  1. You have a rare car Alan - My next Lexus must have a HUD Lexus are a bit behind in tech - but ahead in quality and reliability
  2. I think this would be a dealer only part - The LS430 has 2 door seals - the upper ones were very slightly starting to perish and they cost £60 each from the dealer - very easy to fit and perfect aswell. The rear ones were cheaper £35 I think I think thats quite reasonable
  3. I wanted some for my 430 but they are over £100 where as the 460 ones are half the price???
  4. HI Lexus Parts Direct have them listed: Lexus LS Accessories Parts & Accessories | Lexus Parts Direct
  5. HI Apparently when in parking mode it uses its internal battery Intelligent Parking Mode Dash Cams | Nextbase It also depends on how you dashcam is wired:
  6. Great find keith - how did you find this beauty? - any more pictures?
  7. When I changed my LS last year - the V5 took over a month to come through - so give a few more days
  8. If you need the ride height sensor - SGS Engineering do one for the LS400 - you could ask if it will the GS or perhaps they can make one for you. This is a common problem on the LS400 aswell
  9. Hugh - this fault is common on the early Mark 1/2 LS400s - have you noticed a leak on yours?
  10. Great! It's satisfying when you do a job like this, you fix the fault, save yourself some money and you know you have done it correctly without any loose screws in there some where
  11. I also found these guys aswell: Lexus LS400 instrument cluster Speedo (91 on). - Cluster Repairs UK
  12. Yep! These car dictate a calm and laid back driving style - we have BMWs in the family and whenever I drive them I'm a totally different guy
  13. I think when we will look back at our driving life in the years to come (I'm early 40s) we would see we have been very lucky to own and drive such great cars. I'm not sure the same can be said for the coming generations, I think the use of cars is going to decrease and owning and driving a car maybe for the wealthy. We are already being enticed to giving up our cars Drivers are being offered up to £3,000 ‘in credit’ to give up polluting cars (thesun.co.uk) Recently I rang BMW garage for a part number because I wanted to ensure I was buying the correct part from the manufacturer (same manufacturer BMW use) and they wouldn't give out a part number - I have never encountered this before
  14. Hi Colin You have a great car there - congrats! I have not come across any similar incidences on LOC I don't think a car wash would bring on such errors. If the car has FSH then chances are you will also have a hybrid health check in which case the Hybrid battery is covered for 12 months. You also can take up any issues you have with the supplying dealer. I would keep an eye on things and if the issue comes back again - I would let the dealer sort it hope this helps
  15. Hi Here are a few pointers: When test driving make sure the gear changes smooth and no clunks from the suspension - generally engine and gearbox are bullet proof on these Check all the electrics work - the cd player back lights tend to pack up and the heated seats almost always don't work and there is no fix for them The early mark 3 cars which is this one suffered from stalling when slowing down from speed i.e when coming off a motorway - this was due to dirty throttle body - try to ensure this is not the case. Check for low or eratic idle when warm - this could indicate Check the boot is all dry - if not you will need a new boot seal If you can get a new MOT on in before purchase this would be good - any rust issues could be found at this point Check for exhaust blow from the Y section - the part disintegrates causing the blow - the only cost effective solution is to get this part fabricated - the rest of the exhaust is stainless steel. As you open the bonnet just behind the bumper you will see the power steering cooling pipe - make sure this is not corroded or leaking Make sure the air con works Make sure you have at least 2 keys and the remote central locking work - and ensure all doors lock and unlock Make sure the rear demister works. Make sure you get Alloy wheel key. Ask if the cabin filter has ever been changed - these get overlooked. Make sure the CD player in the glovebox works - these sometimes pack up. Have a good look around the rear aches for rust - they are dirt traps Make sure all the dash needles light up fully. I've seen the car - leather looks like it has never had treatment - otherwise its quite smart - its top end price for a mark 3 car. But its a quality car.
  16. I think this video has been mentioned here before - I have stopped buying branded parts from ebay for this reason. Best to pay a little more and by from dealer for piece of mind
  17. My brother go one from ebay for about 20 quid and it does the job perfectly fine - it has G sensor so starts recording it car is hit and it has wifi connect - he has been recently been in an accident and he used the footage. He tucked the wires in the front pillar. I would suggest have a look on ebay - do some comparisons - have a look at the numbers sold and feedback and buy from there - I just think the difference in price is just too much to justify going to the high street He got this one or very similar 1080P Mini Car DVR Camera Dash Cam WIFI G-sensor Video Recorder Night Vision | eBay
