  1. Could it be the keyless entry? or and aftermarket phone
  2. There are 10 LS430s for sale on autotrader and 8 are silver - must of been the colour of that time
  3. HI terry Generally these 3 get good reviews on this forum: Falkens Avons Continental
  4. they are also very easy to clean - a few wipes with a damp micro fibre cloth and they come up new
  5. Probably note worthy also is to check these when buying one - its a heavy car and clearly these to take a beating
  6. Hi I'm not sure about invoices - but once you have received your logbook - you can go onto the Lexus website - sign up and then entre your car details - that will give you a breakdown each time the car has been to a Lexus dealer
  7. Nice car Just wanted to add do you research if you ever look into buying a key from the US - the LS430 keys don't work as they operate on a different frequency so that may also be the case with your car
  8. its also available from Japan via Amayama https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/8499950270
  9. The GS450h cold start engine noise has come up on his forum many time perhaps a few members could make short engine start videos and upload them here for others to see/hear and compare with their own cars
  10. That might be an idea A member here "the acre" replaced all 4 of his air suspension struts on his 430 by himself on his drive and they worked fine
  11. I I have looked through the forum and found the post which i was referring to
  12. One thing I noticed in the video is that his car did not have air struts. So having read your comment again I remembered something: a few years back a guy on this forum had a problem with his 430 - the ride height sensors failed meaning his car would not rise to the correct level - he decided to buy the sensors and have them replaced at his local garage - the garage managed to fit them but could'nt get the car to rise - he then had to have the car recovered to Lexus to have it recalibrated. So thinking about your situation - if the struts need to be removed then there may be some truth in what the garage is saying So I think you will need to speak to a few more people/garages to gather some more information
  13. hi I think the most cost effective to fix this would be to find another garage who have a press - then buy the bushings and get them changed over. I've had a look at this video and it wont be too difficult for a garage to do - just need to be methodical
  14. I would ask: 1) is the car being cold by the dealer or private owners 2) why no mention of the mileage discrepancy seller has either taken a very casual approach and overlooked some things or he is simply acting as a middle man therefore not too bothered lets hope all bidders atleast check the MOT history before bidding
  15. They way I done it for my R reg LS400 was Buy a used remote key Buy a new uncut key Transfer the transponder over get the blade cut locally program the key I can't remember how much it cost because it was over 9 years ago
  16. And I also remember reading make sure the key you buy has a triangle on the unlock button
  17. Hi Yes it can be done - you will need one working remote key. Buy a second key and follow the instructions in the link below by Haylands - i done many years ago: the central locking part was easy -- but the immobiliser part took about 20 attempts and it finally worked - good luck
  18. I remember when I went from a 400 to 430 I was anxious that it would be alot thirstier - but now i could'nt agree with the above statement - I just fill and enjoy!
  19. It has had one oil change after 2012 and throttle body has been cleaned due to stalling problem
  20. There are good and bads here: Goods: Lowish mileage Bodywork is good and original - small scuff on rear bumper interior is good also sellers dad bought it new and then passed to seller upon his death Bads: 18 stamps in the book from 1995 - 2012 last dealer service in 2012 @98k miles cambelt needs changing soon - it was done in 2011 @96k miles Apparently there are no lights in the dash now following alternator change Brakes pipes have been fixed by removing and applying some sort of grease. It is a good genuine car by the sounds of it but I would check chassis and running gear prior to purchase
  21. Hi One of the members on the GS forum had a similar problem and the problem pointed towards a blocked heater matrix - maybe have this checked?
