  1. I bought my first Lexus, a Mark LS400 3 in 2006, I'm now on my 4th which is an LS430 and cannot see myself changing to any other brand.
  2. We have a 335d in the family - I couln't drive it everyday, noisy, creaky and harsh - nice to look at I must add lol
  3. Have you check the boot lid light (if it has one is going off when closed? Also if you have a factory phone installed - they don't normally switch off with the ignition. Japex in Kings Langley (although not electrics specialist) are highly recommended for all things Lexus
  4. This week we had a few good days: sunny and high temps I replaced the outer door deals on my 430 - they had started to disintegrate slightly - straight forward job. Replaced the number plate lights with led bulbs - subtle upgrade and spent some cleaning the interior and treating the seats to some leather feed.
  5. Gavin I'll give you 10 out 10 for effort. The end result looks good - but unfortunately imho you picked the wrong car as the candidate for the project. The LS commands nothing but originality. Having said that mine has the original wood steering covered in matching leather which is a very good match
  6. I've never had an interest in Supra's but when I looked at the picture (without reading the comments), the first thing that came to my mind is BMW Z4 lol!
  7. We bought a car from here in June 2017 and that GS450h was there then ! - its probably pocket change to them considering the value of some of the super cars they have
  8. plenty on ebay - you just plug into the OBD and place the small display on the dash and thats it!
  9. Its very simple technology - essentially its a reflection from a small display which comes from a small screen from within the steering cowal on the dash side. I bought one for my LS430 from ebay for £20 - it just plugs into the OBD port and it works perfectly - but my ocd got the better of me and I didnt use it
  10. I had to drive a family BMW 335D today on a few local runs . . . . Every so often when I get dreaming I look at these (BMs) cars and think they look good, nice lights, techwise they are ahead of Lexus, maybe I should get one . . I have just come back all flustered and bothered and need to sit down somewhere quite just to calm myself lol Too much cabin noise - I couldn't listen to my music as it was intrusive - when I turned up the music my ears started hurting after a while??? start stop is an annoyance - yes you can switch it off wipers making clunky sound lots of creaks/cabin noises I couldn't live with every day - it was painful seriously! Positives: sharp brakes, precise steering and fast acceleration when required and the HUD Hopefully will have mine back tomorrow.
  11. lovely car - nice new colour combinations - I think Lexus should be fitting HUD in all their cars now
  12. Hi I clicked on your post because a BMW we have in the family has exactly the same problem - we have had the headlight our countless times, dried, pressurised it and sealed it but the problem still persists - we are now looking either sourcing a new (singing and dancing led adaptive) light a a cost of over £100 from the dealer or risk it with a second hand unit. Funny thing is we have even replaced the caps at the back with new ones but water still finds its way in. Anyway back to topic: thankfully Lexus lights are very reliable - the only time I got moisture in mine was when one of the rear caps on the headlight came loose and dropped off in the back - that would be my first point of call. If all looks good then you will have to remove it and check all the apertures for any broken or perished seals.
  13. Steve mpg doesn't really bother me but what would you expect to achieve if you ran a GS450h on local runs day in day out? Would 3-5 mile runs be enough to charge the battery sufficiently to make any real use back out if it?
  14. I think you need to find out if any suspension work has been done. Take a test drive and see how it feels. Its a heavy car and the rubbers underneath will start to wear out. Also the exhaust is not stainless on these and may need attention especially the backboxes. I've seen the car you mentioned on AT The rear looks well used so could possibly be a chauffeur car?? The tyres appear all matching and branded which is a good sign. I think going through the service history and taking a test drive will answer alot of questions.
  15. I think if performance matters to you then you need the GS450H Its a smaller car with less floaty feel than the LS and the 3.5 litre engine combined with the assist from the hybrid motors coupled with the CVT gearbox gives a linear acceleration experience like no other car in this sort of price bracket. The LS range promotes a relaxed and sedate driving style Hope this helps.
  16. you may find this post helpful also: Lexus GS450H question - Lexus GS 300 / Lexus GS 250 / Lexus GS 430 / Lexus 450h / Lexus GS 460 Club - Lexus Owners Club
  17. This is what I do before my new car arrives: I dream that my new car has arrived lol
  18. Just like to add its a members car mentioned here: £10k. Really? - Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club - Lexus Owners Club
  19. I can only add: my old LS430 had an intermittent airbag light problem when the passenger seat was used - when I was investigating this problem I found that it could be a faulty Occupancy Sensor - but apparently its buried deep in the seat somewhere. On my Mark 4 LS400 if the passenger was sat without the seatbelt done up there was a slight IIRC So it is a system definitely used on older LS
  20. Perhaps its the keyless entry that it using the battery - it might be an an idea to run that off?
  21. thats a good site - the illustrations make it really easy to identify parts.
  22. Looks amazing - but how reliable is all this tech? - how well will it age? - and what are the associated repair costs if things go wrong?
