still was not happy with my 430 Then a 400 same up for sale at a garage just down the road - i went and bought and spent some money on it to bring it up to my standard - in the end i was persuaded to keep the 430 and sell my newly bought 400 I now would not go back to a 400 the 430 has modern and ageless look It is well planted on the road seat are more comfy and you dont slide around like in the 400 I would miss the keyless entry and soft close hope this helps
  16. Initial expressions were nice tidy car but then I saw the steering wheel mileage is high List of MOT advisories endless - which continue throughout the history - does'nt appear very looked after But love the colour
  17. Does the post help at all: https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/110529-popup-hood-failure/
  18. That’s a lovely car - I know you won’t regret the colour - black is hard to keep clean - silver never needs cleaning 😂 and hides imperfections - same applies to the grey leather - my Ls430 is the same colour combo
  19. Hi Steve Could it be that the sample you sent was less worn therefore lighter in colour? hence the difference
  20. HI Lee the only definitive way of finding out is to plug in a code reader and read the actual code - it could be as simple as fuel cap seal or something like an 02 sensor - I don't think the low fluid washer warning is related - if there is fluid in the reservoir it could be a faulty sensor. The GS are also prone to rust on the leading edge of the bonnet especially underneath - so check hat properly
